Stayed at Hotel Kapok during my 3-day trip to Beijing. The room was pretty clean. The front desk staff especially Moses and Winters were extremely helpful, attentive, and responsive! The value I got for a reasonably priced room rates is superb...will be back again! Thanks
Slept here with a family of 3 for 3 nights in November 2019. The hotel is clean and spacious, large bathroom and free drinks in the minibar. Breakfast was good as well. All major attractions are within walking distance which is a big pro. We booked through Agoda and their website stated check in at 2 pm and bike rental at the hotel. Check in was at 3 and they don't have rental bikes. All in all a place I would stay again.
Hotel was located near east gate of forbidden city (donghua meng). However, to visit forbidden city, one can only enter via the south gate. Wangfujin street and tian'anmeng east mrt was within walking distance. There were also several eateries within hotel vicinity. Room was nice and clean. Check in was smooth. Staff would provide a map of nearby attraction and teach you how to go when check up. All staffs were basically very friendly and helpful.
Stayed for 7 nights at level 3, clean and spacious room, clean bed , complimentary 4 cans beer, 2 cans of soft drinks + 3 bottles of 1 ltr mineral water daily, toiletries , towels and hairdryer provided. Front desk was very helpful , alert and efficient. Very good location, 10 ~15mins walk to Forbidden city , 10 mins walk to Wang fu jing shopping street , 15 mins walk to train. Our bf wasnt included, had our bf at opposite eateries instead for nice local food. Highly recommended this hotel.
We stayed here for 4 nights in September. We took a taxi from the airport and paid about 400 yuan. Check in was smooth. The room we got was on 3rd floor. The room was clean and smell fresh. Basic coffee and tea facility. Soft drinks in fridge was free for consumption during our stay. The bedlinen was clean too. The toilet is a decent size but seems slippery. They do provide bath slippers which I didn’t use during my stay. The hotel could improve by fixing a shower curtain as the shower water tends to splash to the other part of the toilet. They do provide toiletries, hair dryer and towels. The housekeeping does a decent job in making up the room everyday. The front office staffs were helpful. There are a few of them who could speak English so that was helpful, especially a staff named ‘Winters’. There is a convenient store just next to the hotel. The are a lot of eateries opposite the hotel which is convenient. We didn’t try out the hotel breakfast so no comment on that. …
Unfortunately we were here during the military rehearsals for the 70th anniversary celebration. This meant that, whilst this was a pleasant hotel in a good location, we didn’t enjoy being confined to it after 6pm on a Saturday night to watch the tanks roll past the hotel window. We were also unable to go to the Great Wall as we would not have arrived back before the curfew.
Beijing on the biz it was. According to the map it seems the main city center attractions are in walking distance during my very limited free time. So it was and also one of these western fast food chains was in walking distance, no need to negotiate with the taxi drivers. Arrived at PEK airport in the early morning, it´s absolutely necessary to have you´re hotel details written in Chinese letters to show it to the taxi drivers. They do not talk in English and can´t read western style. Expect roundabout 100.00 Yuan and do not accept any driver without a meter running. Early at the hotel and early Check-In was ok, a real plus here. Step out of the hotel to the left there are just a good couple of meters to go for Tiananmen and the historic area around, to the right is more non-touristic and also a good number of restaurants. Room was spacious, also the bathroom, glass only between room and bathroom and it was clean for the first view, but not really everywhere when you go en detail. Everything from the fridge was free with my rate, one more plus here. Slept well, some noise from other hotel guests was to notice, but nothing really bad. No hotel breakfast according to my schedule for the next day, really nice staff during Check-Out also, later on back at Capital airport, taxameter cab only, roundabout the same fare. All in a recommendable place to stay with my intentions.…
The hotel is in a good location with great restaurants on same street and nearby. We had breakfast included in price, the breakfast was a good blend of western and Asian food. There is a smoking room right in main lobby which is heavily used by the smokers. The rooms are supposed to be smoke free but from elevator and hallway you could notice smoke smell. The rooms are a bit crowded and our view was over a court yard with rooms under neath where people sat out and smoked. Not possible to open windows. The bathroom was large enough but tended to not be as clean as it could be. Shower area had mold on tiles grout. They do leave shower slippers since shower floors r slippery but they r old and have been used by many. Don’t recommend using them. Hotel is close to most walking areas and shopping Approx 1 hour from airport depending on traffic…
We ended our China trip at this hotel and it was excellent. Room was clean and spacious. It also had a courtyard attached to it (ants included). Hotel staff very friendly. Was an easy walk to sights from the hotel. Breakfast buffet was included in the room and was of excellent quality.
We had a a design suite for 2 adults and 2 children. The room was large with plenty of seating. The main bed was comfortable but the sofa bed was not. Lucky the children were small enough to lie across and avoid the hard wooden bar. The bathroom was very big with a huge feature bath, separate shower and plenty of toiletries. Everything was very clean and we didn't see any mosquitoes. The best thing about the hotel is being a few minutes walk from the Forbidden City. There are restaurants and shops across the road where you can get what you need. The Wangfujing shopping area is also very close. However, the Metro is quite a walk and not practical with luggage. The breakfast buffet is good with a choice of Asian and Western dishes, fruit, breads etc. The Chinese pancakes, cooked on demand by the egg chef, are delicious. The laundry service was good but pricey. Overall, good hotel for sightseeing in Beijing.…
