We arrived at hotel past midnight, and the kind receptionist (a guy) waited for us although past his working hours. He was so kind and helped us with our luggages. As for the room, we stay at the back (white door). Upon entering the room, we saw quite a number of water marks on the walls and it wasn’t really pleasant. This same goes to the bathroom. Pillow was thin, appreciate if the hotel able to provide more pillows too. However, it was a pleasant stay due to the strategic location which is near the Forbidden City and subways.

We stayed here with my family for 10 days. Breakfast offered is either Western-style or Beijing-style (steamed dumplings with fried pancake and steamed buns) which I always choose the latter. Reception staff is very friendly and speaks English. One of the staff (Jeremy) was kind enough to let us use his AliPay (which we then reimbursed him after) since the Didi service doesn't accept cash and he also offered us to stay in their sister hotel when the water heater didn't work for a day. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Hulu Courtyard.

I stayed at the hutong hotel for 3 nights in September. The staff are very friendly and will help to book tours, recommend things to do and help make restaurant reservations. All the staff speak good English. The hotel is located around 10 minutes walk from two subway stations however, the hutong itself is not touristy at all. The room has a rustic feel and was generally clean however, the bathroom did have a lot of ants in.

Room was clean and decent. The staff were friendly and helpful. They were able to converse in english. Had ask for directions to a nearby Peking duck restaurant, it was so good. Their breakfast dumplings and oriental pancake were delicious! Had a wonderful time during the stay. Keep up the good work! And thank you Mr Cheng and the lady at the front reception!

Nothing beats an experience staying at a hutong at Beijing. The staff were friendly and helpful, one of them even recommended where to eat good Beijing Roast Duck. We got a free upgrade to a larger room as they were not full for 2 days. During our final night with them, they smoothly shifted us to a smaller room that we booked but no less cozy. We had an enjoyable stay, thank you so much.
