Our stay at Harbour Plaza North Point hotel started off disappointing, but ended on a strong positive note. Before I begin, I recommend if you are staying at this hotel and you encounter any problem, you should report it to the front desk immediately, but don’t stop with that, as some staff are not good at responding. We initially reported our room issues, which had to do with the smell of cigarette smoke in our room, to two of the staff and they ignored our problem, but I tried a few days later with front desk Manager Danny and he was very professional and quickly resolved our issues. Unfortunately, it was a few days later when things were addressed, but glad that Danny was still very responsive and helpful, and merited changing from a lower rating to 4 stars

The hotel room was clean, spacious and quiet. We have stayed here multiple times and tried the city view once and this time we tried the harbour side view and I would recommend paying a little extra for a view of the water. It’s quite nice and seemed quieter than the city side. For room types, we have stayed in both rooms and suites and think that the suite is worth the extra money, getting your own living area, small dining area and kitchen is great for longer stays.

The hotel itself is older so you’ll notice the aging decor and some of the equipment, notably the fridge, are not quite 100% cold, we tried to keep our milk and leftovers in the fridge and the temperature was not low enough and everything went bad by the morning, but it’s enough if you just want to chill your drinks.

There are some offers on the hotel website, which can include breakfast, which can be worth it, as the hotel restaurant meals are relatively expensive if you purchase them separately, even with the hotel guest discount. We had the hotel lunch and breakfast each once, and they were both very good, lots of options, including some made-to-order stations. There's quite a bit of seafood, if you enjoy this, and lot of Chinese-style cuisine, and

Due to the rainy season, the pool was sometimes closed and sometimes open. It was unpredictable, sometimes we would change into bathing suits after being told the pool was open, just to be told that the pool would be closed again after just one hour of being open. Not the fault of the hotel, just something to be aware of. The gym facility was good as well.

We choose Harbour Plaza NP for the good value and location, right next to the Quarry Bay MTR, and next to bus stops and the tram, it is definitely one of the best hotel values on Hong Kong Island, and as I mentioned earlier, what impressed me was the Front Desk Manager Danny, who personally called me a couple times and made the effort to meet me in person to make sure everything was fine. That is pretty outstanding.

It is an excellent hotel in terms of location, with easy access to everything. The breakfast is good. Though the corridor carpet looks like an Egyptian hotel, the suite is spacious. Workers throughout the hotel are nice and friendly(except as below). Housekeeping is done timely with no disturbance to us.

However, if you are not well prepared, you will be in for surprises. The entire hotel suite we rented has not one single international electric outlet, not one even in the washroom where men need to shave in the morning. There are only two USB outlets in the entire suite. If you are not well prepared with extra travel adapters, etc, you will be out of luck with your devices.

Next is the total lack of bathroom supplies for monthly renters. Yes: no shampoo, conditoner, or hand cleaner! After a long flight, you asked the concierge whether he can spare some for one night, and he would matter of factly said there is a Wellcome Store near by where you can get these supplies. First night, lotion shopping 9 p.m. in Hong Kong, yuck! The kitchen supply is also minimal. A swiss knife set will be of great help.

We speak as a month renter. May be the daily renter's experience is different. In all, if you are well prepared, it is a very good hotel to stay at.

Very convenient location, as close to MRT station, ding ding trolleys and bus stops directly outside. Although away from most tourist attractions they were easy to get to and the transport was very cheap.
Side harbour view room on a higher floor had a good view but room was very small and outdated. There was a utility area with sink, microwave, cutlery and a few dishes which could be useful but we felt it was a waste of space and would be better as the wardrobe which would then make the room bigger. Very difficult to access one side of wardrobe as blocked by bedside table.
The breakfast buffet had a good selection and was reasonably priced. It was rather busy when we were there as there were a few school parties staying.

Hotel next to funeral home
1. The hotel is adjacent to the "Hong Kong Funeral Parlor". If you go to attend a funeral or lay incense, it is convenient to stay in this hotel.

2. Think about it relatively; if you don’t want to sleep next door to someone who has “passed away” when staying in a hotel, then think about it.

3. The hotel cooperates with the "Hong Kong government departments that are daydreaming about economic development" and requires "all hotels in Hong Kong" not to provide tourists with "bottled water", "toiletries and supplies" for free, but if they purchase them from the hotel Yes, as long as you pay extra, it's okay. This is a "disguised place where you're crazy about money."

4. Electricity in Hong Kong uses three-phase 220-volt sockets, but this hotel does not provide power adapters. If you are traveling from countries and regions that use 110-volt electricity, travelers who want to come to Hong Kong must decide on their own "Mobile phone power for this trip" "Is it enough?" Come travel to Hong Kong and stay at the Harbor Plaza North Point.

5. When checking into a hotel, I asked the front desk staff to make arrangements because the hotel had newly renovated rooms. As a result, the front desk staff said that I had to "pay extra to check in."
(I’m really crazy about money).
On the contrary, after checking into the room, I saw a 07-30/May/2024, hotel maintenance notice, asking guests to be tolerant; then why not give a discount.

