The room was quite big and the amenities were good. We had hot water all the time, the heater and hot pot took off the chill of the frigid Beijing winter. Its very convenient to the subway and a short walk to 2 malls. I liked that there were about 4 restaurants just below the hotel to choose from and you got free breakfast every day (just simple). There were good restaurants across the street as well. The guests didn't speak English at all but with the help of some friends we managed.
The rooms are clean. The towels are somewhat dingy. What is great about this place is the location. It is close the Tiantongyuan Nan subway. We get breakfast vouchers for Tienlaoshi restaurant which is just great. I love those Chinese style breakfast. If you don't like tofu-nao, you can order the baozi and wanton soup. Also, next door are a great dumplings restaurant and hongsao beef noodle restaurant. Walking distance are a great Beijing duck restaurant and Hubei restaurant.
Friends recommended this hotel as it was just a five minute walk from the Tian Tong Yuan South Subway Line 5. Also it is a 15 minute walk to a very big mall called "Hwa Lian Shang Chang'. We found the rooms small, but, very quiet. A three floor budget hotel, with 'Chinese style' breakfast, served in another part of the building. For us, location was a plus. Room service was good as out towels were changed everyday. This area of Beijing is void of all the tourtist traps, very local and we enjoyed being in a differant surburb of the city.
