Strategically located in Sha Tin, with a mere 5-minute walk to the MTR Shek Mun Station (Ma On Shan Line), the 524-room Courtyard by Marriott Hong Kong Sha Tin features stylish rooms with tranquil views of the Shing Mun River, offering innovative and practical choices to make your stay energized and productive.
Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Booked 6 nights, 5 nights on points and 1 paid night over Chinese Lunar New Year. Very reasonable pricing.
Hotel is a distance from Kowloon and HK island, but not bad from the airport by Uber (35-40 mins) due to lack of traffic and good intercity roads. Closest MTR station is Shek Mun, about a 5 mins walk and around 30 mins into Tsim Sha Tsui.
We were upgraded to a room on a high floor facing the river. Room was a decent size by HK standards, king bed that was comfy. Bathroom had a shutter window, shower was quite dated but the temperature and water pressure was great.
Breakfast was complimentary for Titanium elites and served on MoMo cafe on 2F. It was a circus every morning by 8, so GO EARLY. Decent selection, I especially loved the noodle station, which was manned by a nice lady, allowed a choice of HK-style noodles, vegetables and toppings. Also had an omelette station and decent selection of fresh vegetables and fruit.
Gym was on the 3rd floor, along with a nice lap pool. It was quite cool the week we were in HK so the pool was mostly closed. Gym was decent (see photos). Sauna was not working but the steam room was nice and HOT!
Executive lounge is on the 30th floor and quite nice and has a nice view of the bay. They serve decent hors d’oeuvres and light bites after 5pm. Coffee and drinks always available. I also got good use of the business center on the ground floor, nice desks that enabled me to work with nearby power and restrooms.
All in all, a great choice for business travelers or leisure travelers that do not mind staying a bit outside the center of town. Would stay here again.

I am a very fussy traveller and I have travelled a lot of places in Asia and Europe. I normally stayed in slightly higher than mid-range to five stars hotel and I am extremely hypercritical on the reviews I made. I spent 5 wonderful nights in Courtyard Marriot Shatin HK post pandemic and I have very little negative to comment. Room was upgraded to river view (fantastic views both day and night) and the amenities provided in the bathroom was of good quality and adequent supply. What I like most is probably the location. Quiet location with great jogging/walking tracks along the breathtaking Shing Mun River just across the road were so amazing. I had a great walk all the way to Tai Po and couldn't get enough of it. Courtyard Marriot is also very convenient from HKIA. A bus ride is just outside the airport and in just 3 stops, you will be at the hotel's door step. Plenty of eateries and shops and the MTR station (Shek Mun) is just a casual 8 min walk away. If only the hotel reception guys are more friendly and approaching, I think Courtyard Marriot Shatin is so underrated and needs to be placed as the frontier guys of a great hotel in the New Territories area. I will be back!

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The check-in process was smooth and the staff were incredibly accommodating. Our room was spotless, with a bed so comfortable and soft, clean sheets that made it hard to get up in the morning. The room smelled lovely, and the shower and bathroom were sparkling clean. To top it all off, the location was perfect—just three blocks from the MTR and with city buses right across the street. We’ll have very fond memories of this stay for a long time. Highly recommend!

I order in-room dinning breakfast and request to arrive at 10:45am-11:00am timeslot.
Finally , the staff sent it at 10:35am. At that moment, I was in bathing and come out with wet hair.
Then, this sloppy staff took out the dishes and put directly to the desk. She mentioned that the room service trolley needs to take away. She was in a hurry way and refute all my reasonable request all the time.
She made two serious mistakes:
1. She should ask the client where to set up the room service trolley ask the table and place the tableware well.
2. She put all food away from the heater, so the food will be cold very quickly.
3. The pepper bottle was empty and salt bottle was moist (salt can't come out)
I would like to raise one question to Mr. Peter Sih (General Manager of Courtyard Hong Kong Sha Tin), do you really understand why the in-room breakfast needs to cost $240? You are selling not only food, service is one of the important issue.

The best and fastest way to get to the hotel is to catch the A41P bus from the airport and hop off at Shek Mun Bbi - Ravana Garden stop, the hotel is just across the road, HK$29 from airport to hotel and HK$23.40 to airport from hotel. Reception is spacious and very tidy. Michael the concierge was very helpful. There is a free shuttle at 10.30am to New Town Plaza shopping centre, and Tsim Sha Tsui (Middle Road), there is a limited number of seats, if you can't get on there is the 12.05pm, 2.30pm, 4.05pm and 6.45pm shuttle. Best start queuing at least 15 to 30 minutes before departure, check with concierge which is the correct queuing area. Return shuttle is at the drop off points, take a photo of the timetable before you leave. Being a Titanium Elite Lifetime member doesn't get you much of an improvement in upgrades, the hotel rooms are small and dated and need urgent renovating, the ceilings were water damaged, peeling paint falling away, and the silicone in the showers needed replacing as it was showing signs of mould. The housekeeping service need to vacuum under the beds more frequently than once a year, I'd dropped something and it rolled under the bed into a carpet of dust bunnies. The rooms are not soundproof, you can hear people talking and banging about next door and in the hallways. It is a smoke free hotel but some guests flouted this rule and smoked on our floor, we had to stuff towels under our door to keep the smoke out. The Club Lounge is small and food mediocre with the same menu rolled out each night. Buffet breakfast was good, but because the hotel is near the China border, there were quite a few mainland Chinese making it a rather messy and loud place to dine. We took a short break in Bangkok where service with a smile is paramount, and coming back to Courtyard Sha Tin, the surliness of some of the staff was extremely apparent, perhaps it's a Hong Kong thing.

