The Walden is aged, the room we stayed in needs a fresh coat of paint, but the linen is fresh, the bathroom very clean and the bed comfy. Staff a bit nonchalant. No BBC or the like on TV (just Chinese soapy style shows). No restaurant, BUT half a block away is a great collection of Chinese restaurants, including the...

Although it’s a small hotel for it’s footprint, it goes up over 20 floors. Very good location on Hennessy between the Wanchai and Causeway Bay station. Rooms are adequate. I’ve stayed there for just under 500 a night and for Hong Kong this is a good deal as the room is big enough. The internet connection is good. The only...

There was no way to get WiFi in my room. They give you the code, it works in the lobby, but absolutely no signal in the room. Rest is old but acceptable given the price, but internet is not a detail in 2016. Pathetic.

Went to HK for 3 days, since everything is so expensive in HK, the room we stayed was probably worth it. Its pretty convenient to go anywhere, staffs are helpful. Im not a picky person but I cant say the room is very clean, there are many stains in the room and the bathroom door couldnt close well, bathroom is...

This hotel is a total dump, my parents are here visiting me and have booked the room for the last remaining 7days, I'm totally shocked at how bad it is, the walls are very badly marked, the bed is awful, the carpet has stains and the chair in bedroom has holes all over it, this is more like a cheap...

The location is good. It is in between Wanchai and Causeway Bay. But the hotel is poor maintained. The carpet is dirty, the wall is stained. Luckily, the bed and bathroom are still ok. The front desk staff are too green.

I arrived in Hong Kong after a 12 hour flight to find that my connecting flight was cancelled because of a typhoon. It was about 6:30 pm and I just wanted to find a place quick. I went onto a booking site and Walden came up as one of the better deals available. Having been to Hong Kong before, I...

The room condition is good. There are restaurants and bus stops nearby (esp the bus from/to airport). The courtesy of the receptionists can be better. I lived on 17th floor and it is very quiet to let us have a rest.

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
