I can strongly recommend Holiday Inn Temple of Heaven to visitors to Beijing. The hotel families are maintained well, every staff member I encountered was friendly and helpful. Finally, for the level of amenities and service, the price makes it a great value. The location (probably affects the price), is a little unusual. It is situated in an ordinary, not touristy, neighborhood. But, it is walkable to the South Gate of the Temple of Heaven, and of course, there are plenty of buses and taxis scooting around.
Hotel is located close to the temple of heaven and forbidden city. They offer a free shuttle to the tourist area and subway station. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast spread was fantastic and covered both Chinese and Western selection. There is an ATM at the lobby and the staff can assist with tour planning.
I was on a business trip and stayed here for the duration of it. Upon arrival we were tired as it was 1 AM, the staff efficiently checked us in and wished us a good night. The rooms were all we needed with nothing more. We had clean and crisp beds. We had the choice of a firm or soft pillow. We had a good bathroom which included a laundry line. There is a desk, TV, armchair, AC and two cupboards to put your belongings in. The buffet breakfast was all we needed for a good start to our day. Freshly made noodles, pastries, fresh fruit, cereal, juice, pancakes and chicken nuggets were some of the favourites among the group. Usually, we had dinner out but one night we stayed at the hotel to have dinner. The dinner was average as we found it didn’t seem as fresh as the breakfast. The food seemed dry. The pool meanwhile was pretty average. It was a good temperature but on one side there are kids swimming lessons going on. I would also stay careful because some of my colleagues told me they thought there might have been pee in the water. Upon check out, the staff seemed a bit dazed and half asleep. When we returned out key cards they started scowling at us. Overall this hotel was an ok place to stay. …
I visited Beijing to see the Great Wall and stayed at this Holiday Inn. And it did not disappoint. Especially if you are an IHG (International Hotel Group) Club Member. Because Beijing is so large, no matter where you stay in the city, you will have a long drive to any tourist attraction. This hotel is a good choice since the English proficiency is good, the rooms comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good with a large selection for every taste. The lounge area has a bar serving drinks in a relaxed atmosphere with very helpful staff. I had a very happy stay here.
Stayed in this holidayinn hotel for 3 nights... hotel room looked old. Room still consider clean. Not much shops around kind of boring. Not suitable for family travellers. The Banquet dinner service is super slow. The waiters not attentive and no water is served. Request for tea,.. waiter service tea without tea cup...😑 given a chance, i will not return this hotel..
