Everything is excellent during my stay in this hotel. The food (with the Eat Well Plan) is hot and delicious, the room is clean. The staff here is friendly, polite and efficient. The daily necessities that they provide are more than enough. Everything is perfect. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends.
My quarantine at Penta was a lovely and pleasant stay. Food is good and services are good. I can tell the staffs are busy and there were times I can’t reach the front desk but they try their best to accommodate requests asap. Things were delivered quickly upon request. It’s a super quiet hotel where I can hardly hear any noises from next doors. I definitely recommend staying at Penta.
I booked this hotel after some friend's had stayed for quarantine and had recommended it. I'm glad I did! Check in was efficient. The room was spacious (it was only me staying) and had everything I needed for my one week quarantine period. More importantly, it was clean, comfortable and quiet. The food was almost 100% good. There were just 2 (breakfast) meals which weren't great, but overall, the quality was decent and tasted good. Meals were never cold and sometimes piping hot (especially the soup). It did seem wasteful (and not very environmentally friendly) to use so much plastic and polystyrene though. Food was delivered on time and notified it had arrived by a short ring of the doorbell. Any extras were delivered promptly (tea, coffee, toilet paper, towels etc). I had some things dropped off for me at Reception and they were quick in delivering to my door. I had no need to order food from delivery apps so cannot comment on this The internet was good. The window was not openable, but the A/C was fully operational from the bedroom control on the wall and there was an additional small fan provided. Bed was comfortable and curtains were black out (which was great for me personally). Check out time was confirmed the day before (to stagger guests checking out) All in all I can highly recommend this hotel for a quarantine stay.…
By far I've tried 3 quarantine hotels due to travel. For medium price range quarantine hotels, Penta is the best. The hotel is clean, food quality is good. The staff are very helpful in many ways. That's all you need. I recommended it to friends and relatives and they all completed the stay with positive feedback.
Anxious about quarantine well before going to Hong Kong, but this hotel changed my perspective and made it less intolerable for living like house arrest for 7 days. Hotel room is small but elegant, and the front desk is attentive enough to respond to all my requests promptly. Also, supplies delivered by my friends to the hotel were immediately sent to my room. Meals were good in general, with even surprising quality once in a while. Best choice given the price.
Recommended by friends, I stayed at Pentahotel Hong Kong for the compulsory 7 days hotel quarantine. It was definitely a good call! Hotel’s Reservations Call Centre respond to my emails were always efficient and professional. It’s important to provide arrival flight information when making reservations, my arrival to HKG was midnight and did not arrive hotel until 6am. Hotel has thoughtfully placed a sandwich in the fridge. Check-in process was smooth. Receptionist reminded about the mandatory routine body temperature checks (am & pm), self antigen test etc. All quarantine guests must handle all their own belongings and proceed to hotel by themselves. It’s a bit of a challenge as I have 2 large suitcases, 1 carry-on suitcase, 1 backpack. Need to organized well and gathered all my belongings to the room enterance; the given room key was only programmed to open the room door once! I was assigned to a room with a view overlooking Hollywood Plaza. Room size was as expected, not a large room but good enough for me. Most important the room is clean and no odour. Supplies of bottle waters, disposable cutleries, paper cups, instant coffees, tea bags, extra garbage bags… etc + antigen covid-19 test kits… information package about the quarantine stay, all can be found in the room. There’s an electric pot for hot water; No microwave but the delivered food generally hot enough and no need to reheat. I would give 8/10 for the food provided. The regular menu was well balanced, with vege and carbs. Though personally I always would like more vegetables but could not go without meat, so I didn’t want to order vegetarian menu for the 7days!! But if you can order food delivery from delivery apps …. I have not done this cos the food portion was quite generous and I didn’t have the cravings for other food. Although I didn’t have much interactions with hotel staff, I could feel their attentiveness from the kitchen staff, the on time delivery of meals, clearing of garbages etc.. Receptionist would call to room about the check out arrangement after confirming the 5th Day “negative” PCR test result. On the 7th Day, leaving quarantine room, hotel staff would call and meet at room. They need to unlock the lift for departure guests and kindly assisted to move out all the suitcases and belongings to departure floor, to the front of hotel and into the car. Homeward bound!! 😃 Thank you for staff of Pentahotel Hong Kong. Wishing you all happiness and good health! 🙏🏻🙏🏻…
