Staff were very helpful - attractive decor and quiet courtyard although there are bars around. Room is comfortable and reasonable size altho the glass panels around the bathroom are a little bit strange. The location is in the middle of the Do gcheng hutongs and...More
Great place to stay. Reasonably priced and vibrant environment to observe how the locals live. Great street food cooked and served up around the corner. Close to subway and buses to get around. Staff are the biggest asset.
The hotel amenities and location are perfect for a few days in Beijing. The area is one of the most interesting and the hotel is surrounded by a lot of nice places to eat. We really enjoyed the very inexpensive and yummy home made buffet...More
This hotel is clean and comfortable with an excellent bed and a great shower. The room provides two small bottles of water everyday, as well as a small tin of hand cream, shampoo and a toothbrush/toothpaste. The staff is quite helpful and called a taxi...More
Starting with the good: The room was okay. Interesting Mao-era decorations. Location was good, near the Lama Temple and Confucius Temple.

The blind only blocks off the side facing the bed. I believe all of their rooms are set up with the same furnishing and see through bathroo. When you come out from the hostel, turn to your left and you will find a number of local eating places. It is quite safe even after midnight because the small cafe and bars on both side of the alley leading towards the Main Street is pretty busy with customers. Make sure you don't turn right when you come out from the hostel. If you haven't booked this hostel, I would recommend the Jade Garden near the Imperial palace. Check out from Trip Adviser.
