The location is excellent (once you find it). There are lots of shops and restaurants in the area, and it is very close to public transit and attractions. Not much was provided as to how to check in, so let me give some instructions here: It is located in Block C of the Chungking Mansions. Look for the sign "Chungking Mansions" on the building. To get to Block C, you walk in there, go all the way to the back, and you will see an elevator to your left. Left side of the elevator is for even-number floors, right side odd-number. You will need to go up to the 15th floor to check in, and they don't open till 2PM. When we got there, they upsold us a bigger room. So we ended up paying more. There were a few problems: (1) Hot water was not working; (2) the toilet tank was leaking; (3) some of the lights don't work. The biggest issue was the water heater not working. Every night, I went to the office to remind them of the issues, and they kept telling us they were going to fix them, but they didn't. 4 days later, I could tell they were tired of me complaining because they basically told me "we'll fix it" and closed the door to my face. My husband wasn't as tolerant after 4 days of being ignored, so he raised hell with them. They finally moved us to another room where everything worked as expected, but by then we only had 2 more nights left. They provide filtered water, but the water dispenser was last cleaned April 2016 (see the picture we took in July 2019). The water had a weird taste to it. It was also out for a few days (see the red light in the picture). I also reminded them every night about it. While the area might look relatively safe, that building did not feel that way. Onc night when we came back, the Block C elevator was closed because there was a crime scene--someone was slashed/chopped, and there was a lot of blood on the floor. We took some pictures, but we probably shouldn't post them here. This happened in the middle of all the shops and restaurants on the ground floor, where there were always tons of people. Granted, we went to Hong Kong when the protest against China was going on, but I don't think this has much to do with the protest. AC worked. WiFi also worked though it went out on a daily basis and we had to reset the gateway and the router frequently.

Booked a family room months ahead. A week before our travel, we were asked for some information which I promptly replied to. On the day of our travel, I received a couple of emails, one saying that I did not comply with the requested information earlier then and another emaik saying that our credit card was not accepted. Take note! WE WERE ALREADY IN TRANAIT!BOOKING WAS CANCELED AND WAS ONLY INFORMED WHEN WE ARRIVED! Ended up paying for more expensive rooms for one night! Staff and owner were helpful but it was really an inconvenience since my wife and I were with 2 kids and 2 elderly. Entrance to the hotel is dirty. Looked more like an abandoned building with working elevators. Room was small, bed was smaller than standard double/single. Pictures in advertisements are totally different. Booked another hotel for my family the next day. The only things I liked here were helpful staff and location which is beside the MTR station. Will not come back here again and will not be recommending this place to anyone.

The staff and other guests were very friendly and easy to get along with, full of tips or ideas of what to do and where to go - and where not to go! Very convenient place, self service laundry and kitchen stuffs, they even have a massage chair in the common area outside. Good wifi and ac, space was on the small side but so was my budget so if you have realistic expectations for the price you pay then it's actually quite comfy, and you can leave your luggage there for the day after check out.

Even though the beds are a bit small, well that's what you get for the price in Hong Kong, in a good location, soft mattress, cold AC and good wifi, met many people and even joined some for some exploring activities, good chats and a cool common area outside where we could smoke and have a chilled party til late. Everyone was sharing stories and food ;)

Despite an old building, the staff welcome you into a clean place with good wifi, where you can leave your luggage too when you have to leave later in the day. I met interesting people from all over, had great conversations and got a chance to meet some locals too making it really feel like I got to see a more personal side to Hong Kong outside of the touristy parts
