Likes:

1. Location is super central. Right near the train station, also right next to Lan Kwai Fong for some nice bars and food.
2. Staff were also friendly at the front counter and when you asked for something there was no questions asked and they gave you items straight away.
3. Water refill station in the lobby that also had hot and cold water
4. For the location, it is actually the cheapest place available, so you do get what your paying for.

Dislikes:

1. Getting to Mini Central, even though its “central” to everything, it is up on a hill so walking with suitcases was a work out on the legs.
2. Rooms are basically 2 metres x 2 metres. Toilet and shower are also connected to the rook which make the room damp.
3. When the room got damp, the wooden floorboards would get damp and would squish down. When they would squish down, old water would come up through the cracks, and that old water would be dirty as we chucked a towel on the ground to soak it up and the water was brown stained on the towel.
4. Our pillow had a blood stain on it as we first arrived and we wondered if the bed sheets actually got changed.
5. The air conditioning temperature had a temperature change switch but it did not change so it was permanently stuck on the coldest temperature.
6. Be prepared that they do not clean your room if you stay below 14 days, and even then it is only changing the sheets once per week.
7. I think it is also the smallest sink I have seen in my life.

location is convenient, room size is tiny (but it's obvious), toilet blinds need to be updated as they are not in good condition anymore, room walls are thin so very easy to hear next door.

I had to move to 3 different rooms (smart room). Kevin Tsoi, one of the Managers, was very helpful and very professional and ensured my stay was as pleasant as possible.

But overall, long stay (Nov-Dec 2022) was ok and I would stay again as location is convenient and good staffs attitude.

I rented a room for myself for a few days. The location is very convenient and the room had just what I needed. They also provide soap and shampoo. The room was neat and the air-condition was functioning very well, a bit hard to regulate the temperature, because the flow of air was strong. I was very satisfied with the room and comfort.

While the hotel boasts a central location, convenient for exploring the city, my stay at Mini Hotel Central left much to be desired.

The room was disappointingly small, and the condition was subpar. Molds marred the bathroom, and the broken shower head added to the inconvenience. Despite attempts to adjust the thermostat for comfort, the room remained uncomfortably cold due to humidity control limitations. Additionally, the disposable and thin towels provided were hardly adequate for use.

The lack of a window or view further detracted from the overall experience. With only eight TV channels available, entertainment options were severely limited. Moreover, the single elevator servicing level one caused unnecessary delays and inconvenience.

The hotel's non-refundable booking policy, coupled with the absence of cancellation or modification options, adds a layer of inflexibility that may not suit all travelers.

Regrettably, the service provided did not meet expectations. Staff interactions were lacking in warmth and efficiency, failing to alleviate the numerous shortcomings of the accommodations.

Despite booking a four-night stay, my experience was so unsatisfactory that I checked out after only two days, forfeiting the remainder of my reservation.

In light of these observations, I strongly advise against staying at Mini Hotel Central. The combination of cramped and poorly maintained rooms, coupled with unsatisfactory service and restrictive booking policies, makes it a less than desirable choice for discerning travelers.

The hotel is cheap and I knew it would be small but even so I can not like the hotel. It was clean but just way too small. The bed was squeezed in between the walls and the bathroom only big enough for one person at a time.
On the bright side, if you can get over this the location is perfect for LQF, it was clean and the service was polite and efficient.
It was just too tight for me. If you are ok with tight rooms then go for it.

If you want a place to stay in the middle of Central with an affordable budget, this is probably the best option you'll get so far. So, people need to meet expectations when booking this hotel.

Our room was upgraded to include a balcony by the staff. The room is small, enough to use for sleeping. The balcony was as large as the room, so it was great to stay there with the views of Victoria Peak.

The location again, is the key value, it is within walking distance from Central/QRC/Lan Kwai Fong/Peak Tram. If there's one major thing to criticize, it is the terrain, most of the shortcuts, to the hotel are dominated by stairs or inclines. This is okay for backpackers but not for people (like us) with luggage/s. Had we known, we could've used taxis or Uber to travel to the hotel from Airport Express.

Beware: DO NOT BOOK AT THIS HOTEL

Mini Central requested a deposit of HK500 to be paid on check in date. Base on Mini Central the deposit will be 14 days after checked out.

However, I booked with booking.com for my brother Mr Diep to stay for 1 night on 22/05/2023. it is now 24/08/2023 Mini Central has not yet refund Mr Diep HK500 deposit Mini Central has not replied to any of my emails or contacts.

I am still trying very hard to get the deposit refund by contacting Mini Central and Booking.com .

