This trip was arranged by our secretary and I was apprehensive at first to stay in this hotel after all the negative reviews i read from trip advisor. However, my wife and I were so fortunate to have had a wonderful experience at Empire hotel Wan Chai. True, the main lobby is under renovation and the temporary reception is located...

We stayed with 2 teenage boys & 2 younger boys (6 & 8). Location is NOT everything. Rooms on 6th floor were very moldy & musty smelling; not to mention the size of my current bathroom in my home. Yes, THAT small. Blood on the sheets upon check-in. Wouldn't even recommend for a crash pad. This is only a four-star...

This hotel is relatively more affordable than other hotels in the vicinity. It's quite close to the Wan Chai MTR station, making it accessible, and you can actually walk to the HK Convention and Exhibition Ctr. So if you are attending an exhibition there (in the HKCEC) buy do not want to pay through your nose for expensive hotels. this...

This hotel charged my credit card 3 times for a single night's accommodation. They charged the room rate when I booked, demanded a deposit of 1.5 times the rate when I arrived and when I left they stated that nothing had been charged to my account so I had to pay the bill. When I got home all 3 amounts...

Rooms were small, and pool was disappointing. As long as you are using it as a crashpad its ok. Reception area is nice and clean. we changed room as the first room smelt of damp, which they were really good about and wasn't an issue. staff were helpful and gave advice on local area and the star ferry was close...

Obviously those who have rated this Hotel as a top place to stay haven’t traveled very much, especially to Hong Kong! The Wan Chai Empire hotel is a far cry from nice place to stay in Hong Kong. Sure its walking distance to Wan Chai district,, LDS church etc. It’s sits in the center of the Nightclub area of Wan...

We stayed a long weekend at the Empire Hotel in Wan Chai. Our room was just large enough with a kingsize bed, bath with tub and all was immaculate. Tea and coffee as well as water were provided. The staff was extremely helpful in making dinner reservations, insuring we were efficiently picked up by a tour, and generally pleasant. They...

This hotel is cheaper compared to the nearby hotels around. The room space is comfortable and big enough for two people. It is walking distance to MTR, makes it convenient to roam around either HK or Kowloon side. I was there for business meetings, most of them are in Hongkong side, but I didn't have to take taxi, just took...

I booked this hotel at the last minute due to a last minute business trip. Bearing in mind i got a good rate, i shall be gentle. The good - central location. Just 3 mins walk to my office. Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
