A small and quiet hotel that suits budget travel. Though the hotel and its room are small, I would definitely recommend this hotel. Location wise, it is ideal as metro/subway is a few minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel is located in a small street where you can find restaurants right in front of the hotel. A Halal Chinese...

Helpful, Super Friendly and Accommodating Staff. Understands English. Downside is Bad Wifi and Dirty Carpets. Kudos for the very clean Restroom. Location Wise -- Very Accessible to Dongsi Subway around 3-5 minutes walk. Nearby McDonald's and Convenience Stores. There are a lot of Boutique Shops around the area. Where to Eat --- there are lots of traditional Beijing Restaurant Shops...

Unbelievably cheap with small but clean rooms. Really cannot all for more for the price. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The bar/lounge area is a great place for breakfast (pain au chocolat was most welcome after too many dumplings!). There's also a fantastic beer and coffee bar right next door which they have a joint venture with. Order a...

We found this to be an ideal place to stay in Beijing. We liked the idea of being in a smaller hotel in a hutong, and 161 had just the right blend of modernity and personal attention. The staff were always friendly and helpful, and happy to suggest places to eat and generally provide advice for anything that we asked...

161 hotel has a great location. Third floor rooms are the best. Good bathroom and air conditioning. Coffee Shop open from 7am until late. Subway station 200m from hotel. Fare is 2 yuan anywhere. Ideal to go to Beijing West station for Bullet Train. Staff are friendly with tour desk in hotel. Also is pickup point for day tours.

Conveniently located hotel in a hutong, within a 5 minute walk from the metro station. Room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed although the only drawback was carpet floors. Staff were friendly and helpful in arranging tours (e.g. Great Wall of China) at a reasonable price. Neat upstairs cafe/bar and outside patio area for lounging. A decent selection...

Excellent location. In a Hutong so really part of old Beijing but was in walking distance from Forbidden City etc and shopping streets, very near a subway, supermarket, restaurants. Good coffee bar but not Chinese prices! Very casual, friendly atmosphere. Will do washing and drying for 60 Yuan (£6).Make sure you have cash to pay for the hotel when you...

Cute Hotel. Friendly staff. Bring / buy your own drinking water. They don't offer complimentary bottle of water. Another thing, have your money changed to Chinese Yuan in the airport. 161 Hotel don't have a foreign exchange service. We also had a difficulty in looking for a foreign currency exchange counter nearby. Restaurants near the hotel serves delicious Chinese cuisine...
