The room was adequate for the price I paid. It faced the Race Course. Housekeeping kept the room clean throughout my 4 days stay and service was good. There was a young trainee at the reception during my first day there and he tried to avoid eye contact when I tried to get some service. I think he was just extremely nervous. Knowing a little Cantonese would go a long way but the staff could speak basic English. My rate came with breakfast and it wasn't anything to shout about. Just some noodles, porridge, a variety of store bought breads etc. A 2* hotel breakfast. The waiters and waitresses were very nice and accommodating. Location was good and it was relatively easy to get a taxi. Would recommend for a short business stay.

Excellent location. Friendly and very helpful staff. Always available to answer questions and help where possible. Close to Wan Chai shops and eating places. Just across the road from the Hong Kong Jockey Club. Nikki was exceptional as an Ambassador for the hotel.

Good location, good view of the horse race course if you select this room type. The hotel does show its age Very convenient and frequent shuttle services to various key locations. Small lobby, small restaurant, feel crowded. Breakfast items the same everyday, if you stay for a few days, could get very boring. Small restaurant means you could run into people with plates in your hands, and sometimes forced to share table with other hotel guests. You are lucky if you see a bartender working in the small lobby bar

The stay in Dorsett Wan Chai is definitely pleasant and hustle free. The staff's efficiency to provide assistance is just none to others, speaking of Hong Kong's style of efficiency. At first i am a bit wary on the location since it is quite a distance from MTR station, especially i was traveling with small kids. Anyway, the walk from hotel to MTR is quite pleasant and passing lots of interesting places, shops and eateries so the walk is always easy and safe. Taking taxi is another options, not too expensive and the hotel do provide shuttle bus. The room is well done and provides us a comfortable sanctuary after a full day walk in HK. Would recommend to stay there again.

Made a group booking directly through the hotel email, and Niki was super accommodating with every request that I made. The hotel was nice too, quite spacious for Hong Kong standard. I really had a nice time there, the front desk and housekeeping are friendly. Special mention to Niki who really help me a lot and very thoughtful 😊😊

I love the friendly service, clean rooms, and great amenities. However the noise was too much that it’s impossible to get a good night’s sleep at this hotel. They gave us a room facing the race course on the 16th floor and there’s a constant highway noise that just won’t let you sleep.

This was my second time staying in Dorsett Wanchai. Due to the wonderful experience the first time back in 2019, we decided to go back to stay in this hotel this time round. Jophy Yau was very polite, pleasant and informative at our check in. Her tone and her demeanour was extremely welcoming. That was a great start! First impression always counts. There was a wine festival going on in HK at the time. Dorsett Wanchai was very kind and generous to invite us for the complimentary happy hour wine & canapés during our stay. It was free flow and Agnes Yau kindly assisted to help us take numerous pictures until I was satisfied (yes.. it's the demanding me) for our lovely memory due to the beautiful almost full moon visible from inside the lobby. We needed information for the hairy crab joint as some of them were unfamiliar and directed us to concierge (however, the concierge were pre-occupied). Agnes took the initiative to assist us in seeking the information while we sat comfortably enjoying our happy hour wine. She then explained to us that she found the restaurant that is highly rated and offered to book both the complimentary shuttle bus from hotel and a table in the restaurant. She also printed a map leading to the restaurant for us without us needing to ask for it. It's very good as I prefer to look at paper map than just phone map as I can view overall at one glance without needing to zoom in or shift the map around in phone. When I needed assistance at check out, both Jophy and Agness welcomed me again and ensured that I was comfortable without needing to rush so badly although kindly advising me that the room was needed at a specific time for other guests. Very well planned and organised. The housekeeper Bobo was so welcoming, cheerful and gentle. Whenever we crossed path with each other in the morning, she would greet us and asked us with the most welcoming smile and tone of voice if we need housekeeping service. She would also take time to make small conversation with us to enjoy our day and remind us to refill our water to keep ourselves hydrated and healthy. At our check out, she sent me well wishes, extend her future welcome to us and bid goodbye with a bow. Really commendable character. I wish her good health and happiness always. The breakfast staff from the welcome to the waiters and waitresses were remarkable too! The male waiter (I'm so sorry I did not take his name. He was a tall man with quite a build) would always be placing an additional glass of water on the table for me stating that I would need water for my supplements. For 4 mornings that I was there, he did that for me. Every single morning. They would greet us when we enter the restaurant and bid us goodbye when we leave. What else can I say.. Every encounter was simply incredible. The people truly made the difference. That touch of personalised service. Thank you very much Dorsett WanChai. The last time we went to HKG was back in 2019 and we left the place with fondest memories. You made it happened again. We managed to bring back couple of lovely souvenirs from Dorsett Wanchai although our children weren't with us and we now will remember this hotel with warmest memories. …

Convenient to sanatorium hospital. Staff ok only. Didn’t speak much English and didn’t go out of their way too much. Busy and chaotic hotel. Restaurant super pricey - typhoon so no choice. Food so-so.

We had a good experience with Dorsett Wanchai and also want to highlight that the evening manager Anthony Ho's excellent customer service. We got in around 6pm and he saw that we had a 6 month old baby and had kindly upgraded us to the family suite so we would have a little more space with our baby. The second day we were in Hong Kong, there was a Typhoon level 8 and we felt taken care of at the hotel, they had made sure we had special meals for purchase and Anthony had given us a call at night to make sure we were ok. Restaurants and coffee shops were generally close, really only a 7-10 min walk, which if you are without kids is not an issue. Even for us it wasn't super inconvenient. Dorsett is actually closer to the Causeway bay MTR station, and there are shuttles almost hourly to both Causeway bay and Central. All in all we had a great experience with our baby for our first trip there.…
