Hotel's Favorite
Since we are fans of Design hotels, our choice for our stay in Hong Kong was easy, there are three hotels who belong to this very heterogeneous group. While we had originally planned to stay just two nights in each one, the wonderful welcome we received at the Mira Moon persuaded us to extend our stay there multiple times.
The Mira Moon is a boutique hotel with breathtakingly beautiful design: Chinese wooden inlays and mosaic floors and walls with flower and nature motifs starting in the small entrance hall on the ground floor with its wonderful huge Chinese lanterns hanging from the ceiling, extending to the reception area higher up and into the rooms, with marble flooring and mirrored doors. An extra perk that we really appreciate is pocket wifi for every guest so we didn't need an extra SIM card for our stay here.
The people who designed and renovated the Mira Moon made superb choices in our view with large very comfortable bedding, practical use of closets hidden behind Asian looking woodwork, luxurious marble flooring, spacious bathrooms with practical showers.
But what really convinced us to stay longer was the superb service that started even before we checked in. When we first stopped by a day before our reservation, Kevin greeted us in a very friendly way in the entrance room on the ground floor and made us aware of the very impressive design elements right from the start. He encouraged us to have a drink in the restaurant cafe on the 3rd floor where Ariel and Lisel treated us to a drink and chatted about the friendly atmosphere of the hotel.
Thanks to Kevin, Ariel, and LIsel we decided to book two additional nights (and reserved the largest "full moon" room with a view of Victoria Harbor on a higher floor). We had chosen the smallest room size, a "half moon" room without a harbor view on a lower floor for our first night. Yu, the friendly young lady at reception, checked us in after the charming manager Koey upgraded us so we wouldn't have to change rooms. Koey showed us our room with all the amenities and then helped keep us calm when we thought we had lost one of our bags with valuables - we later found it on the floor under the beautiful bed runner! Ariel and Zac were very friendly in the Supergiant hotel restaurant both in the evening and at breakfast.
Janet provided us with helpful tips about where to eat and what to do, thanks to her we enjoyed a superb Japanese dinner at Zoku and an extraordinary brunch with entertainment at Hutong. And she's a wonderful teacher, too, helping us learn a few Cantonese and Mandarin phrases and thus gain smiles and thumbs up from the people we met.
We returned again towards end of our tour of Hong Kong and China's Pearl River Delta for a final night at Mira Moon. Yet again we were given a very warm welcome back and another upgrade and made to feel as if we were really coming home. When we finally checked out for the last time, the front desk manager volunteered to call the next design hotel we booked so that we could get an early check-in: true five star service!
We'll definitely be returning to Hong Kong in future - there's so much left for us to see and experience - and we'll definitely choose Mira Moon again as a favorite place to stay due to comfort, design, and above all extraordinary personal service.

Located in Causeway Bay, Mira Moon has its pros and cons. Some moments felt lacking for 5 star hotel while other little caveats made up for it.
Location itself was great, centrally located to lots of great restaurants and near Times Square. The hotel itself is designed beautifully, along with the rooms. The modern, oriental design was a great touch. Upon arriving, I was helped with my luggage to the check in area. As I had made two different reservations with two different room types and did not want to change rooms the next night, I was willing to take a downgrade in room on my first night. Mira Moon was gracious enough to upgrade me for the second night so I wouldn’t have to change rooms. Unfortunately the room was not ready yet so I waited in the lounge area where candy and coffee is available. When it was ready, Janet assisted me with my luggage and showed me to my room. She gave me a run down of where everything was and insisted for me to reach out if I needed anything.
The view from the room was great and it was quite spacious. I enjoyed the giant tub that was available and the bottled water that they provided. They also had dental kits available in case you forgot to bring your own. Their gym was small but enough, maybe more cardio focused with a few machines and some weights. The breakfast was the most basic continental breakfast with local fruits and fresh squeezed orange juice which I appreciated, but to charge 169 HKD for it is mind blowing especially since there’s amazing local food nearby. They do provide a pocket wifi which is also a great touch!
The bed wasn’t the comfiest and during my last night I realized the comforter was dirty with a stain but I left it since I was checking out the next morning anyways and just slept on the clean side. Overall it was an okay stay, my cab driver did point out to me that when he picked me up, for a 5 star hotel the service seemed to be lacking as no one helped my with my luggage to the cab. I didn’t think too much of that but I will have to agree.

The hotel is so comfortable. They are very accommodating coz when we realised the half-moon room had a queen bed, we needed an additional bed. As an elite Bonvoy member upon check in , I was told that the room is not ready and would have to way for a couple of hours , also they weee delighted to upgraded me to a suite . While waiting she said she will send me a message when the room is ready . Sure enough no message and only when enquired through the front desk again she said the room is ready . When arrived to the room that was exactly the room type I had booked not upgraded at all .
The hotel staffs are very fridges with no smile . No sense of being welcome . When delivering the water to the room as soon as you open the door will handed to you right the way with no greetings nor body language. The pillows are very uncomfortable and no choice . As a Titanium member no breakfast was offered . Anyway maybe it’s because it is a design portfolio. Conclusion staffs very unfriendly and not courteous as well as lack of professionalism.
I will definitely not returning and would not recommend to anyone .

I really enjoyed my stay at the Mira Moon Hong Kong! The service at the hotel was really top notch. I was at the end of a long and very busy business trip around Asia and needed to get some of my laundry done. Tarcy was able to connect me with a local laundry just a short walk down the street and then picked up the laundry for me the next day when I was in Guangzhou. To my surprise, they even put the clean laundry in my room waiting for me! They really went above and beyond. This is just one example of their great service.
The location is great, in Causeway Bay/ Wan Chai area. Lots of great food, views, and public transportation all within walking distance.
The rooms are very well decorated, comfortable, and spacious. It was one of the best hotels I have stayed at in a long time! Thanks for a great stay!

In my experience, Cecilia Poon, the hotel's receptionist, impressed me. From the moment I entered the hotel, she welcomed me with a warm smile and a professional attitude. Exceptional service provided even before we entered the hotel. 2 front-desk members rushed out to help us with our luggage and direct us to the service counter on the 5th floor. All staff encountered were courteous and extremely friendly and assisted us for all our needs, including where to get our clothes washed/cleaned.

Please to inform that the bathroom in our hotel guest rooms is separated with the bedroom by a wall and door which can not be seen from outside.
