Stayed 7 nights, 14th floor with a 2nd room next to ours for the teenagers - 1441 & 1443. A great view that was high enough to avoid the theatre complex on the shoreline so the light show was easily observed. Clean & functional with very good housekeeping & front desk staff eager to help. Check-in was originally not till... More

This has been my fourth visit to the Salisbury spread over 15 years. As you can guess I really do like this place, I even used to visit the old building when I was at school in Hong Kong. On this trip I decided to pay a bit extra and stay in a room with a view of the harbour... More

This place is definitely more hotel than YMCA. Lots of complimentary toiletries, comfortable bed, clean room. The location is great – right on the harbour, in a swanky part of town. A bit of a walk to the markets (i.e Temple Street, ladies Market, etc), but certainly doable as we did it a number of times during our stay. If... More

You get what you pay for. Its a Y through and through. The Y is extremely old (the carpet needed to be replaced 25 years ago), the carpet in our room was filthy, the curtains dirty and the whole place smelled musty. Their are so many people going to the Y (located through the lobby) that the "hotel" feels like... More

Stayed here over the extremely busy Christmas-New Years period with extended family of 10 in 3 rooms. Our corner family room with Harbour Views was superb and spacious. Excellent breakfast in cafe downstairs and walk to MTR and Star ferry and main shops. Had considered staying at Peninsula Hotel next door for 3x the price, but could not have been... More

Our family of seven (2 adults, 4 teens and a 4 year old) stayed at the YMCA Salisbury at the tail end of Dec 2009. We booked the Cathay Pacific package and stayed in 2 standard rooms. December being the peak season that it is, our travel agent said she could only book two rooms for us so we prepared... More

Centrally located at the tip of Kowloon peninsula, 2min walk to MTR, bus terminal and ferry to HK. Some rooms facing the beautiful Victoria harbour where the famous nightly light show (synchronized with music) can be viewed right from the rooms.

We stayed at The Salisbury-YMCA of Hong Kong from December 2-5, 2009 with myself, my parents, and my 4 year-old. We stayed in a corner room suite with a view of Victoria Harbour. The hotel is located on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong. It was near a lot of high end shops, like Gucci and Chanel. The staff was... More

First stayed November 2008. Did it again November 2009. Still consider YMCA to be quite good value for Hong Kong, considering location and view. Very clean, good housekeeping service. Pity some ‘enlightened official’ put that huge brick monstrosity (the convention centre) right on the waterfront blocking some of the view of this exotic and interesting waterfront – wouldn’t have been...