This problem has wasted to much of my time and efforts, so Do not book thus hotel if you want peace.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights just this past weekend i.e. June 16-19, 2012. It is a fair bit of a walk coming from Hongkong Station and it is indeed an uphill climb. It took me 15-20 minutes to get to the hotel. I would classify this hotel as a cross between a boutique hotel and an upgraded inn or hostel. The foyer area is spacious, tastefully decorated in art deco style and relaxing with soothing music. However, the room I got is literally a hole in the wall, very cramped but tastefully decorated and clean. Good thing I was travelling alone but if I had someone with me, we would be crawling over each other. Hotel amenities need improvement. There is no restaurant inside. There are 2 vending machines just outside the hotel but only one is working. No amenities inside the room except for 1 roll of toilet paper, a mini pack of facial tissues and 2 in shampoo dispensed from a container on the wall. I had to bring my own disposable slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste and cotton buds. If your intention is just to sleep, then this hotel serves its purpose. Check-out time is at 11am. In other hotels, it is 12 noon. They also take an incidentals deposit of HKD 500 ( for what I wonder as there is no space for minibar inside the room ) but refundable upon check out. I guess if you stay at a hotel like this, you should expect only the minimum so as not to get disappointed. I guess for me the saving grace of this hotel is the foyer area however, the apple computers for public use have restricted access only to HK yahoo.

This service apartment has a big advantage of being very close to Lan Kwai Fong and also central station. I stayed there for more than 6 months when i was working in HK and was walking distance from the office. I also returned back in the same hotel for my 2 nights stay after probably 4 years. Rooms are not very big and please don't expect any fancy amenities. It is a very simple hotel with an excellent location. If you are a kind of traveller who just requires a bed at night time and for the rest of the day you are out roaming in the city then this is a kind of hotel that you should take - price wise it is quite affordable.
The only problem is that there are 52 steps that you need to climb up to reach the hotel - there is an alternate route also but again that is up hill - beware of this fact before booking

This place was small, really small, but it was quite good up until our final two days where we experienced some strange behavior from staff....

We returned to our room in the early evening after a long day out and noticed our room had not been cleaned. No big deal, we are not massive clean freaks so we didn't really stress about it, we simply walked down to the reception and asked staff for a couple of fresh towel's. In doing so, we explained that our room had not been made all day. The receptionist was apologetic, however he proceeded to call the Housekeeping department in-front of us and spoke in a very angry tone to whoever was on the other end. We certainly didn't intend to get anyone in trouble, but we received our towels and thought nothing more of it.

The next day, my girlfriend left her mobile phone lying in the middle of the bed prior to us going out and enjoying the day. The mobile phone was definitely on the bed and it was plugged into a pair of headphones when we left. When we arrived back at the room later that afternoon, we noticed that Housekeeping had made an attempt to make up the room. This time the bed was made, towels replaced, but the bathroom had not been cleaned for 2 days now and nor had the garbage bin been emptied.

It was then we noticed the pair of headphones lying on top of the made bed. The phone was not attached anymore. Nor was the phone anywhere in the room. We spent 2 hours thoroughly searching the room, with absolutely no trace of the phone. We came to the obvious conclusion that the phone had been stolen, so we reported it to reception.

Upon the first reporting, reception didn't seem understand English, despite them having spoken to us in perfectly acceptable English for the previous few days. After speaking to a manager in the end, our response was "Maybe it's in your room." Thanks Einstein, didn't think to look there.

After some more conversation, he agreed to send the Housekeeping Manager to attend the room and help us look for the phone. At that point, we had turned the room upside down, I had removed every item from every bag and inspected all our belongings individually. The phone was not in the room, that we can say 100%.

Anyway, the Housekeeping Manager attended the room a short time later and he was extremely friendly to us, almost in a creepy way. He appeared very awkward and he insisted in searching through all our bags and belongings to "help us find the phone" however we suspected that he wanted to establish if we were lying or not.

Funnily enough, while both of us had our back turned for one second, the Housekeeping Manager exclaimed that he had found the phone, he proceeded to pull the phone out of the bottom compartment of one of our backpacks.

There is no way either of us had put the phone there and there was no reason for it to be there since it had been left on the bed. Also, bot of us had searched that very same section of the backpack, finding nothing. I myself had searched the bag twice, emptying it completely and finding nothing.

It was quite clear that the Housekeeping Manager had placed the phone in the bag when we were not looking. Where he got it from, who knows, who he got it from, who knows? Why they took it only to return it, who knows? All we know is we got the phone back and decided to let it go as it was not worth the trouble.

Other than this incident, I found the staff helpful. English was good, until you need to complain, then they don't understand. There is no laundry service with the hotel, however the reception staff were very happy to point us in the direction of a good laundry shop.

The place is in an amazing location and it is affordable and perfectly comfortable if you don't mind staying in very very small rooms that consist of literally a bed and a shower.

I believe there are two sizes (twin and full) and two orientations (city view and zero view). I enjoyed the full-size bed, but being high up in the building (key!) and having natural light and beautiful views of the upper levels skyscrapers, the mountain, the clouds and the sky made being in the room much more pleasant. :)
