It was not that difficult to find this place. It housed a lot of cheap hostels and many good eateries. Located at almost centre of Tsim Sha Tsui and just a walking distance from MRT station. There were many Asians live here (I guess) like Filipinos, Indians, Bangladeshis, or Pakistanis. There were many competitive money changers here as well and if you want to change some cash, please survey the rates of each money changer. I changed AUD$100 at a money changer far away from the main entrance and had a very good rate, as compared to those money changers nearby the main entrance of Chungking Mansion.

Also known as Chungking Mansion, this place had some questionable activities happening in the building. My sister and I stayed in section C and although the rented apartment was decent the building is not at all kid or family friendly. The least of our worries was that it was roach infested and actually had signs of rodent extermination posted in the elevator. There were groups of drunks sitting and gambling at a round table throughout the night and into the morning. There was a loud questionable party in the apartment next to us with single men and couples walking in and out. And although I did see a few other families with kids there, there was always a look of insecurity on their faces. We wish we would have done our research better and just stayed in the Holiday Inn a few feet away.

This is seriously the worst place you could possibly stay in while in Hong Kong. The room we got did not look anything like the ones on the pictures, and the standard was simply terrifying. So much dirt and dust in the room. The toilet were simply so horrifying that I chose to do my business on a nearby restaurant instead. Needless to say this is not somewhere you want to stay. I prepaid for two days but left after the first, which I´m confident, honestly, was the best decision of my life!

We arrived in Hong Kong in the morning and took the MTR going to Tsim Sha Tsui. We arrived to this place called "Chungking Mansions" in Nathan Road and waited for the Airbnb host named "May". She wears eyeglasses and her hair is short. Please remember her. May is not very accommodating to her guests, she just texts to her phone contacting someone all the time. In this building, the lines at the elevators are very long. The elevators are very small and a group of 4 people were MOVING OUT, transferring lots of boxes and everything. It was crazy. We arrived at the 8th floor expecting we can finally rest in our reserved room but May told us she would transfer us to another Airbnb accommodation. My parents and I got pissed with her because we were so exhausted and she told us to just wait. We waited for a couple of minutes. May is not a very nice woman and she would be pissed when you try to complain to her. Very bad service. After that, she accompanied us to another building called James S. Lee Mansion in Prat Ave. which is 10 minutes away from Chungking Mansions. We finally got a room there.

I needed to arrive late - after 1am - so I called the manager who assured me would have a room for us. I also called Booking.com and they also called the manager who made the same assurance. At 130am we arrived at the hotel - broken elevator- so we walked 6 flights of stars to get to the 24hr desk - and no one there! We called the phone, buzzed, pounded on the door and no one came. This went on for an hour - we caked Booking.com who also could not reach the manger. At 3amy wife and I called ever hotel we could - no rooms! At 6am we finally found another hotel to take us. What a nightmare. This hotel is dishonest and dangerous. They lied to Booking.com and to me. My wife and two kids needed to spend the night at a 24 McDonalds searching for another hotel. The hotel itself is in a seedy location and my 15 year old son was propositioned for both sex and drugs during the course of waiting for a manger that never came. I cannot stress how terrible he location and manger is - dishonest and dangerous. Do not stay here!
