I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights. The decor is dated but the rooms large. The good thing about this hotel is the location - the MTR, tram station and bus stop are all nearby. If you enjoy shopping, Sogo and Tines Square are nearby. There are also many eateries nearby that open until late at night. However, the food served during breakfast is mediocre and the reception staff who checked me in was not the most polite person in the service industry. Nonetheless, the rooms were kept clean. When I checked out after a week’s stay, the front desk was polite (different lady) and the concierge was helpful.
So glad to be upgraded to executive room, it is fantastic comfortable, riding exercise/gym bicycle is good before shower, free mini bar compliments after exercise as well. The view on 32 floor is great.
I was stuck in a massage salon which only accepted cash. I was not forewarned and I ended up in an argument with the manager, who called the police. I rang the hotel. I was desperate. Kathy Chan the Manager, offered to settle the bill for me from her own private account. I am so grateful. Kathy and the entire hotel staff are always happy to help. Kathy went far beyond. Hotel is very comfortable, spacious and close to everything. I’ve been coming to HK for 25 years and stayed in some great places but the Regal is now my HK haunt.
One of the worst hotel I have ever stayed! Fake “5-star” hotel with very old conditioned, poor maintenance, poor wifi room. I have checked in on my first day. Then suddenly a contractor knocked my door and wanted to complete the painting (please refer to photo). I was shocked and had to request them to postpone their maintenance (how can they check in a guest when maintenance of the room is not done? Can you imagine stay in the room with the smell of paint for whole week?). However, the worst is yet to come. They don’t have iron and iron board in the room so I requested for it. When it was delivered, I tried to iron my clothing. When I was preparing and left the iron in the cushion for 2-3sec, it left a mark on cushion. I was shocked (as it happened so fast) and I quickly lifted it and stopped ironing. I had to rush for my work therefore I left. When I returned to hotel at around 10.40pm+, my access card couldn’t work to access my room. So I need to ask for help from the reception, then this on-duty manager - Kathy came with me. After the access card was fixed, she wanted to enter the room with me to discuss some matter. She told me that the damage on the cushion is huge and she requested the damage fee of 8,000 HKD (I wasn’t joking…). It was late night, I was so exhausted and shocked with the quotation, therefore I told her that I will discuss and come back to you tomorrow. However, she was so rude and insisted me to solve it on the spot. She asked me how much money I have on hand that I can pass it on to her first. Of course I rejected, and I have to declined her multiple times before she was willing to leave. I found the staff was not only rude but scary (do they do this to solo woman traveller?). Luckily I have Hong Kong work colleagues who can help me. The next day, few of them came with me to the hotel to negotiate on the damage fee. We tried to negotiate in a reasonable way and asked for the list of quotation on why it ended up for 8,000 HKD. Unfortunately, the same manager told us there is no quotation, but the “usual pricing” for them to fix it (are they using me to do the maintenance for whole room? Please refer to the photo for the damage on cushion and it definitely doesn’t cost 8,000 HKD to replace it). Not only she was not willing to provide any item list or quotation for the damage fee that the hotel asked, the next question she asked was “How much can you pay for the damage?”. Again, we were shocked as this five star hotel was acting like a gangster who is asking how much you are willing to pay for the damage without any reasonable or list of evidence (for the initial quotation of 8,000 HKD). Long story short, at the end, she was willing to settle with 1,200 HKD (we were going to file police report if the case cannot be solved with the damage fee that we think is reasonable). I was angry, disappointed and shocked to have this horrible experience with Regal HongKong hotel. I will not recommend anyone to stay here and going through the bad experience again. Therefore I decided to write this review. If you are a traveller/expat/solo female, please be careful. They will rip you off if they can! I am so grateful that I have Hong Kong colleagues who helped me on this. Please refer to photos for the condition of hotel. Think twice before you book. And I hope you find a much better hotel who respect the guest and can offer you a great staying experience, not the one who left you the worst memory for hotel staying!…
Everytime our family decides to travel to Hong Kong, we choose to stay at Regal Hong Kong. And our visit this September 28, 2022 was no exception. It was a homecoming of sorts after 3 years of no travel due to the pandemic. Regal Hong Kong never fails to deliver - its proximity to almost anything (good food, shops, easy access to all kinds of transportation, etc.), its ambience, and the warmth, helpfulness and efficiency of the whole hotel team make it always the HOTEL OF CHOICE for us. My recent 17 day stay at this hotel with my daughter was made more comfortable and hassle-free by the care and concern given us by the abled, warm-hearted and efficient Ms. KATHY CHAN, Guest Experience Manager, who made sure that our needs were well-attended to. Ms. Lucy of Housekeeping was also very solicitous and attentive. The people at the Concierge were all familiar faces from our previous visits and serviced us cheerfully. Our flight back home on the 14th of October being an early morning one, we had to catch a taxi around 6am to bring us to the airport but no one from the Concierge was available to help us yet as they start only at 7am. The lady manning the Front Desk at that time, when we approached her for help, immediately got out to help us find a taxi, waited till one came along, and saw us safely off. KUDOS to Regal Hong Kong and its well-trained and very professional team! So, do you still wonder why we ALWAYS CHOOSE REGAL HONG KONG Hotel?…
A complaint to Daniel Cheung from Sales department. I never imagine such an unacceptable and terrible attitude to me as I was potentially having a long stay at Regal Hong Kong for over 3 months. Even you do not want a business deal like this, you should not badly treat anyone. I called for enquiry and had a unpleasant conversation with Daniel Cheung. He was impolite since we talked. He never asked me about my needs and I was trying to tell him my basic requirements like bedding and number of guest. I kindly told him there is only photo of Deluxe room on your official website too. Furthermore, he only said whether he wanted which is the room rate and did not clearly stated the break down. Now I know what hotel Regal Hong Kong is.
Hello, I am a long stay customer. I think can improve the staff's service to keep the 5 Star hotel rating. Keep it up. Special thank you to the manager Shirley Wong, she is super nice and very helpful. I highly appreciate her hospitality. Thank you very much.
Stayed one night staycation with my friend again. Pleased to have another pleasant visit. Staff are very kind and courteous. The room cleanliness is good and the view is nice. Very convenient place to gather with my friends and the lounge environment is relax. My first choice to stay away from my home.
Although there's a long wait for the room, the staff still keep their professionalism to answer my questions and requires. Big thanks to Owen and Sherrie for organising a nice view and bathtub room for me. It has been a very good experience to spend my vacation here with my boyfriend. Look forward to visiting again when the swimming pool is opened because it was closed on August.
The location is excellent, close to shopping and transportation. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially Kelly, at the front desk and the housekeeping staff. The room is large and spacious. I'm also enjoying the well equipped gym as well.