6. "Air, water, and sunshine" are necessities for people to live in the world, but it is foolish for tourists coming to Hong Kong to control water, one of these necessities for life, to cause serious trouble because of "plastic reduction as an excuse for environmental protection." Act of. My sincere and conscientious advice is that "Hong Kong area" is a place not recommended to go.

The hotel is very dated and needs an upgrade. Our issues started at check in, when the member of staff advised that our booking did not include any room details. This is despite our booking clearly stating a City view double room. We were told fairly abruptly that there were no double rooms available and that we would have to have a twin room and no apology. The food at breakfast wasn't great either and we skipped in on our final day. The bar closes at 23.00 and 'last orders' are at 22.30. We arrived back one night at 22.35 and was told immediately that we had missed last orders, but that we would be permitted just one drink each and no more. Some of the staff were just rude and nit approachable and as for the Wifi, forget it. It is appalling. In this day and age you expect WIFI to be readily and easily available. It was very very poor and in the end we gave up and used our data roaming which comes at an additional cost. All in all, we did not enjoy our stay at the Harbour Plaza and I wouldn't return.

I did not enjoy my stay in this hotel. I was put on a floor that was stinking of smoke and where the next day they started changing the wall paper and it looked and smelled terrible.
The laundry service is horrendously expensive and I was forced to go down to the reception to pay for it to have it delivered, they would not wait until I checked out because no deposit had been taken when I had come in the day earlier, as if it was my problem.
At the time of my arrival the escalator was not working and the night guard... was sleeping.
The state of the plugs in the bedrooms is poor and none by the bed so good luck if you want to charge anything close by.
Breakfast is acceptable. Areas fairly convenient with the subway nearby and a 7-Eleven which will save you because you have no room service.

My family had encountered serious problems in these areas: cleaningess, services and people attitudes. Presently in house till 5th Aug but every day is a nightmare with the cleaningess. Upon check in starts already the hotel does not give importance to its customers/cleaningess. They were send to room for checking if the level of cleanliness is ok for my family which is soo bizarre, they had visited at least 5 rooms but still not to standard (smelly, dusty, oldysh) We demand to check out on the spot and get a refund which didn't accept it. I had spoken to manager Danny who didn't quiet understand my English and the situation who careless in fact. Also spoken to another Manager Wong who I believed was very unprofessional/inexperienced we had the video call. On the first night my kinds when to bed surprisingly we found stains in few areas of bed sheets.. Hairs...
Spoken to Asst Mgr Jenny over a video call to lodged the said but she literally careless instead she said I need to assist the housekeeping colleague to change the sheets as the person has no experience to do so. What.....de h...!
The Housekeeping does not change on daily basis the garbage bin and when u requested the said she replied in very impolite manner. My wife requested to have a plastic bag in the bin but was told by Hskp it's banned by Hong Kong Law to use plastic.
Next day strangely the plastic returns to its place.
We requested a late c/o and was given 1pm as the hotel is full and if later then that a charge is applied. We explained the horrible experience we had she finally granted till 15 pm but we really need till 16:30 but rejected.
As gesture of apology, they offered 2 breakfast + 2 Dinner Buffet. As they know the family compose of 3 peoples and just neglected the 3rd person. OMG what a service is too much to take of the 3rd one? After all the horrific experiences they been having!
They will be staying for 8 nights in the worst hotel in their lifes, so heart breaking.
Another 5 nights to suffer courage guys!

My wife and I stayed at the Harbour plaza hotel at North Point for 3 days and had a pleasant stay.
It's 5 mins walk from Quarry Bay tube station ( which is 6 stops-10 mins from Central) and on the same road as the Bus and electric (ding ding) tram. It has its own bar and restaurant on the 2nd floor, which is the same as reception.
The rooms are spacious and beds are very comfortable. We also had a great view across to Kowloon, that showed all the lights up at night from the 29th floor.

Breakfast is substantial with a wide variety of hot and cold buffet type foods, including a chef on standby to make omelette of your choice.

我因為有病去唔到依間酒店, 有曬醫生紙證明都唔比cancel booking, 仲叫我腥過去比佢睇下,腥完答我唔cancel 得… 咁你不如早講唔得,錢就識賺, blacklist!

I had to cancel my stay at this hotel due to a medical issue, and provided the required documentation as proof. However, the hotel staff claimed they would not issue a refund, even though it was not my fault. This was a huge waste of my time. The hotel seems to have no empathy for customers in unexpected situations. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone - their inflexible cancellation policy and poor customer service make it not worth the hassle.

I received extremely poor service from the management of this hotel. I mistakenly booked the wrong date but immediately realised this and contacted the third-party booking agent. The Hotel then refused to fulfil my wish to change the date (one day back) or to cancel my booking so I could book again with them on the correct date. The reason the Hotel Harbour Plaza Northpoint provided was that the management was not answering their phone, even though I called at lunchtime on Saturday. I followed up several times and received the same comment that they could not help me, and then they referred me to the fine print in the booking advice, indicating that a decision to assist was at management's discretion. I find it perplexing that, as a customer, I sought to stay in the hotel and pay a higher fee than the original and was honest and open about my simple mistake. Yet, management had zero interest in helping me rectify this and stay at the hotel. Customer support and satisfaction are not a priority for this hotel.
