Hotel was a good value and we would stay there again. No one at the desk spoke English but their smart phones and my tablet solved most of our problems. The beds were very hard but that is typical of basic Chinese hotels. The hotel and room were clean but the maid service was very limited, i.e. they did not change the sheets or clean the toilet in the week we stayed there and had to be reminded to leave the water bottles. They changed the towels. The free breakfast was a joke. 1 container [227 ml] milk 1 mini loaf of bread and 1 stick of meat similar to baloney. There was a lady just outside the gate selling the large flat egg thing that was quite good. It is a short walk to the South Train station but #20 bus cost only 30 cents and saved 4-6 block walk. Note that hotel is behind Golden Oasis and is a bit hard to see from the road and does not look like the above photo.…
I would like to share with all travellers that after arriving to Beijing on 10th Dec, we were to check into the hotel next door at 3 am after paying for the taxi fare of RMB 140.00 but was refused as their receptionist told us that their hotel only for domestic client and not foreigner as I hailed from Malaysia. Imagine being tired and exhausted from jet lag and hungry, we are facing this kind of problem. Luckily my friend and I found that the above hotel cater for foreigner and having rooms available, I really feel lucky need not to sleep at the railway station or become homeless. Rooms are average but comfortable and clean. Distance to the Beijing South Railway Station is approximately 1.5-2 km.
