Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighborhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamorous or busy as its neighbors Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighborhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighborhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.

Just like the other reviews, this place is a great gem in the heart of Kowloon. I arrived early morning from the airport. The lobby is smaller than what I'm used to for a hotel but their door man and service really compensate for it. I was able to use the restaurant restroom

We stayed here from 27/3 - 5/04 & I have to say the staff make this a very special place. Irene & Alex in the dining room are just a joy to see every morning for breakfast. Irene will greet you with a big smile & a wave as you arrive & both she & Alex will ensure you have

Reaching the hotel from the airport is very simple, through Cityflier bus, with bus stop just across the road. Staff are super polite and friendly. They guided us reg getting around. Great location, with nice eateries, and the oh so beautiful Kowloon park for the morning walks.

Stayed one night here, post cruise, Singapore to Hong Kong on Voyager of the Seas. Normal Checkin time is 2pm but the reception managed to accomodate us with an early checkin at 11am. Much appreciated. The room size is reasonable by Hong Kong standards. The entire crew,

You enter the hotel from the street level, and you can even see the reception from the outside - at the ground floor .- when looking through the big glass doors. There are two separate door entrances next to each other - one with just a one-step "stairs" and one with a slightly angled flat ground. The standard rooms are about 14 m²/151 ft² in size (the hotel website says: "120 - 170 sq. ft."), with a separate bathroom that even has a bathtub (though the website says: "Bathroom facilities with Bathtub or Shower Booth"), which is unusual by Hong Kong standard (you do not have to squat over the toilet like most other "standard room" hotels). All standard rooms should have windows (but try to get the ones that have a window to the side or main road), and I suggest you specify this when booking. My advice is to check out the pictures on the Shamrock Hotel (Hong Kong) page here on Tripadvisor in which you will see both hotel and visitor's photos of the entrance, the different rooms, bathrooms, etc. I have stayed at Shamrock Hotel two times now, and I highly recommend the breakfast buffet in the Shamrock Hotel Restaurant, either if you book with or without breakfast included - I think the extra cost separately if not included is HKS125 (including tips and tax).

We also booked through Agoda and didn't have the request for copies of our credit card. We've enjoyed our stays at the Shamrock, but I'd avoid sending copies of our credit card to anyone. The requested info re numbers, expiration date and confirmation code on the back of the card should be sufficient.
