I stayed here as a solo traveller for 7 nights in May. This hotel, unlike many hotels I have stayed in, is actually nicer in reality than it looks in photos! It is full of marble, glitz, gilding, mirrors, bespoke deep carpets, chandeliers. It sounds like the most gaudy place on earth, but it is actually really impressive (if totally over the top!) The rooms are really beautiful. The huge bed and pillows were really comfortable. The bathroom had a massive bath and a great separate shower. Good air con, lovely views, and tea and coffee making. The mini bar was disappointing. One beer and miniature vodka - the rest soft drinks. Absolutely beautiful swimming pool and jacuzzi which I had to myself when I visited. Breakfast and dinner in the main restaurant were excellent. Great choices of Asian and European dishes. One gripe I had was the ridiculous cost of wine with dinner. For some unknown reason they had no house wine available for the entire duration of my stay. So the most reasonable imported red cost 50 euros a bottle or 12 euros for a small glass! Outrageous. On one occasion as I left the restaurant after dinner I was chased by a staff member to sign for a beer which I thought (wrongly) was complimentary. I felt that was sadly inappropriate and could have been handled better considering the cost of the hotel - the single room supplement alone cost me 600 euros for the weeks stay in the hotel! Apart from that small issue, I thoroughly recommend this hotel. It's fantastic.

We loved our 3-night stay at the Legendale. The hotel location is fantastic. It's a 3 minute walk to Dengkishou metro station (we arrived to and from the airport via metro). It is a (flat) 10 minute walk to the Wangfujing pedestrian street and 20 minute walk to Tiananmen square. The hotel style is modelled on a classic European style which means it stands out a bit in Beijing. It is quite tasteful so don't be put off by the aesthetic. The room was spacious and well appointed. It had a nice large bath separate from the shower. The hotel gym was good (and updated), the breakfast was adequate. What really stood out was the service we received from the concierge staff. We had a delivery sent to the hotel which they had to track down and collect from the local distribution centre as we were departing Beijing that night. Otherwise we would have left before the delivery arrived. This was well and beyond what would be expected and deserves commending. The only criticism I have of the hotel was that the lounge in the lobby was overpriced for what it was. We didn't go back a second time.

I spent 2 nights in this hotel and it was wonderful. The room was big and comfortable, with luxury details. In fact, all the hotel is high standard, including breakfast. Excellent location. It has a Portuguese cuisine restaurant although I did not have to time to try it.

This is the third time we stayed at Legendale Hotel, Beijing downtown, so YES, we like this hotle very much. The hotel was built not very long ago, it was inspired by French Castle style. It has huge high ceiling open area at the lobby which I love. We always pick the big room, one time we booked 2 bedroom suite for extended family to join us, which were awesome experience. This time, we get a suit on 16th floor. We loved it again. I love the furnitures, and decorations inside the room, plenty of them, and really nice. There was a really tall book shelf in the room filled with deco, made the room homy. The bath room is spacious, marble top for vanities and hardware are shinning with golden color, a French Chateau luxury style. The sitting room is nice and big, with nice sitting. The bedroom has a big bed. The suite was very clean. The only draw back seems to be the building is aging faster than it's real age. You can tell there are some efforts to be put in fixing the cracks in the walls, however, the fixing could be done is a better quality. The service here are pretty good, especially for our first 2 times here. People will walk to the door and lead us into check in counter, not this time. Well, the conceige service is always great. They had helped us booked DaDong resturants a couple of times, and they are always very helpful. The room service was great, had a bit of English communication challenge, but they cared about our request, and came to our room to figure out what we need in very short time. We had lounge access, and the lounge was very nice, and with good food and service. The breakfast downstairs are very good as well. The location for this hotel is awesome, we check out parks by calling DiDi car service, and we get all the places really fast. We also walk to WangFuJing Street which is 5 mins away. We properly will go stay here again since we love the location and enjoyed the hotel. However, I do hope the hotel will be remodeled, restored back to it's original glory.

Positives; Location of the hotel very good. Rooms are very nice - a very large comfortable bed and the rooms lovely and clean. The majority of the staff are very helpful. Richard Liu (service ambassador) was incredible. Arranged visits for us to the Great Wall and advice on getting to Tiananmen Square etc. Can’t praise him enough. We got back late from our trip and missed our checkout time and another young lady, whose name I didn’t get, was very helpful when I telephoned to explain. Negatives; On check in, no pleasantries, no advice, just a case of here is your key. Went to L’Cafe for dinner. Seated eventually- after 10 minutes we asked for a menu and a drink. Eventually got both. This was only 20.30 in the evening and there was virtually no other guests. Food very mediocre- burger undercooked and cold, pasta penne/carbonara tasteless and cold (couldn’t be bothered to wait for a member of staff to tell them). The staff members seemed more interested in getting the tables ready for breakfast the following morning than looking after the current guests. On first impressions this hotel looks fantastic, but sadly I feel it’s all fur coat with very little customer service to compliment the opulent surroundings.
