Our kids spend the whole time in the spacious pool. The buffets work well for families and/or there are nearby restaurants in the shopping mall that can be reached without going outside. Cable TV and comfortable rooms are helpful
The room is so much smaller than other hotels in Beijing. Poor soundproofing, conversations from next door could easily be heard. Only 4 bottles of complimentary drinking water is offered, extra bottled water requested will be charged. The staff who checked us in was not friendly and the overall experience was not what you’d expect from other Grand Hyatt hotels.
This hotel's frontdesk staff somehow always show cold faces when I check out. I've stayed at this hotel quite several times. Your frontdesk is your face - please always bear that in mind, Hyatt. No goodbye, no warm farewell. Feels they are very busy and tired of their work. The location of this hotel is great - I accept this hotel is a little bit outdated in terms of hardware and decoration but service really got to be improved
We booked here, along with the rest of Beijing, when the pool reopened after COVID closure. The room was lovely and spacious. But all we did while we were there was swim in the amazing pool. It's one of the most unique ones I've ever seen and probably the best indoor hotel pool in the world! We'd stay here again and recommend it to our friends too.
I have been staying at Grand Hyatt Beijing for over 12 years. It has been a special place for me, but the hotel badly needs an upgrade and management needs to up its game especially in the food and beverage area. The Grand Cafe has been relegated to a restaurant with low quality buffet service and limited menu offerings. It pales in comparison to other international hotel chain’s restaurant offerings. More alarmingly, the bathroom facility is filled with cigarette smoke. I don’t understand why the hotel cannot enforce no-smoking policy when others seem to be able to do so. It is really disgusting with no ventilation. Grand Club is in a sorry state with its food offerings, but I believe this is a systemwide issue at Grand Hyatt Beijing (other than Made In China restaurant, which had also seen its quality lowered in recent years). The Spa and Gym has shown its age. The equipments have not changed for the 12+ years I have stayed. The pool is now open for public use. On weekend, it is packed with local kids with their parents, and it is impossible to swim there. Again, smoking in the bathroom facility is a major problem in the gym and pool area. The rooms badly need an upgrade. Analog TV signals with fizzy images instead of newer equipment. Bathroom amenity has also been reduced to lower than Hyatt Place offerings. I have stayed at over a dozen Grand Hyatts in China, the amenity offerings are probably the worst I have seen. Let’s not mention the state of the furnitures in the room. I am a loyal Hyatt customer. One of things I like about Hyatt is its consistency and quality throughout of its Grand Hyatt hotels around the world. I am afraid the Beijing Grand Hyatt is probably the lowest quality Grand Hyatt I have stayed. It needs to be modernized and up its food and restaurant facilities and control its smoke-filled bathroom facilities in the common areas. It should be getting a one star but for loyalty sake, I am giving it a 2 stars. Hyatt should be embarrassed about this property.…
