As I was walking down this famous street of upscale hotels, shops and restaurants, I spotted the "Peninsula". Knowing this hotel from Hong Kong, I went in and asked if they served afternoon tea. The answer was yes, for two. I was alone. The chef gave permission for me to enjoy the tea and I booked it. What an exclusive... More

Not too shabby but still, the rooms are a little worn out/old and sinister. Comfortable but they really need a serious revamp (I visited in June 2014). Bar on the roof is nice as well as the swimming pool. Little lack of atmosphere in general. Staff is not bad but not outstanding either. Food is average, be it in the... More

Kind of like living in a luxury mall, (Tiffany, Armani, Chanel, yadayada), not quite my cup of tea and an unwelcome surprise, but some folks love this sort of thing I guess. However, staff is excellent, room very nice. Currently, a bit noisy and sometimes smelly solvents from remodeling, and the bar is shut down for a couple months. Big... More

I was trying to write a review for the Jing restaurant within the Peninsula Hotel but Trip Advisor does not seem to be set up to allow me to do that. Just had fabulous meal experience at Jing. The incredibly beautiful setting of the hotel gets you in the mood and when you enter the bar (before the restaurant) this... More

This was my first time staying at this hotel and the Peninsula chain. Simply one of the best hotels I've stayed at! The staff were incredibly helpful and tended to any concerns or inquiries we had. The food was the best food I've had at a hotel, it was incredible! China was going through a bad storm during the time... More

the hotel is great - well located, with great service and wonderful breakfasts and dinners - delicious food, even if served in a buffet-style - lobsters, crayfish, etc. also we had one group member birthday - she received amazing cake and champagne to the room, which we shared in the evening, congratulating her.

Always on the pursuit of finding new dining spots in Beijing, I was very much looking forward to try the Peninsula’s newly revamped restaurant Jing. Went there with a colleague, and we started off with cocktails. Cheeky selection of reinterpreted Gin & Tonics. Well crafted too. Off to a great start, we proceeded towards the dining room. Our waitress introduced... More

When I lived in Shanghai, I often traveled to Beijing. I'd kept trying a new hotel at a time, and stayed at Raffles, Intercontinental etc, until I finally had a exceptional experience at Peninsula in 2013. After that I never changed the place for my sojourn in the capital, because, to be sure, Peninsula never failed me. The location, the... More

Our family of 3 spent 7 nights here in June 2014. We had a wonderful experience here! Hotel is very friendly to Westerners. Restaurants are all extrodinary. Breakfast buffet is a must do. Room service was exceptional. We had a one bedroom suite with a pull out sofa, one and 1/2 baths and a dining and office area. Very roomy... More

Great location and nice hotel with reasonable price, compare to Waldorf, Rosewood and Upper House. Of course the room is old, telephone in room is old, fax machine in the drawer is old. If you want to stay in a well-known hotel with good reputation and paying less, this is a great hotel for you to stay in Beijing. By... More
