This hostel is not the cheapest you can get in Nathan Road but is good enough if you're traveling on a budget. They cleaned the room daily and replaced towels every other day. You have en-suite bathroom which is nice and not too small. The only downside is their attendants dont speak English. You can get a hold of them... More

Other than having to argue to get a room with a double bed as booked, I found it Ok to stay in. The very cramped bathroom does not allow room for getting changed or undressed so if sharing with friends could mean vacating for a while to give privacy. Cannot leave anything in the bathroom without it getting wet including... More

The small room and bath gives you an impression of how crowded HK is and how the majority of people must be living. If this isn't bothering you too much, you are getting a clean room with good WiFi connection, TV, AC and hot water (there is a switch for turning that on in the room) in a very good... More

Well, you are in Hong Kong in a budget, don´t forget it... If you are already familiar with the standards of the cheap hostels ans Inns of this city, so I believe that you will consider the Hang Ho Hostel a good option in a very expensive town like Hong Kong.. If this is not the case, then you have... More

Clean, new room although old building from the outside & the lift is old and scary. Staff do not speak english but very friendly and helpfull. Good location near mtr station, shopping complex and nite market. Value for money.

Was looking for a budget room for our stay in HK and I stumbled upon this. So after reading and comparing reviews of different budget hostels/inns, I've decided to book a double room for 2 for a 3D2N stay. Here's the pros and cons for me. I apologize if this will be quite long haha. PROS: 1) Great location. Just... More

We all know accomodations in HK are more expensive than the rest of Asia, and that they are TINY. This is just another example. Houseowners that speak little to no English, tiny rooms, on a shady-looking building, surprisingly cold (AC does not work for heating). The location is great though, cleanliness of the rooms also very adequate.

The location is great, near Jordan station and A21 airport bus stop. Very easy to find. About 20 min walk to Victoria Harbour. The room is very clean. Towels were changed every day. Friendly staff, but don't understand English. The bed was small, it woudn't be comfortable to sleep for persons with height above 185-190 cm.

Two of us stayed here for two nights. Yes, it's small (like most HK hotels) but my boyfriend is 6ft 4' and had no complaints :) the staff don't speak English but are incredibly lovely. They also have free wifi included (big bonus), hot showers, and a fantastic location!

We booked a double room with ensuite for 6 nights in HK. By HK standards it's a cheaper room than most. The room was almost entirely taken up by the bed, and we were both taller than the room was long, which made sleep tricky! Also, the toilet was located almost directly below the shower head which is convenient if... More

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighborhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighborhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamorous or busy as its neighbors Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighborhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighborhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
