Faced with a mandatory quarantine upon arriving in Hong Kong, I knew how important comfort and convenience would be while I was locked in, completely forbidden from leaving my room. However, this hotel is quite comfortable with a spacious room and the staff is very helpful and attentive to all of your needs. I would specifically like to thank Dianne as well as the entire staff including Tom, Wilson, Ankee, Angela, and Simon Liu. Although I couldn’t go out during this time, the location in Wan Chai near many restaurants was still important as you need to rely entirely on delivery apps like Foodpanda, Deliveroo, and Uber Eats while in quarantine. The hotel was very helpful with this and I was able to order outside food delivery whenever I wanted. However, there were a few things that they charged way too much for, when of course I had to stay in my room and couldn’t go out to find a cheaper option. One was the covid test that I had to take on day 10 and then deliver to a local health clinic about 1 km away. They charged 400hkd for delivering this- for a 1 km journey!! Also, I needed to have 8 t-shirts and 7 pairs of underwear washed. This costs like 580hkd (even including a 10% discount)- just for a few friggin pieces of laundry!!! Needless to say, I only washed what absolutely had to be during quarantine. Also, the staff was a little bit rude when I was waiting for my bags during checkout (after finishing quarantine) telling me to put my mask back on. I had only taken it off (technically just pulled it down, not removed it) for a minute to drink some water. Yes, I know masks are mandatory in public right now and I always wear one, but come on!! They could have been a little more relaxed about it. Overall, I really liked the room, was very comfortable, in a good location (for receiving deliveries), and well taken care of during my quarantine. My only complaint, as mentioned, is how the hotel takes advantage of quarantined guests by charging insane amount for laundry and covid test delivery. But it’s a good, solid bet as a place to stay if you need to quarantine and in the (hopefully near) future when travel normalises, it’s a great location if you’re visiting Hong Kong and want to stay in a convenient location close to lots of restaurants, shopping, transportation, and sightseeing.

As stated on other reviews the executive room we had was very spacious, well maintained and had a large shower and a settee in the room.
Breakfast was excellent with a choice of hot and cold choices to suit all nationalities. Tip they will Cook eggs to order if you ask and cheaper if pre booked at reception.
Location close to MRT and of the bars behind the hotel would recommend the White Stag as well as Churchill’s ( fun quiz found by chance on a Thursday night and the queen Victoria both a bit further down

Food wise jono’s indian third floor on the corner was excellent and the white stag nice for pub grub. Didn’t like the Outback Steakhouse as it was overpriced

All hotel staff were helpful especially Laetitia

Only complaint rooms keys kept not working but only a minor issue and some road noise but not enough to keep you up

On my past trips to Hong Kong, I have always stayed in large chain hotels, and have always found them acceptable. Having looked at their website, and seeing the little extras they offered for booking direct eg a little later standard check out, drinks discounts etc, I went ahead and made my reservation.

The hotel is centrally located in wan chai. The MTR station is approx 150 metres away, the trams are 2 minutes, the airport shuttles call outside, and their are plenty of buses running along Hennessy Road. The star ferry is approx 15 minutes walk. Their are plenty of convenience stores, cafes, restaurants and British style pubs all within a few minutes walk. Their is also a small street market 5 minutes away. So the location is excellent.

Check-in and check out was handled by friendly professional staff. A special note to Mabel and cicy who were exceptional with their help. Porterage is available.

On the first floor is Kew space, which is the bar, breakfast room/restaurant area. Drinks are standard hotel price. The times I used this area, I felt comfortable and relaxed, and they played great music too!

Breakfast was an excellent spread. On my first morning I was up early for a tour, and the first one into breakfast. The spread was excellent including both hot and cold offerings. The chefs obviously work hard at what they produce. On the second morning I was much later, but the chefs were still making sure everyone was happy and everything was available.

Returning late from a tour, I decided to forgo going out, and chose to eat in the hotel. The options are a little limited, but their is something for all tastes. I opted for the burger and chips and it was indeed tasty and plenty of it. No skimping on size here.

