I’m back again for my second quarantine stay! I chose Dorsett Mongkok mainly because of the extraordinary level of service I experience with Gus! He is so professional, caring and highly responsible! I’ve recommended Gus/Dorsett to many friends and they are all super happy with him!! This time I’m only staying here for 7 nights…I feel I don’t mind a longer stay just to enjoy the 6-star service from Gus lol
Recently stayed here to do the 7 nights quarantine. In terms of experience I would give this a 5- staff were always friendly via whats app and bought up extra bottles of water and towels etc. The food was okay- some meals were delicious, some weren't but you can order food panda etc and the staff bring it right to your room. The rooms are small but for the price understandable.
Firstly, the staff have been lovely and helpful. The room is clean and plenty of water and a selection of fizzy drinks are available in the fridge as a compliment from the hotel. I’ve ordered a lot from Food Panda and this always gets delivered to my room quickly. Internet connection is ok. However, the room is small - I paid for a superior room and had to ask if they had my booking correct when I arrived because the room is very small with no room to exercise. There has also been hammering and drilling each day which is quite annoying when you’re in a room and can’t leave it! The food is not good. I ordered the vegetarian selection and when I arrived, I was given chicken and rice. Each meal is rice after rice after rice with a side of cabbage. Breakfast is by far the worst (I have attached a photo) and consists of a piece of bread, an egg and beans with lettuce in. Today I got 1 piece of toast with peanut butter. The portion size is also tiny. How can the food be so bad for a $9,100 a week price tag? I have previously stayed in other quarantine hotels and I’m sorry to say that the Dorsett just does not compare. I also have friends staying in other quarantine hotels who have paid the same and their food choices are great. This is something that should be standard. However, q hotels are obviously cutting corners with food to save money at the expense of their paying customers. I would not recommend this hotel nor will I be staying here again. You can get way more space and quality food for the same price in other hotels.…
Room is small but clean and adequate. Thoughtful quarantine arrangements. Reasonable meals with good varieties. Good shower. Comfortable bed. No prepayment before 30 days of arrival which is a bonus. Friendly and thoughtful staff. Plentiful supply of bottled water and amenities. Towels has stain though. Would recommend.
Mongkok Dorsett is a perfect option for quarantine and for a city stay when there is no quarantine! not too much space with 2 people and a lot of luggage but adequate if you not planning on running around the room. good shower bathroom, clean and nicely fitted and decorated. Good quality, comfortable, bedding and linen. We ate regular delivered food for a few days that was balanced and simple(1 vegetarian and 1 regular) then ordered from food Panda for a few days. lots of options and variety available. Impressed with the recycling commitment of the hotel.Green bags are offered to store the washed, plastic food containers and detergent and sponge to wash them. Brita water filter jugs are also available. good idea! The staff are very friendly and helpful and overall our stay was very pleasant. Thank you Mongkok Dorsett.…
Thank you HK government to allow us to quarantine. It was amazing that a one bed room can claim as a family room and can charge the price crazily. So you can imagine how spacious for a four people to stay…. Also, washroom was smelly, and the air condition had a laundry sound. So you slept with the sound the whole night. What a wonderful experience. Plus, you can not adjust the air condition temperature. You either freeze or hot. Again, thank you government and the hotel.
Booked this hotel months in advance as a Quarantine hotel for my mum as I heard great reviews. It was on a ‘special price of over HK$7K) however after talking to my mum, she said the food was terrible and didn’t have any snacks in the hotel when she arrived! Only bottled water and tea. My mum is over 75 years old so she didn’t take any photos but I am so disappointed as there has been great reviews
By all accounts arranging a quarantine booking with Hong Kong hotels can be an immensely frustrating and expensive experience. Fortunately I chose Dorsett Mongkok (on the back of reviews from the HK Quarantine Support Facebook group and YouTube videos) because they made the whole process painless. They always responded quickly and were flexible whenever it looked like my (or HK gov's) plans might changed. The reassurance this gave me was invaluable and helped me to relax and enjoy my first trip outside HK in 3 years. On to the stay itself. My "Room Comfort" was predictably small (to be expected in HK), clean and quiet with a nice city view. There were several nice touches including soft drinks waiting for me in the mini-fridge, being allowed to open my window, rapid room delivery of anything ordered from outside and a personal WhatsApp from the Manager, Eddy. I tested positive on Day 3 of my stay and moved to a government CIF on Day 5 (must have caught it at the airport or on the plane). Throughout this ordeal, the Dorsett Mongkok were very helpful and responsive, Eddy in particular. Thank you, guys. Overall, I recommend Dorsett Mongkok for a welcoming, comfortable and affordable quarantine stay.…
Overall customer service good with fast response upon my request for amenities + drinks refill. Nice & clean small room with sufficient supply on basic needs (ie towels, detergents, soft drinks, bottled water, etc) Special thanks to Gus with warm hospitality & sincere explanation on my comments to hotel. Helping me to redeem credits for use at D-mart & food panda. Nice treat with white wine & fresh fruits. Basically food not bad except once or twice with some black dots - burnt on sandwiches from my observation. Worn out towels Room very small with very limited area to move after putting my 2 check -in baggages + 1 hand-carry baggage. Room temp a bit cold & cannot adjust. Mid-night check-out arrangement can be improved as front desk made a mistake that they thought I suppose to leave hotel in next day but actually I called to book for the night I called. Besides, suggest hotel to change policy as my flight arrived at 0525am & hotel charged me one extra night because hotel cut off with flight arrival at 6am. This is not fair to clients. Suggest to change check-on cut off to 9am or 12noon more reasonable.…
Stayed in Dorsett MK for 7 days quarantine in Jul 2022 Good attitude towards the service (Relatively) affordable price compared to other quarantine hotels clean and tidy nice meals, the food is still warm when arrived and the taste is acceptable
