Detailed Reviews
My wife and I ended our 2-month holiday adventure with a brief 2-night stay in Hong Kong (to break the long journey back to NI), and stayed at the Lan Kwai Fong hotel.Â
It is located in what initially appeared to be a rather dilapidated area, but we soon realised that this was, in part, misleading. There is quite a mix of accommodation, shops, people; coupled with VERY steep, undulating and, in places, crumbling brickwork and pathways!
The hotel is nice, if quaint, especially the breakfast room on our first morning: ornate, and more akin to sitting in a family's private dining room (see picture). There are other rooms, too, equally colourful (see pictures), and where you are seated depends on the demand at that time; but be prepared to share a large table regardless (which can be embarrassing / awkward, especially early in the morning and you didn't expect this arrangement)!
Our room was reasonably spacious, but we wouldn't have wanted anything smaller (and pleased that we had been apparently 'upgraded'!). There were tea / coffee-making facilities; a small bath and a very low-positioned shower! In terms of storage, space was limited, with only one small wardrobe (at least it had a safe) and a few drawers.Â
The staff were generally friendly but Eddie (who was part of the duo serving breakfast) was lovely; and the Concierge, Stephen (pictured) was super helpful and charming đź¤

No one wants to be holed up in a room for 21 days but I think doing my quarantine at Lan Kwai Fong was decent. The food was very hit and miss, with the asian options being much better than the western choices (and rice and the pastas were alright, but I would not recommend the salad options). I got sent the wrong food order a few times, but after I gave staff a call, my actual order was sent to me.
I stayed in one of the hotel's 'Harbour view' rooms and it really was a view of the harbour, 30 floors up. I would recommend paying a bit more for a better view during quarantine, it makes a huge difference in how you feel. My room had a quite high ceiling as well, making the room feel bigger. The room had two windows that could be opened to let in fresh air, and a proper desk and chair so I was able to work during the day. I also brought an HDMI cable to use on the TV when watching Netflix, and I'd recommend others to do so as well.
Staff were very accommodating and available directly via phone, and I definitely think they make an effort to make sure that you're as comfortable as possible, given the circumstances - you're sent a small treat of sorts every Friday afternoon from the hotel, which is nice. You're given a set of metal cutlery and a good amount of detergent to use, and the shower pressure is good. The bathroom has big secured bottles of hand wash, shampoo and lotion, and spare towels and sheets. The biggest downside is that there is no laundry line inside the room (and no laundry service while you're in quarantine, so bring your own laundry powder/pods!) so you have to make do with whatever spare space you have.
There are a few procedures/rules that you must follow to when collecting food, discarding rubbish, and also getting covid tested every few days, but it's all easy to follow.

Stayed here for two nights after a long trip touring Asia. The hotel is in a great location, beware that the area is very hilly and pavements not great. If we did not have driver from airport we would never have found the hotel as signage is poor.
Our room was tiny, could just about have our two large cases out, even if we had wanted to unpack storage is minimal. The room was tired and showed obvious signs of wear and tear. Although the ornate screening on walls is attractive, it needs to be cleaned, so much dust on it.
We had opted for the inclusive breakfast but after trying on the first day did not go again, meet others travellers who said they were not going back. Be prepared to sit on a large table with other guests, who may not speak your language which can make it awkward. Without going into too much detail our experience was like a scene from Fawlty Towers, with poor food.
If all you want is somewhere to stay in a good location this place is fine but don’t expect too much else.

LKF Hotel was so great! We had to look for a quarantine hotel to stay. Between the changes in government restrictions, flight bans, flight circuit breakers and airline cancellations, our flight was changed some 5 times. LKH Hotel and its team were so accommodating and patient with our changes on our bookings. They always got back to us quickly, professionally and NEVER CHARGED A FEE for the changes. We were just so grateful for their help. I think I can speak for anyone who recently had to make the arrangements to travel to HKG as stressful and unpredictable (e.g., what if I am tested positive prior to take off? What would happen to my hotel booking?!). So many things have to line up. Many quarantine hotels advertised that they do not allow any changes made to the booking or if so, it would require a fee. LKF Hotel helped us many times to ensure that our booking was secured. As for the stay itself: excellent service. Attentive and kept guests informed. Deliveries from our families were brought up right away. The hallway and the room we were in had air purifiers so we felt extra reassured. LKF Hotel is really excellent on so many levels. Please keep up the good work! Many many thanks to Michael, Judy, Freda and everyone on the reservation team who were so patient with us. Thank you again for all of your help.

Stayed in the Sea View Room for 7 days quarantine. The room was very clean and comfortable. All the required quarantined sanitary items were sufficiently provided and were replenish promptly when required. The staff was very attentive and helpful. As for the daily 3 sets of meal, Western, Chinese, veg Western and veg Chinese were the 4 available options with sufficient variety. Food quality was decent, hot options always arrived at least warm and the schedule of delivery never delayed. It was possible for people from the outside to deliver food or other required items I need to me. Concierge was very efficient, stuff were delivered to the room within a short time (less than 15 minutes) in my case. Without any hesitate, I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Thank you for making quarantine quite enjoyable, even under the circumstances.

I have completed three hotel quarantine stays at the Lan Kuai Fong Hotel - a total of 8 weeks over the past year - and I recommend it if you have to go through this experience. Here are some of the reasons it works well for me: the service is excellent, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful and bring additional amenities if you need them, as well as occasional gifts and treats. (Special shout out to Vanessa Chung for her help and support!) It's a central location so easy to order food or groceries to be delivered, and they bring things up to your room with no delay. The food is reasonable, apart from a few things I didn't care for, but you will definitely want to order in sometimes to have a break from their menu. The windows open so you can get fresh air if you want a break from the A/C. The hotel will rent extras like a microwave, an office chair and exercise equipment - and I recommend all three! The bathroom has an excellent shower and a bathtub for those long evening soaks. The room layout is very well planned, with lots of light, space for exercise equipment, a desk and a comfortable window seat, so you can eat or relax looking out at the view. Did I mention the view? From the upper floors you have a panoramic view of Hong Kong harbour, so there is always something to look at. Lastly, and very importantly, it is good value for money compared to some of the pricier options which don't necessarily have the view or the flexibility with ordering food. I have recommended the Lan Kuai Fong to many friends and would definitely say it's a good place to do your time.

Since I am a quarantine guest, I am confined in the room and can only comment on the inside of the room, service and food. Food is great, a lot of choices to choose from and good quality. Not much service is needed since I'm stuck in the room, however, staff are nice when I have questions. The room is much smaller and a bit older than shown in pictures of the website, however, it feels clean and I have no complain. Amenities are sufficient and I like it that I can open the windows and the view is not bad... a relatively open view and I can see the harbor in between buildings.

The room is clean and tidy. Air conditioning and lights are sufficient. Facilities inside the room are well-equiped with four sets of towels, all usual toilet amenities, branded shampoo, conditioner and body wash, a tv with local and international channels, a mini fridge and a safe. The hotel is old. The room is old. It is not easy to find a shower curtain at this kind of room price nowadays. Only good thing is it’s location is in central.
Wi-Fi is slow not stable, I had to rejoin my zoom meeting a few times in a meeting. Meaningless to take the “sea view” room in this hotel, just do not waste the money.