My bedroom on the 5th floor overlooking Hennessy road was large and with excellent sound proofing. Their was a king size bed (bit hard for me but I am aware Asians prefer hard beds), large flat screen tv, writing desk, tea/coffee facilities, mini bar, wardrobe with safe that you could put an iPad inside, large bathroom with walk in shower. In a city known for smaller rooms, this was a very good size.

The hotel does offer a very late check out but this is chargeable but reasonable. Luggage storage is also available.

Every member of staff I came into contact had a genuine smile, and seemed very happy to be working at the Kew green. And I was smiling, because I had found a great hotel in this amazing city.

I stayed at this hotel for my 14-day quarantine and it was a really great experience. When I arrived at the hotel at the first day, the staff Kelly and Alan have helped me to check in smoothly. When I went up to my floor, the housekeeping lady Lisa was waiting for me outside the lift and she showed me around the room and assured me that I can always reach out when I need any assistance. During my stay, Wilson and Cicy were also helping me and made sure I have everything I need in my room. They just made my quarantine stay so much easier.

Though I couldn't get a chance to go around, but personally I know Wanchai very well so I can say this area is very convenient and it's very close to Wan Chai MTR station. There are bars and restaurants just around the corner, and Wanchai is also a business hub so I would 100% recommend this hotel whether you're here for business trip or leisure.

My husband and I stayed here for a whole month. The room was dingy and unclean. Our throats started feeling scratchy every time we entered the room. We asked them to clean the air vent but no improvement. One night it started smelling like chemicals. We suspected something broke in the vent. We called front desk, and they sent someone up with an air freshener...

There were no cleaning standards. Sometimes our cups were replaced, and sometimes they weren't. Even spoons we used for breakfast would be left there uncleaned.

The staff is unhelpful. The day shift people were generally better, but the night staff couldn't even understand what we were saying (like sending air freshener up to fix the chemical odor). They were always in a rush to get off the phone and did not take the time to process what we were asking.

At night, there was an Indian staff who checked temperatures at the door. He always greeted my husband but totally ignored my existence. Never did he look me in the eye or say hello. I decided to bring this up to the manager. I wrote to one of the assistant managers named Simon Sung. I never heard back from him.

We booked the hotel through the company's website, so it is possible that Mr. Sung felt there would be no consequence even if he did not address my issue. He likely thought that with our direct booking, their mistreatment of us would go unnoticed. That is why I am urged to write this review and to warn future travelers to make better choices.

Dear ConnieP, First and foremost, we would like to thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on Tripadvisor regarding your recent visit. On behalf of the hotel, I would like to extend my heartfelt apologies for the negative experience that you had with our room condition and guest service. Your valuable feedback is of utmost importance to us. Our sincere intention is to provide only the highest quality of service and hospitality, and of course we respect women as the same as all our guests; we even themed one of our guest floor “SHE” as ladies’ privileged floor. For the room cleaning standard, order taking effectiveness, staff greetings and helpfulness, we are sorry to hear that you perceived them differently from what we would like to provide. Rest assured that the management is right on it with this matter, and measures would be made by concerned parties for further rectification. It is truly my deep regret which failed to provide you a satisfactory stay, and we hope this incident would not hinder your intentions to visit as we look forward to welcoming you back to witness our improvements in the near future. Please do not hesitate to contact me at: fom.hkwh@kewgreenhotel.com, I will be most pleased to assist with. Sincerely, Angela Mak Operation Manager

I stayed at Kew Green Wanchai for 10 days for a business occasion on HK Island side. I can't remember what type of room I booked. I'm pretty sure it was probably one of the standard room but I ended up with a very big an comfortable room on the ladies floor. I can guarantee anyone that this hotel has bigger room than normal hk hotel. They have a retro style decoration, which I think is very stylish and gives a very comfortable vibe. My room is so spacious and even have colour lights that can change with a controller. And there's a very large desk, which is perfect for a business stay. I have stayed in a hotel where they only provide a desk but not a chair. I was very confused with that.
The house keeping staff was so nice and sweet. She gave me 5-6 water bottles a day after room make up. This is so impressive because most hotels are super stingy with their bottled water (I have no idea why).
The hotel provided a bathrobe and iron, which is quite rare from my experience.
The smoke free regulation is truly smoke free as I never once smell cigarettes on my floor (which i do sometimes at other place).
The location is very prime and accessible to food and transportation. Wifi is very fast and stable all the time.
Overall I had the best stay in HK hotel so far. I would definitely book this place again for both business and staycation purpose. I would rather say this place is 4.5 star instead of 4. Very recommended.

