My partner and I were staying in Beijing for one night as part of our Trans-Siberian train adventure from HK to St Petersburg. Having had some difficult experiences in Beijing in the past, we decided to treat ourselves to a nice hotel in the capital. We were expecting a nice hotel and a pleasant nights stay. We got so much... More

Location great for forbidden city, shopping, metro. We upgraded to club level which included breakfast, all day drinks and snacks, evening cocktails and nibbles so well worth it. Rooms are a very good size, more of a suite then room, good bathrooms and showers. Can be a little noisy from corridor but shut bathroom and sitting room doors. No coffee... More

Location: next to Tien Amen square (5-6 minutes walk) Rooms: very large and very comfortable with very pleasant king size beds and a large well equipped bathroom. The decoration is classic, but pleasant. Wifi: free and quick. Breakfast: good quality products, in a pleasant room. Staff: smiling and efficient. All in all, a very good 5 stars. An excellent choice... More

We love Raffles Hotel. The best, we found, is in Phnom Penh. Similarly, this one is quite good. Rooms are comfortable & clean. Staffs are courteous. Although, not all are proficient in English. Then again, we should, perhaps, lower our expectations just a bit. After all... it is in China☺️. Overall we love the Hotel.

The hotel is steeped in colonial history originally on the site of the Beijing Oriental Hotel and Raffles have done a tremendous job retaining the colonial atmosphere, if not improving it. The service is, frankly, impeccable. In fact, we were over serviced! Rooms are large, beds comfortable, food tasty. Afternoon Tea in the lounge is a must, as is the... More

My wife and I stayed here for four days to tour Beijing. The hotel was excellent. We had a wonderful stay starting with being met at the plane by the car service (highly recommended by the way -- no hassles to get to the hotel and worth the $50 over and above the cost of the taxi). The staff went... More

My family and I spent 3 nights in this wonderful hotel. We upgraded to a suite in the heritage front building - it was a fabulous room decorated with various objects d'art and dedicated to the Chinese poet and writer Guo Moruo. The upgrade was facilitated by Geraldine, who perceptively noted that we were all tired after the flight from... More

China's large cities see new buildings go up every day, and most of its high end hotels are located in those new buildings, so it was nice to see that the Raffles was constructed in 1917, though back then it was the Beijing Hotel which is now next door. The room was spacious with high ceilings, nice decor and a... More

Significant issues re checking in.. Room not ready after 7 hours!!! Understand at12 md room not available but at 7 pm!!!!!!! Passports and credit card taken 3 times... Hosted by Australian hotel ambassador to 'compensate' and provided wine and a meal.. Although as members would be eligible for this anyway!! Room tired, peeling wallpaper, bathroom could have been cleaner. Disappointing.
