Bejing Fulu Quadrangle Hotel is accented with pavilion decor, set in the style of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. All of its suites are furnished with tiny leaf motif sandalwood and furniture items in red ebony-like wood. These choices reflect the cultural tradition centered on more than luxury, namely on their mission to satisfy the search for an out of the ordinary environment.

Booked this hotel as we wanted to try Hutong hotel. Booked a 4D3N of a deluxe room and we requested for a chinese style room. Room was quite nice, not very big but the furniture inside was pretty, toilet was spacious and the roof was transparent one sided hence you are able to view the sky when you are having bath. Slightly downside is the toilet was too cold, we went in December and the temperature goes down to negative 7/8 and the bathroom was super cold. Hotel is located in a small alley, it is not super near the train hence might need about 10-15 min. Day ends faster in winter so around 430pm the sky will turn dark and the Alley will be quite quiet, but they are people walking around so still ok. Around the hotel has no shops as it is a neighborhood, but walk out to the Main Street will have some home operated mart which covered your basic needs. As it is a Hutong hotel, the door is locked always, whenever you come back from shopping or tour, you will have to ring the bell for them to open the door for you. One thing which I found inappropriate was, as we only staying for 3 nights, we did not required to make bed everyday, hence we hang the “Do Not Disturb” tag on our door, but 2 days in a row they came in as well. It’s not that we have things missing or whatever, but since the guest have op for do not disturb means they do not need cleaning, hence it is inappropriate to just step into the room and clean. Other than that I think the hotel is quite good.

Dear guests, Thank you very much for taking your valuable time to post such a charming and complimentary review. Your praise will certainly encourage the team to continue to make every effort to ensure each of our guests takes away an unforgettable memory of their stay. Our hotel was originally the private residence of Suoni, a famous high ranking officer in Qing Dynasty. The traditional courtyard has a long history, which remains its original layout. Lots of furniture is made of sandalwood, so you could experience the life of aristocrats of the feudal period. Our hotel is close to Metro Line 6 and only 50 meters away from the main street. It is very convenient. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Should your travels bring you back this way, I hope that you will stay with us again.

I took my 19 year sold to Beijing and I really wanted to stay in a more unique hotel and this was it. So wonderful; staff were wonderful and the Hu Tong neighborhood was so charming. Subway station was 2 blocks away; we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again.

We enjoined our stay at Shichahai Sandalwood Hotel very much. It is a small hotel located in a narrow street (Hutong) within walking distance to several of Beijing's attractions. Large rooms, nice breakfast and helpful staff.

I spent 2 nights in this hotel and stayed in one of the room facing the courtyard (I requested this type of room at the tike of reservation and they satisfied my request). The place is just like the pictures and even better. The courtyard is beautiful and very cosy, gives the idea of traveling back in time. In the morning after breakfast time they put a calligraphy set on he table and it's free to use, and also you can watch a shadow theater performance in the sister hotel nearby. The service is top level, everyone speaks English and take care of your stay without being too invasive. The bathroom is super modern and very well designed, the breakfast is simple but delicious (I'm not a fan of crazy big buffet breakfast). Outside of the hotel you are right in the middle of a Hutong, super close to 2 subway lines, on the west there is a fun local not too touristy pedestrian street with a couple of live music pubs at night, on the east all the beihai area with tourist attractions and so on. I am extremely satisfied. Only two tiny thing I would change: first, instead of calling the rooms A01, A02, A0... etc, I suggest the hotel could choose more beautiful and evocative names, like the one of the Forbidden City's pavilions and gate: guestroom of the thousands springs, suite of the Supreme Tranquillity... Something like his ahaha. Second thing, instead of using a modern looking lock, the doors could have an old style lock, I have seen many of them around the city antiques shop, it would make the experience of time traveling much more complete!