I'm on Day 10 of my quarantine stay at the Kew Green. I originally chose the hotel because of the location, as well as the fact that rooms have windows that open, a bathtub, refrigerator, and allow outside delivery. From my window, you can see the tram tracks. It's a short walk from Wanchai MTR. After 10 days, I can say that this would be a great choice for any type of hotel stay in Hong kong!

My experience with the kind and efficient staff started with my arrival. From the staff at check-in (thanks, Simon) to the floor attendant (Lisa, you are amazing!), everyone is very kind and does their job efficiently and with great attitude.

The comfort room has a large, comfortable bed with good quality linens. For quarantine purposes, unlimited bottled water is supplied. The size of the room works perfectly for one person confined to the room 24/7 for the 14-day quarantine period.

I would choose this hotel again for either quarantine or regular stay, and have already recommended it to a number of people for quarantine stay!

Thank you, Kew Green, for making my (first) hotel quarantine experience as pleasant as possible!

The stay at Kew Green was splendid overall. The front desk staff was welcoming and the Chief Concierge Bo was always ready to assist my needs during the stay. Housekeeping was good and quick in cleaning my room before I got back to the hotel after being out all day. Even one time I forgot to turn off my do not disturb light and was surprised that they even can make up my room in the early evening if I request.
There's a little computer area by the lifts if you need to use but there is a small charge depending on how long you need to use it. If you need something printed the front desk staff can help as well.
The local trams and MTR is nearby and if you need a taxi Bo can help you arrange one or help you get one outside the hotel. Very helpful indeed.

We arrived just after 2pm and the checking process was quick and seamless. We were even lucky enough to get a complimentary room upgrade. The staff at this hotel are very accommodating and friendly, especially Kevin on the front desk. He was very informative and helped us to quickly familiarise ourselves with the local area. Nothing was too much. The staff in the Kew Space restaurant were also very friendly. The hotel is definitely 4 star standard and is very clean, quirky and smells great! This hotel is perfect for the solo traveller, couples and families. Such a nice hotel for a very reasonable price. It was very straightforward to travel from the airport to the hotel. You can buy a single but preferably a return ticket on the airport express as it is cheaper. This takes around 30 mins. Get off at Hong Kong station and get the complimentary shuttle (H1) shuttle to the hotel. This will take you around a further 20 mins. If you need to get around town, you can pick up an Octopus card (especially if you are staying for up to or more than a week) at any MTR station. This card is accepted on the MTR, trains, trams, taxis and is also accepted in most stores, shops and restaurants.

The hotel is situated in a great spot in Wan Chai. Just minutes walk away from the MTR which will take you straight down to the main buzzing shopping area at Times Square (Causeway). Mong Kok is another great area where you can access local markets and shops. Only 2 stops away, you will find Central. Here you can find all your modern shops as well as some amazing eateries and bars (Peel Street).

We look forward to coming back in a month or two.

I like the location of this hotel. Most of the food places are within quick walking distance, like less than 5 minutes for most. Transport is also convenient with the MTR a few minutes walk from the hotel.
The hotel has a small coffee shop on their mezzanine floor where you can get away from your room if you like and do some work without being too noisy.
My bedroom was a bit compact but in Asia unless you pay for a suite most standard rooms are on the small side but you save money. Bed was comfortable and pillows were ok. Not much street noise can be heard. I also like that they have a bathtub and shower to use.
Will stay again.

Hi. There is an in house restaurant on the second floor of Kew Green that isn't bad. However, you better option is to simply order delivery through deliveroo and foodpanda. The Wanchai area is teeming with good and reasonably priced restaurants and the staff at Kew Green will gladly receive and bring deliveries up to your room.

Depends of the passport you'll be using when entering Hong Kong. Most major country passports don't require a visa to enter including North American passport holders but if you hold a passport from another region you should check with your local consulate to be sure.
