Many visitors are captivated by the premium amenities, including a rooftop pool and a well-equipped gym, as well as a satisfying breakfast. The service receives high marks for staff attentiveness and professionalism. The Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong is located, as the name suggests, on Hong Kong Island and overlooks the South China Sea. The modern and well-kept 5-star hotel is spread over two buildings each with 23 floors and has a beautiful infinity pool and an excellent gym on the top floor. Elegant and comfortable rooms of the right size (for two people). Excellent buffet breakfast (for a fee: about 20-22 euros) and possibility of lunch and dinner (always for a fee but, especially dinner, not convenient: too expensive). Staff always friendly and professional.
Ultimately:
Location 8.5 - Environment / Style 9.5 - Rooms 9.5 - Breakfast 10 - Value for money 9.
One last thing: you can connect to and from the airport by public taxi (duration 40.45 minutes) at a cost of about 400HKD, about 50 euros or by subway, efficient and safe.

An exceptionally comfortable, clean and efficient hotel with great views over Victoria Harbour. Hotel staff were exceptionally helpful, in fact most went above and beyond. Good location with easy access to public transport and taxis. Food and drinks in Cruise restaurant are delicious!

Quiet area by the bay, metro five minutes away. The nearest familiar restaurants (not Chinese stalls) are a 20-minute walk, but you can drive up. The room with a side view of the bay is not small, clean, the window between the bathroom and the room can be closed with a curtain, water and slippers, cleaning every day. Of the minuses - the sauna did not work, the jacuzzi is not heated, the glass fence of the pool in the evening spoils the whole view. We didn’t try breakfast, but for this money you can definitely eat in a restaurant in the city. Overall excellent value for money.

I visited the hotel during one of the busiest (and most interesting) weeks of the year--- Chinese new year. As expected, there were a lot of tourists from around the world and the hotel was almost at its capacity. However, I've found the hotel team doing exceptionally well at all the reception/dining/service tasks, and my needs were well anticipated. The housekeeping staff team was super friendly and enthusiastic; my room's specific housekeeping staff, Holly, gave me an especially deep impression as she was easy to communicate, very helpful and really took care to ensure I had a great stay. Moreover, the WoH staff at the club lounge was super nice as well, who gave me a gracious upgrade to my room.
Some good-to-knows and (very minor) issues that I found: - The hotel is at a great location, surrounded by stunning views and a diverse set of great local restaurants. - The breakfast has a great diversity of food, probably one of the best I've been to recently (except for Grand Hyatt Changsha). If you had a chance to visit, the club lounge also has good dinner + harbour view. - The hotel has two buildings: east and west. I lived in the east, which is some walking distance to the west (e.g., when I tried to go to the club lounge). Could be a slight drawback but this is fine for me.
Overall I really appreciated the chance to stay and would surely revisit when I had the chance in the future!

During my check-in at 3:30 PM, I requested a higher floor (previously in email) but was told that the highest available room was on the 7th floor, despite the hotel having over 20 floors. The trainee informed me of a surcharge for a higher room, even though, as a Discoverist member, I am entitled to an upgrade based on availability. I was shocked by this response and I checked the app and found various room types still being available.
Communication Challenges
I spoke with another staff member, providing proof from the app to help "queue" for a higher room, which was supposedly only available at 6 PM due to cleaning delays. She later mentioned that many Globalist members checked out at 4 PM, causing the delay, despite the hotel continuing to sell those rooms. As a loyal Hyatt member who has stayed in this hotel more than 15 times since its opening, I find this level of service disappointing, especially during the holiday season.
Language Concerns
Communication was also an issue, as very few staff members spoke Cantonese. I was initially greeted in Mandarin and English, making it difficult for me as a Cantonese speaker. When I raised this concern, the front desk staff's explanation of a diverse workforce felt inadequate. My previous experiences with Hyatt in Hong Kong had been much better regarding language support.
Conclusion
After providing feedback to the hotel, I received multiple calls attempting to explain the situation. However, due to a hectic schedule, I could not engage, and they eventually sent a standard response without concrete solutions. My Christmas experience at this hotel was poor, and I would not recommend it to others. The performance has been consistently dropping over time, which is disappointing for a frequent guest.

Responded Jan 6, 2025
Dear johnny0521, Thank you for staying with us recently and sharing your candid feedback. Please accept our sincere apologies for not being able to provide you with a perfect stay experience. We are grateful for your loyalty to the Hyatt brand and your longstanding support for our property. While we try our best to accommodate our guests’ preferences and requests, especially for valued World of Hyatt members like yourself, complimentary upgrades are ultimately subject to availability at the time of check-in. We apologies that we were unable to upgrade you upon arrival given the limited inventory for your preferred room type at that time, which may not always be apparent from the availability shown on the app or website. Nevertheless, we are glad that the team eventually managed to assign you to a higher floor room as requested. We also regret to hear that you experienced communication difficulties during check-in. At Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong, we are committed to embracing a diverse and inclusive environment for all guests and colleagues, and are proud to have built up an international team that is proficient in multiple languages which reflect the cosmopolitan nature of our guests and our brand. Once again, we are very sorry that we disappointed you, especially during the Christmas season. Please be assured that we have taken steps to reinforce our communications training and procedures for frontline colleagues in order to improve on this episode and avoid any future misunderstandings. We hope to have an opportunity to welcome you back to our hotel for a more comfortable stay in the future. Warm regards, Daniel Shing Assistant Manager

