We went there to celebrate my friend’s birthday. She brought her doggy and I brought my 3 year old. Everyday had a blast and I enjoyed from the moment from start to finish all around. The hotel is new, just refurbished in 2019, room was spacious, it looks so modern and cool. I can view central from my room which is a nice change from the Harbour view. I had 4 meals during my stay. Apart from the botanical tea set was average (looks good but taste-wise was so-so. Like my fav macaron, the mint ones tasted like toothpaste). Breakfast was exception with soooooo many choice, quality was good too. 2 in room dining was also delicious at reasonable price. Staff were super friendly!

The hotel itself is designed quite nicely, but for a 5 star hotel, the service seems to be quite off. - The hotel management obviously overbooked the hotel, without considering the use of their staff. We saw the one housekeeping staff running around, sweating, and no one was helping him. He didn't even have time to stop for my tips. - No one ever picks up the phone. I've tried to call prior to my stay, to change my reservation, and waited 20 mins, yet no one picked up. I've called in the room and still no one picked up. I had to go down to the reception to make any request. - Great room and design, but it is so humid. So, we had to request for a de-humidifier. - Great pillow choice - I would probably given it a higher score, but compared to other hotels (Rosewood) in the same price bracket, it's incomparable.

We had a really great staycation at the Murray! Nice room with wonderful entertainment equipment and enough family movie for kids!!!!!!!! Most important is the hotel staffs, they gave us a warm and caring staying. Special thank you for Mr Dean Dimitriou! Thanks for his thoughtful arrangement for our dinner!!!!!!! The location and the restaurants of the Murray is quite good, is close to the landmark and other shopping places. And also, you can walk to the the Peak cable car station. So nice! The breakfast and afternoon tea of Garden lounge are good! Specially the beef noodle of breakfast, my daughter so loves it! Strong recommendation for friends! And we will definitely come back again~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Recommend not to visit this hotel during peak season/during promotion. 1. I ordered three sets of two-courses (appetizer-two soups and salad, main-two cod fishes and beef) dinner and two main courses (fried rice and spaghetti), so there are five main courses. I also mentioned about we have five adults and one children to enjoy the meals. After an hour, at 8 something, meals are here but only with three sets of cutlery. Therefore, I called the room assistant for three more set of cutlery and three share plates. After more than half hour, the cutlery still not ready so I called again. However, the room assistant asked me which types of cutlery I needed, she said is it alright if they give me fork and knife? I said I also want a spoon for my lobster soup. After more than an hour again (we nearly finish the meals, two of us use hand to eat), the cutlery are here but without spoon. Okay! I started to consume my soup (cold already) without spoon. And when I nearly finish the soup, the spoon finally come. Thank you so much! And after my friends finished all the meals and left Murray, I want to call for table collection as I dunno how to close the table in order to make space to move out of the door. I called for more than five minutes, no one answer. I go to lobby in person to ask for help at 2245, he said he will send someone to collect immediately. At 2257, a staff comes up with cutlery which all I needed 3 hours ago LOL. ‘already!’ ‘Finished already’. The staff offered to collect the table for me. After the collection, at 2309, my mum is ready to sleep, a staff comes up and said help me to collect the table. 2. Suppose there are two sets of afternoon tea to choose, yet, the staffs are so honest and said as there are too many guests today, the kitchen decided to offer only one choice. I said, what if I don’t like/food allergy. She answered, you may ask for alternative but we don’t guaranteed. What??? Are you serious???? If I have food allergies, you don’t guarantee any alternative? But the afternoon tea set is included in the staycation package. 3. The milk holder and plate are so dirty. I think the milk holder, maybe didn’t wash. Because the lipstick are easily being erased by my fingers. 4. I asked for two chairs for my guests to have in-room dining with me, they gave me two wine glasses LOL. 5. I asked for box tissue as I used up, they gave me toilet roll LOL. I have expressed my feelings to their room assistant yet they told me that because they have too many promotions published so they have too many guests. And feel really sorry and understand my feelings. Hey, come on, if you do not have enough manpower, please do not lower your standard and quality to accept too many bookings. To be fair, my last visit in August was super nice and I was so looking forward to this time. But this time is so much disappointing.

Murray is definitely one of the best 5 stars hotels in Hong Kong, but an unpleasant experience starting from entering the room. Unfortunately, I found that my request in the email got neglected. A simple set-up and a small cake would be provided was mentioned in the email. They had even missed these items. I requested again and called the front desk, I just wanted the cake only for that moment and forgot about the set-up or decorations, but one of the staff called back me and said the set-up was the balloon given to me in the front desk. This excuse is absolutely unacceptable and made me upset. This unpleasantness On the next day, the breakfast experience at The Tai Pan was extremely disappointed, not only the quality of the food, but also the buffet area. The breakfast was a semi-buffet, you could order or serve yourselves to grab several dishes. Firstly, I wanted to order dimsum which was in the menu but the staff said you cant because it was in the buffet area. The funniest thing was that only the dimsum name plate was existed but the dimsum seems never be refilled in the buffet area. As for the ordering food, there was a 30-minute wait for a stale and cold egg benedict. I would say this was really an awful experience for a 5 stars hotel. The core value of hotel is INTEGRITY and SERVICE. The staff did not live up to their promises and blame the victims even a 3 Stars hotel would not treat the guest like this.
