Wai Ching Street, Jordan is within 20 mins walking of Austin, Kowloon(Airport Express) & Jordan MTR stn, many interesting places and shopping in Kowloon e.g Temple Street, Nathan Rd, iSquare, The Elements, etc. If travelling in groups on Airport Express, buy the grp tickets (discounted) instead of the HK$90 single fare. Need to buy MTR ticket before you can enter... More

Very nice hotel staff very nice and helpful. The hotel is located at few steps from the subway, 2 minutes from the night market, plenty of restaurants there. Very clean The beds are a little bit hard but perfect for the back ! The WiFi was not working in the room but worked in the lobby

I did read the reviews but i didn't expect the beds are really that hard literally! And with all those reviews it seems that management is not doing anything about it. You will also hear the noise from the other room. I chose the place because of the location and it suites my budget and since i booked a family... More

Hess at the front desk, so friendly, and helpful as to the two lovely girls in the morning too. YES, the beds are hard! BUT I NEVER FELT BETTER. It's actually therapeutic. Up the block you have the MTR&bus! Great location. Hotel in itself was for families or couples or singles for sleep and shower! PERFECT. What more can you... More

I did a lot of research into a good budget hotel in Hong Kong. First time visiting with kids and I knew it was an expensive city. We took a taxi to the hotel. Hotel rooms are very large and even give slippers! The bed is hard but once you fall asleep you don't feel it and it's suppose to... More

The West is a budget hotel in a pretty good downtown location. 22 floors - head to the top for light and windows and if you DON'T like smoking rooms, ask for a room on Floor 19. We moved as were originally on floor 6 in a smoky, dingy room... The rooms are not large, but have all you need... More

My girlfriend and I stayed one night at this hotel prior to our flight to New Zealand. Reception staff was professional and friendly. Our room pretty much had all the amenities that we needed. The only issue for us was that the bed was rock hard. We tried putting down two blankets, but it was still a tough night!

The rooms are small and the beds are harder than mainland china! The rooms are reasonably clean however and the location very close to the subway cuts down the walking time to the harbour and other sites. Staff spoke reasonable english but didnt know about the cheap public shuttle bus to the airport just around the corner!

A good location really close to the night market and walkable to the ferry ports. The rooms are quite small, especially the bathroom but is good enough for what you need. Very clean and well maintained. Word of warning that the beds are rock hard. Wifi is probably the strongest point as it has fantastic speed regardless of where you... More

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighborhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighborhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamorous or busy as its neighbors Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighborhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighborhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
