We were impressed with Butterfly on Wellington from the moment we stepped inside the hotel. The customer service was excellent and all staff were friendly yet professional. We were delighted with our queen superior room which was stylishly furnished and very clean. We want to give a shout out to Shawn who met us at the lobby and made check-in a breeze and was extremely helpful during our entire visit. We definitely recommend Butterfly on Wellington for anyone who wants clean, comfortable accomodation in an excellent location at a very reasonable price.

Outstanding Location, Great Service & Clean Good Size Rooms maketh why we always return to Butterfly @Wellington.

Great hotel at the price point. Excellent position to all amenities and night time economy. Friendly staff. We booked executive rooms on the higher floors. We were still surrounded by taller buildings. That’s not uncommon in HK I believe unless you pay exorbitant prices for the hotels. Our rooms were cleaned and well equipped . They were furnished with a fridge, a coffee machine, a water filter/ kettle ‘thing’y, and a flat screen TV. A few fixtures and fittings look a bit tired if I want to nit pick. I booked directly on their website with cancellable policy and the hotel did not charge my card until 48 hours before arrival. I like this policy very much. Would recommend.

Warning: Constructions going on for the coming time/year. And the airco system is so old that every room has extra air dry installations. We both left with a sour throat. Impossible to sleep from 7 am. The hotel provides the cheapest non-functional ear plugs.
The hotel is smart to offer deluxe rooms for a higher price, with the worst location for construction. When u want to reallocate to a smaller room they will deny any kind of refund. So they actually profit extra.
After giving them a really hard time and writing a review they finally offered the only real solution, to upgrade to the highest floors and bigger room. That was very helpful for us.
Furthermore all 3 bathrooms i have seen were dirty. No water available. Only Chinese power plugs, vending machines in hall way sells overpriced adaptors for international travelers, but only with local bank payment accepted.
This hotel has only an eye for their own profit optimalisation and does absolutely nothing extra for their customers.
Is normal quality toilet paper too much for over 200 usd a night? It is in all the details very very cheap!

If you want to stay in Central and cannot afford places like the Four Seasons, then you are limited to "Boutique Hotels", and for my money the best of these is Butterfly on Wellington, The rooms are average sized for Hong Kong, clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. Put the "Clean my room" tag on you door and it will be cleaned in an hour. If you are staying longer, the laundry service is fast and efficient (albeit, I would prefer everything folded to being on a hanger).. The Wi-Fi is not great to be honest, but prepaid SIM cards in Hong Kong are inexpensive and readily available. I really wish that the hotel subscribed to the Premier League Football channel – especially as the games are on when it is too late for me to go out to a pub to watch. But those are minor and highly personal niggles. I travelled alone and was perfectly happy with the service, the cleanliness, and the location. Just one other thing. Hong Kong is not a city conducive to early risers, so finding a place for breakfast at a reasonable price can be a challenge.

As someone who also works in customer service, I am consistently blown away by how understanding, clever, and creative the staff at both Butterfly branches in HK can be in solving problems for their guests.
This time I want to especially thank Ami, Gene, and Annie for going out of their way to find creative solutions to my problems.
Even if a friend finds "higher rated" or "cheaper" hotels, if Butterfly is available, I always tell them to stay at Butterfly. The service, the friendly manner of the staff, and that problem solving creativity, is unparalleled anywhere in HK. (I almost don't want to write reviews, because as Butterfly gets more popular, there are less vacancies and the price goes up (as it should))

The windows in our room - which was the top floor - had big windows with a spectacular view. I would assume they all have, but just in case as already mentioned in another comment - put in a note with your booking,
It is a slightly bigger room with a bigger bed. Although the views aren’t great, the position of the hotel is very good, it’s walking distance to central station, the mall and the harbour.