This hotel really exceeded my expectations of what quarantine would be like. I'd like to highlight the help given to us from the manager (I didn't get his name) who checked us in and out, I can't thank him enough! Thank you for being so courteous and assisting us with our luggage in the middle of the night. We arrived at 1am with 6 pieces of luggage, exhausted. The manager made everything so easy for us. We were pretty much zombies when we arrived, as you know the procedures at the airport are quite draining. The hotel manager took care of us, explained everything very clearly and even helped us with the luggage. Everywhere else, they treat arrival passengers like a plague. The hotel made us feel like a million bucks. Every other thing was good also. I particularly liked the cheeky one-liners you can find inside the hotel. They put a smile to my face. You can feel that whoever designed or manages the hotel think of us as humans. They don't treat the establishment as another money-grabbing scheme. They actually care. You don't get that elsewhere, especially at this price point. Super appreciate it. There is an HDMI cable connected to the TV. You can easily hook your laptop up project to the TV. The audio is not that great though, as I think the TV is a bit old. You might want to bring your own speakers if you plan to binge watch shows for your quarantine. But the HDMI cable is a nice gesture, I have never seen other hotels do this. The food is not bad on most days. Dinner is usually better. Breakfast could be meh but you can find plenty of delivery options on the apps. They send it up right away - another awesome point. What can't the staff do, are they Superheroes? If I have to be a Karen and be super picky, there is one small thing this hotel could improve on. The ventilation in the bathroom. I'm not sure if this is because of covid, but seems like there is no ventilation in the bathroom. After a hot shower, the room can get humid. If you hand wash some clothes in there, it take quite a while to dry. But you can use their dryer or turn on the fan really high to overcome this. And they will change out your towels if you request. But yea if the bathroom is a bit less humid, it would have been perfect. Housekeeping and front desk are also angels. Every time we were on the phone, they were super nice to us. We had to clarify a few times of some testing procedures and they patently explained it. Whenever we needed something from Housekeeping, it was always, always promptly resolved. And also the room was super clean, spotless! I can go on and on about the merits of this hotel. If you have read this far, why don't you just book it already. Many other people have said this hotel is awesome. I would like to thank all staff in Penta Hotel Kowloon for working so hard to make sure we guests feel as comfortable as possible, during this quarantine. Along with the other great reviews on here, I also agree that they make quarantine more tolerable. Wishing you guys success in all your future endeavors!…
Day 3 of quarantine, so far so good From the moment I checked in everyone had been super nice and helpful - at 4:30am in the morning. Appreciate it. Decent size room, very clean, has most of the amenities you need inc. slippers and toothbrush. Blackout curtains (great for jet lag) and the shower are both great. Food always delivered on time, good portion size. My dad brought me some food and they delivered it to my room straight away, thank you. Only thing is the Wifi can cut off a bit, sometimes when I have conference call, but honestly it is good enough, and for this price point I don't think you can find anywhere else better. Thanks from room 1521
I booked into Penta Hotel Kowloon for my 21-day mandatory quarantine and would really recommend this hotel for those with a limited budget. I was on the Standard package, the catering was therefore a fixed 7-day menu (therefore repeated 3 times); the food was mainly half-HK style and half Western. All the 3 x 7 meals were of good variety in my view (some with at least slightly different variations of each other), and there was always a good amount of vegetables, at least compared with most hotels within the same price point. I understood the food was prepared in-house, without MSG, for my palette the meals were often tasty enough (in particular the Chinese braised beef) and arrived at least warm, sometimes hot. One thing to point out though was that the meals on this package are quite carb-heavy. The size of the room was spacious for the price (22 sqm), it’s very clean even under the beds because I followed other ex-residents’ suggestion and rotated one of the twin beds to make space in the middle of the room; and although the windows cannot be opened, as I was allocated the south-western side my room had plenty of sunshine throughout the day which was pleasant and helped lift my mood every day. The staff were polite and friendly when I spoke to them over the phone. Items from my family were always delivered promptly to my room, within around 10-20 minutes of them being submitted. The immediate area of the hotel has plenty of food delivery choices should one has the need. All in all I had a really good 21 days at Penta Kowloon and would stay with them again should I need to undergo another mandatory hotel quarantine. For the price point it is great value for money.…
