While guests have called out the Regal Airport Hotel for its strategic location next to the airport, making it a favorite for layovers, opinions on the hotel are mixed. The value is often criticized due to subpar customer service, outdated accommodations, and booking issues. Praise is given for the efficient service, but it's tempered by occasional reports of slow or impersonal staff interactions.
The amenities and spacious rooms are appreciated, although updates are desired, with some guests pointing out maintenance and cleanliness concerns. The consensus suggests a need for a refresh to enhance the hotel's atmosphere.

Detailed Reviews
Our flight arrangements were juggled around several times and ultimately we lost two hotel rooms that had been paid for in advance, but because of the cancelling and re-scheduling of our flights, we ended up with a night in Hong Kong due to a 23.5 hour stop over. We did not feel we wanted to return to the hotel we had stayed at in early February, so we located this hotel and were totally satisfied with the room rate, and the quality of the room. We found the cost of the breakfast was out of our price range so we walked into the terminal and found a more cost appropriate restaurant. I realize the re-scheduling by the airline was beyond their control, however the communication should have been better. Hotel location is perfect.

This hotel is just a 5 minute walk over a sky bridge after you exit Arrival Hall A.
Check in was smooth and staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a day room from 9 AM - 6 PM but when the front desk clerk heard our flight didn’t leave until 1 AM she extended our check out time to 9 PM.
Hotel was very quiet except for room location as we were right outside the elevator so you could hear it and people talking as they used the elevator. Other than that I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be using it the next time we transit through Hong Kong.

Seventh day of my fourteen days quarantine at the Regal Airport Hotel.
Check in was fast and friendly. Rooms are spacious compared to most other quarantine hotels (stayed at three), clean with all amenities and comfortable though rather dated. The room has a bathtub, which is rare amongst Hong Kong hotels. Windows are double paned to keep the noise from airplanes to a minimum. However, you can hear the next door occupant.
The Hong Kong government requires that the quarantine hotels provide full board. I suspect that the three meals are catered and not prepared by the Regal Hotel. Food is awful. Unfortunately, because of the location, Uber Eats and Deliveroo does not serve this area. Only Food Panda has restaurants available for delivery at an average price of $40HKD delivery charge per order. Bottom line is, you are stuck with what the hotel serves. The Regal provides 24 bottles of water. Should you need more, I was told that they will charge so ration your water.
At the end of the day, for your sanity, choose the Regal hotel for its spaciousness and wonderful views.

We recently spent two nights in the Regal hotel on our way to and back from Vietnam. The reception and lounge areas of the hotel are very nice and spacious but unfortunately the rooms are in desperate need of updating. There was a musty almost damp smell in both the rooms we were allocated, almost a smell of cigarette smoke although I'm sure smoking has not been allowed for many years. The bathrooms were small and the baths were dirty and stained in the bottom and they also had such shallow sides you would need to be a very tiny person to have a bath.
At the time of our stay the hotel seemed almost empty probably because of so many Chinese people not travelling due to coronavirus, I did ask at reception if it was possible to have a late checkout as we had a flight later in the day but even though it was obviously quiet she would only offer an extra hour and wanted payment after that which was disappointing.
A really convenient location as you only need to walk along a connecting walkway from the arrivals which is great but the rooms definitely need an update.

Right off of Terminal 2, the hotel was easy to find and easy to get into. Check in was a breeze (small line and apologetic staff) and check out was automatic. Strong WiFi, comfortable rooms, water and coffee and toiletries to freshen up. They provide USB charges in the room and even an adapter on request. Overall, good value and super convenient!

I paid almost $3000 to stay there for 5 hours from 3:00am to 8:00am in the morning to avoid catching cold. However the room was even colder than or at least as cold as outside due to malfunctioning air conditioner. Called room services at around 5:00am and one guy was sent, only told me the temperature in my room was the highest can be achieved, which was negatively confirmed by front desk when I checked out. No sleep for me that night because of the low temperature. I was told to email them so that they can provide me with one free night in the future as compensation. But when I got back to them, they changed the offer to room upgrading for next visit. And never reply to me after that.

