I stayed for 6 days in West hotel in November 2016. The hotel is good!! Rooms are good size, especially for Hong Kong!! Every day we got 2 bottles of water. You have a small refrigerator which is very handy. Free wifi in the room. The subway is very near, but Subway Jordan is more handy. It is a 10min...

The best thing about this hotel is its location. There are 2 MTR stations nearby, the nearest is Austin (purple/West Rail line, 5min walk) and the farther one is Jordan (red/Tsuen Wan line, 10min walk). The famous Temple Street / Night Market is just 2 streets away (5min walk) making it a very convenient stopover to grab some food and...

The location was OK in the heart of Kowloon but the bed was the hardest thing I have ever tried to sleep on. The floor would have been softer if the carpet had been cleaner. The elevator worked and the wifi was good so there were some good points.

The beds are hard. Really hard. Imagine sleeping on a plank of wood with a very thin piece of foam over it (I did actually sleep well though). However, the location is fantastic. The rooms are clean, everything functioned and the wifi worked. Good budget hotel.

West hotel is in a great location, a short walk away from Victoria Harbour and with lots of reasonably priced restaurants nearby. Beds were extremely hard but other than that i could not fault the room - clean and a very good size for Hong Kong!

Had to stay here as part of the 'China on a shoestring' tour and it's the most uncomfortable hotel I've even been to. The bed is so hard it's like sleeping on concrete, it might actually be more comfortable to sleep on the floor. Tried to ask the reception for extra bedding but they dismissed me saying they don't have...

Stayed here at the end of a G Adventures tour and was so shocked by the hard beds! There was a rollout futon style extra bed in the room so sleep on that instead! Good location, the main street, Nathan Road is a 5 min walk away and it's very close to the night market.

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighborhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighborhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamorous or busy as its neighbors Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighborhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighborhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
