First, the hostel & staff are so welcoming! Always finding ways to help you make the most of your visit to Beijing, whether with tickets to the Forbidden City or an easy bike rental or a hutong tour! I had a private room, 105, which allowed me a bit of relaxation at the end of many long days pushing my...

We did the fun tour to the wall it was brilliant. Our tour guide ,May, was very friendly and knowledgeable about Chinese history. The hostel is clean and the staff are very friendly. I would definitely recommend this hostel especially for its value for money.

The transportation to and from the wall was simple and, as advertised, no extra stops. The tour guide May was very helpful and spoke very good English and told us a little bit of Chinese history on the ride. Definitely recommend using them for tours - reasonably priced!

Some friends of mine are coming to China soon, and this is what I will tell them: do this tour, forget about going to other places in the Wall that are crowded. We booked the tour with Downtown Backpakers and it has been amazing! Totally worth it! They take you here in a bus, explain the history (in our case...

We stay at this hostel for only one night, during a long layover iun Beijing. The hostel was very very quiet! We slept really well! The rooms are really simple, but efficient! It is located in the middle of the old Beijing (downtown) on a calm and charming street (only few cars on this street) The only downside, the cleanliness...

Has free breakfast, wifi, and lockers.Hostel staff are the best! They can...

Beijing Downtown Backpacker Hostel is a centralized hostel with a fantastic staff and great accommodations in the middle of a very busy hutong. It's very hectic the minute you step out the front door, but is a great location to explore the city. There's lots of great street food around, as well as many sights, the subway and a nice...

We signed up for the 10K Wild Great Wall hike from Jiankou to Mutianyu. This tour, while not for the timid (6 miles of fun!) was exactly how I wanted to experience the Great Wall. This is an experience that I would not trade. Jackie was a fantastic guide. Very helpful. Very patient for when we needed a quick break....