Stayed at the Courtyard Sha Tin for two nights as a Bonvoy Titanium and was accommodated in a twin river view room after communicating my preference for two beds ahead of time. The property was easily accessible from HKIA by bus (A41P) and there were also frequent bus services to Mongkok and the TST area (87D) which took no more than 30 mins on the highway, although the MTR Shek Mun station was also a short walk away. We had a good stay and the property was excellent value for its price point and location. The room was fresh and modern, with thoughtful furniture to allow two persons to have enough room to spread out. The beds were plush and comfortable. Breakfast was offered in the large MoMo cafe which had an expansive spread including made-to-order noodles and eggs. The L30 Executive Lounge had great views, and was a useful place to pick up drinks (though the coffee was somewhat burnt). There is a shuttle bus that runs to TST station albeit infrequently, which we would have used more often if we had made plans around it ahead of time. The vicinity of the hotel had various dining options, including an adjacent McDonalds and two malls in close walking distance. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for Bonvoy elites looking for a place to stay in Hong Kong. Even though it's more distant from the city center, it is accessible and offers exceptional value.

The hotel is located quite some way off from the city but Bus A41P and the Shek Mun Station make travel to the Airport and the city easy. The hotel is good overall with nice, clean rooms and a very friendly housekeeping staff. The pool, however, is closed for 6 months a year and this is absolutely ridiculous given that most hotels of this star rating should offer a swimming pool by default around the year. Also, the staff at the restaurant reception are quite blunt and rude and don't allow you to take even a bowl of yoghurt up to your room. Apparently, this might bankrupt the hotel. Quite frankly, with the money you pay for a Marriott room (and being a Bonvoy member), incidents like that are quite off-putting.

I arrived the hotel on 1 August for my 7-day quarantine in Hong Kong and booked a room for King bed with river view; also rented a exercise bike (HKD700 for 7 days) and bought a yoga mat from hotel (HKD100). The room condition is clean and good except that some furniture or wall looks a bit old. The river view with many trees downstairs looks nice.
The hotel prepared 12 bottles of 1.5L water, 3 rolls of toilet paper, 3 boxes of tissue paper, slippers, disinfectant, small bag of washing powder, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc.
Before arriving hotel, I have received Microsoft form from hotel to choose the meal for the coming 7 days. The food is not really good but comparatively, still acceptable... we will have one fruit every dinner and snacks for every meal.
We can also order Deliveroo or Foodpanda and hotel staff will deliver the stuff to your room (their delivery speed is super fast, within 5 minutes upon the Deliveroo / Foodpanda arrived).
Everyday we will put our garbage outside our room at 2:45pm and the staff will collect at around 3pm.

If you don't mind changes of public transit to go downtown Hong Kong, this hotel has comfortable room with reasonable rates. Breakfast at Momo Cafe is a bit pricey but quite good, you can look for package deals to get a discount on breakfast inclusive room rates.
The down side is that this hotel is not entirely pedestrian friendly. The lobby is one floor up the ground access, no elevator but escalator to the lobby, imagine if you arrive hotel by public transit from airport and carry multiple baggage, could be quite challenging. This street access also has a time limit, opens between 6 am and midnight. Alternate access to the lobby on foot will be walking 3 flights of stairs at about 30 degree slope, hope you are fit. Of course this is a non-issue if you take taxi or drive.

Stay: November 2024 Room Type: Studio Suite Elite status: Titanium Elite Recommend Courtyard by Marriott Sha Tin: No.
Have stayed at a few Marriott properties in Hong Kong and regularly visit the city. This was my second visit to this particular property. I will not return because of what I consider a scam fee and cannot in good faith recommend others book this venue.
The issue: -I used a strong smelling spray in the common area. This smell dissipates within 3-5 minutes but was charged a cleaning fee. I own the fact I used the spray and should not have, but a smell that goes away in minutes by itself does not require cleaning. -When I discussed with staff they reduced the cost ($500) but still charged a fee, I am making sure the fee they charged me is the last money they ever get from me. -A business decision to earn $500 profit now over thousands from future stays also brings to question what other decisions they are making. -You may also be charged a cleaning fee if you use sprays, cologne, bring in smelly food or room service or break wind. Be warned.
The good: -Rooms are clean and the venue is quite new. Well taken care of. -Staff were friendly and helpful -Breakfast in restaurant has quite a large selection (similar to the Courtyard Hong Kong in Sai Ying Pun).
The not so good: -Location is far from the city in Hong Kong standards. It is around a 8 minute walk to the nearest station and then roughly 30 minutes to get to places like Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok and closer to 40 minutes to get to Central. -Club Lounge gets very busy during happy hour, can be difficult to find a seat. -No universal plugs in hotel room so travellers must have power adaptors to charge devices etc.
Summary: The facilities at this venue are similar to other select service Marriott properties in the region. It is clean and has wonderful staff (special shout out to the shuttle driver!) but the distance from town paired with risk of excess fees outweigh the benefits. Stick with Courtyard Hong Kong or perhaps The Mira in TST. If you wish to stay in the general Sha Tin area there is also a Hyatt near University station.