The location is ideal for a quick transit stay: less than 5 minutes' walk away from the arrival hall; it is also very clearly indicated in the hall as soon as one exits customs. The check-in procedure is very quick and we were even upgraded to a deluxe room. The room itself if comfortable and calm, ideal for a short layover.

I picked Regal Airport for quarantine due to the limited options when I booked hotel and I wanted more space. I was surprised by the fact that I can walk directly to the hotel from the airport which was really good after taking a flight and taking hours for arrival registration/testing procedures. The deluxe room does provide ample space for moving around and beautiful view. The room is reasonably clean despite the toilet is dated with minor water leakage and has some smell overnight.
The food however is below expectation because the reputation of Regal’s Chinese restaurant was good. I found there were no options available and everyday is repeating more or less the same combination: meat + veg + sauce + rice. Sometimes the breakfast portion is so small whereby one mini or no bread is provided. Given there were only a few restaurant delivery options due to the remote location and not much I could change for the food, it made the staying less desirable. I would not choose it again if I have other options.

We stayed twice in transit on the way to Germany from Australia and back.
The room was very clean- great black out curtains and no noise. You can see all the plains which our son loved.
Room service was bad and too expensive
Reception- terrible service
the porters were great they help you straight away with the bags
Housekeeping was super quick when we needed extra supplies
bar- bad as well

What appealed to me about this venue is the convenience of being directly accessible after a long flight. Having researched the floor space of rooms in HK hotels I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was sufficient space to allow mobility around rooms at the RAH. Booking online was simple and efficient with prompt confirmation. However, because of difficulty with the airline and errors in the pre departure pcr testing paperwork, I had to plead with the hotel reservation team to change my dates no less than 3 times. The team (namely Polly Lai) dealt with my requests sympathetically without any sense of judgement. It was an extremely stressful time trying to synchronise all elements of qualification for entry to HK. RAH was by far the most helpful out of all the agencies (airline, travel agent, pcr company, etc) I dealt with.
The stay itself was uneventful and despite my anticipation that being confined in a room without opening windows for fresh air might take a toll on my physical/mental health the days went past very quickly. This was largely due to the fact that I had booked a family size room with 2 double beds, a long desk to work at and a coffee table and armchair next to a large window from which I could observe the world outside. There was a partial sea and coastal view and an adjacent building site of a new shiny glass building, typical HK scenery. I also had great close up views of the few permitted aircrafts approaching the runway and surprisingly there was no noise or vibration. Also the stable room temperature suggested very sufficient insulation. Even with outside temperatures being 30 deg centigrade the room never rose beyond a comfortable 23 deg mostly without need to use the a/c.
The decor is mixed with a few modern touches such as the new large flat screen TV but also some dated dark and scuffed doors, wall panelling and furniture. Fortunately the abundance of natural daylight coming through the window and the crisp white bed linen offset the darkness. There is a slight issue with general cleanliness, nothing terrible, just a few stains on wall/carpet/bathtub. The bed looked clean and inviting after the flight. The mattress was just the right firmness. There was an abundance of fresh fluffy towels, and extra linen. There was a kettle and a mini fridge. 25 bottles of mineral water was supplied. The WiFi was adequate, food was simple, not very exciting. After reading reviews I brought extra snacks. Otherwise a comfortable stay!

Yes, you can book one night hotel with 0130 am check in time. You can note your arrival time (0130 am) on your reservation or email the hotel reservation staff after you make the reservation. The staff is very responsive on email communication.
The hotel has Day Use (10 hour stay 0900 to 2100) reservation type for your future reference.
We stayed at the Regal HK Airport twice with 7 am arrival. We were lucky the first time and got a room at 9.30 am. The second time we had to wait for check outs due to a Golf competition so the hotel was fairly booked. Our room was ready around 11 am. If during your stay, there are events and hotel is booked up, an early check in may not be feasible. Please check with the front desk in advance so you can decide if you want to pay extra for early check in.
You'll have to book a room, to get gym access on most HK hotels. At least a room preferably.
You will have to check with your consulate for visa requirements. Even though the hotel is attached to the airport it is outside the customs area.
