It has taken me way too long to write this review which has unfortunately deprived others from reading about the absolutely stellar experience that my wife and I enjoyed whilst staying at the Peninsula Beijing. Being in the midst of COVID-19, my wife and I had opted for a hotel experience rather than venturing out to visit another Chinese city as had been our tradition in the past: and boy did we choose well. Prior to the trip, I had emailed the hotel to inform them that it would be our anniversary celebration during our stay, and from there Karen and her team simply took over: from the personal welcome at the door, the decorations and celebratory video in the room and personalised service, to the daily surprises like cakes and sweets (and towel arrangements in the form of a pair of beautiful swans!) it felt like a celebration throughout our entire stay. The rooms themselves were gorgeous and wlell spaced, the beds comfortable and the room service was simply top class. The hotel itself is situated within walking distance of the Wangfujing shopping district, laden with amazing restaurants and nightlife, but also sufficiently isolated to ensure undisturbed sleep every night. The concierge provided useful guidance to make our daily travels smooth and enjoyable, allowing a worry-free exploration of this wonderful city. Each and every need was catered for to the smallest detail. Even comparing to my stays at other Peninsulas across the world, this was something very special. My wife, not being Chinese, was simply astounded by it all - and it all starts from the personalised service provided by its wonderful staff (who were fluent in both my local Cantonese as well as English!) In the end, this turned out to be such an unforgettable experience: I cannot speak more highly of our stay here, and strongly recommend this hotel (and Karen's Team!) to anyone looking to enjoy Beijing in the most convenient, luxurious, and carefree way possible.

I haven't been back to the Peninsula Beijing since the start of the pandemic, And I'm so glad to say that all is as wonderful as I remembered it.The guest rooms are very comfortable and well maintained but not over the top, which I like. What makes the Peninsula Beijing stand out head and shoulders above most hotels I've stayed in China is the service. I changed rooms a couple of times when I first checked in and the staff Rita were incredibly accommodating and understanding. She was helpful and warm, and really interested in helping you find a solution. In the lobby, she saw me standing around for a table, and that I had been waiting for a while. Even though it was probably not technically his responsibility, she stopped work and came over to help me to find a seat for breakfast.I am quite appreciative when hotels empower and encourage staff to take initiative to help guests wherever possible, so thank you to the staff Rita for continuing to provide the highest level of service to your guests.

We had a staycation weekend at the peninsula and I must admit that it exceeded our expectations! The room was newly renovated and in mint condition. The service was second to none, attention to detail and made us feel so welcome from the moment we stepped in. The hotel is greatly situated and location is excellent. We had dinner at the Chinese restaurant, afternoon tea at the lobby and drinks at the sky bar. All was wonderful. Highly recommended. Shout out to Kurt and his team for going above and beyond all the time.