As I am writing this review, I am currently in my last night of my 21 day quarantine. I stayed in a Penta Standard room with a King-size bed. Pros: - Contemporary Modern Decor - Clean - Great service and food always delivered on time - Spacious and comfortable rain showers - Desk space - Quiet/Good soundproofing - Lots of food options nearby Cons: - TV size left something to be desired (but understandable given price range) Room The room is quite accurate to how it is portrayed on the hotel’s website, no misleading exaggerations. The room’s not especially spacious, standard hotel room size you’d find anywhere but more importantly, I never felt claustrophobic during the entire quarantine period perhaps due to the relatively high ceilings and big windows. What’s most impressive is that given this size, they managed to design and fit a proper work desk which was incredibly useful and a large shower. The TV’s size left a little to be desired as I mentioned above but I have to consider the price I’m paying and what the competitors are offering so no complaints here. The TV isn’t so new and does not have smart TV functions so remember to bring a chrome cast/Apple TV. If you don’t have one (which I didn’t), bring an HDMI cable. The biggest surprise of the room was the rain shower which had enough water flow and was very comfortable, easily my most favourite part. The body wash & shampoo/conditioner included is basic and sufficient but wouldn’t be enough to satisfy most people with some level of standards, so bring your own. The washroom sink area is a bit cramped but mirrored door prevented it from feeling claustrophobic and the shower space more than made up for it. Overall the cleanliness of the room is very good, nothing scary you’d find in the traveller submitted pictures of other quarantine hotels in the same price range on trip advisor. I had a view looking at the mountain and that was also great. Lighting in the room was also tasteful and sufficient, something I’m picky about. No fluorescent lights and enough lighting options to bright up the room for productivity and dim enough to relax with a book and some music or a movie. Also to add, the room comes with a mini fridge and an electric kettle to boil water. It comes with the usual basic amenities such as toothbrushes, hair dryer, hand soap, body wash, shampoo/conditioner combo, towels, extra toilet and tissue paper etc. Food To be completely honest, the food wasn’t anything my mouth would water over but at the same time I didn’t have any complaints about either and given what I’ve seen other travellers have written and shown in other quarantine hotels in the same price range, I’m rather thankful. Otherwise I’d be ordering food deliveries every meal and if that’s the case, I might as well spring for a more expensive hotel. I had the Balanced Eats Menu 3.0 which was great, good variation of cuisine types, every meal would always have a side of veggies/salad or soup and the portion was more than sufficient (maybe except breakfast). Every day, you’d get a fruit at lunch (orange, apple or pear) and a box of lemon tea/oolong tea in the morning. Food was also delivered at almost exactly the same time every day. However, some may find the food taste a bit bland but this is subjective so bring some salt/pepper/soy sauce if you prefer strong tastes. Wifi Not gonna lie, you won't find any breakneck internet speeds here, especially if the hotel is at full occupancy. Internet speeds vary throughout the day. Faster in the mornings and slowest during the afternoons. However, it's still not too bad and sufficient to work and watch Netflix for those who are wondering. As of almost 7pm now, it's clocking in at 8.8. Mbps download speed. I also noticed that the internet connection does suddenly completely cut off for a few seconds and come back on quite often. Wouldn't know what time frame to share as a reference but was noticeable when I am working on the computer and playing games on my phone. The internet here is also firewalled so movie downloading options are limited and if it does manage to download, its quite slow. Service Service was quick and friendly over the phone. Any food or package deliveries were handled and sent to my room usually within 15 minutes. As I spent Christmas and New Years here in quarantine, I was gifted some Christmas cookies, ferrero rocher and a card. Conclusion Though I haven’t stayed in other hotels in this price range, but given what I’ve looked at researching online, I can safely say that Pentahotel is by far the superior choice compared to its competitors. My stay was very comfortable and I feel like I’m actually trying to look for cons while writing this review, so if you’re a traveller looking at quarantine options in this price range, I suggest you stop looking.…