The service is excellent. From the moment you set foot in the hotel lobby, you feel warm and professional. Staff at the front desk were smiling, checking in was efficient and quick, and thoughtful about the hotel's facilities and surrounding Attractions.
Room service is also very attentive. The rooms are clean and tidy, the decor is warm and comfortable, and the beds are soft and skin-friendly for a good night's sleep. Every day the rooms are cleaned very meticulously, the items are neatly placed and replenished in time.
The dining side is even better. The restaurant has an elegant environment, rich and varied dishes and delicious tastes. Chefs cook by heart, and every dish feels like a work of art. The staff are friendly, quick to serve and responsive to guests' needs.
The hotel's other facilities also show quality. The gym is well equipped and the pool water quality is clear. At the same time, the hotel offers a variety of thoughtful value-added services, such as free transfer service, luggage storage, etc.
Overall, the hotel impressed me with its excellent service and made me feel the warmth of home on the go. Highly Recommended for other Travelers. Thank you Jane for your kind introduction!

We had a terrible experience here. The rooms are not set up for more than 2 guests and staff not helpful. I do not recommend this hotel. We stayed with our two kids 11 & 13 for 4 night. We booked well ahead in a deluxe room for 4 guests. On arrival to our room only 2 single beds and 1 single rollaway bed were made up and only 3 pillows and towels provided. After many hours discussing this problem with many members at reception and we were very tired after a long international flight the staff said they give us a special price to upgrade our room for an additional HKD $6600 on top of our very expensive room. The upgraded room still would not have enough beds for all guests but would have access to a sofa bed. After declining this offer we were given another rollaway single bed for just 2 nights of our stay after that we were told we had to move to a downgraded room for the remaining 2 nights to give us a sofa bed. Staff in reception are also unwilling to help with small problems like giving you towels, these request have to go through housekeeping or like us source your own as not enough were provided on checkin. The pool area is nice though only a small area for sitting and sunbaking and the pool is located in a separate tower to the rooms and restaurant bar areas. The aircon in rooms is extremely loud and makes it hard to sleep. If you are set on this hotel be prepared to purchase 2 rooms for 4 guest which is very difficult for families .

We made a reservation for 2 days and 1 night with lunch and breakfast buffet to celebrate our anniversary. Thanks to the staff Sharon’s careful arrangements, we upgraded the room first, and there were different surprises during lunch and room check-in🎁, which made my trip full of joy🎊. Thanks also to Charlie and Regina for their patience in hosting and decorating the room♥️
This is the first time we have booked this hotel, so we can experience the feeling of being welcomed. Thank you to the staff for the arrangement. We will definitely come back again👍🏻The room is also a sea view room, overlooking the Victoria Harbor, and the room is also It's very clean and well-equipped, and you don't have to wear anything to bring around👍🏻 As for the food, there are so many choices and they all taste so good. I especially like their breakfast buffet. My only regret is that I didn't go there. Their swimming pool, I will definitely try it next time👍🏻

There was no difficulty during check-in as there was a staff member who spoke Korean fluently. Above all, if we had any questions, we were able to resolve them without any difficulty in communication. The location may be inconvenient as it is far from major tourist attractions, but considering that the MTR station is nearby and there are no difficulties in responding or communicating with the staff, I am very satisfied. The welcome card left in the room had a welcome message written in Korean, which touched me a little, and I was thankful that welcome finger food was provided. The restaurant where we ate breakfast was clean, but it was unfortunate that we couldn't eat because the chef at the waffle corner was away. Perhaps because we visited early in the morning, the number of chefs at the ready-to-eat corner was limited, so you need to allow plenty of time. (Thanks Queenie!)

Michelle and Jane are particularly nice. Stayed at this hotel recently and was really a great experience! The hotel is located in a busy part of the city center, surrounded by traffic, very convenient travel. As soon as you enter the hotel lobby, you are drawn to its warm and tasteful atmosphere. Rooms are spacious and bright, furnished with both comfort and style, especially the beds are soft and comfortable for a good night's sleep. The hotel staff is friendly and smiley, whether it's front desk check-in or room service, people feel at home. Breakfast was also one of the highlights, rich in variety and delicious, satisfying my taste buds. Overall, this hotel is impeccable in terms of location, facilities, service and value for money, making it my top destination for future business trips or Trips! Highly Recommended for everyone looking for a high quality accommodation experience!

Both wings came into operation at the same time. Neither one is newer than another. I believe the dirts or dusts you mentioned in comments of some others should be standalone cases and not in reflection of the norm. As far as I know, the housekeeping team maintains a very high hygienic standard during the room make-up process.
Hi, we definitely had bottled water in our room. Not sure if that’s because we had a club room. It had shower Del, shampoo and conditioner in the shower. We also had lots of amenities left in the room such as toothbrush and small toothpaste ect. I don’t remember specifically if there was a shaver. Definitely had a hairdryer we could use.
There are more places to choose from in the Hong Kong area.
