When i do a review in TripAdvisor i always read the reviews before mine; and every so often i read them and think, "did they go to the same place i went to? Am i reviewing the same place?" This is one of those occasions. I found the Sentrim Castle Royal to be superb in every category, equal to the...

This is a hotel in the entre of Mombasa which looks good on paper but is pretty grim! I booked a double room for a one night stay and when I arrived I was charged an additional $US15 because I wanted a double bed! The hotel claims to be 'boutique' but it is just tatty and run down. The room...

Born and raised in Mombasa, this hotel was an iconic landmark and epitome of world class service, oozing a nostalgic old-world flair. During a recent business trip to Mombasa, I opted to stay at the Castle (Royal) hotel for the same reasons. Despite booking through a third-party site and arriving late in the afternoon, check-in was a breeze. I was...

I have stayed in the Castle Royal hotel on numerous occasions. I stay there if I have an early morning flight to catch as it is on Mombasa island and 15 minutes by taxi from the airport. It has an old colonial feel about it. The rooms are clean and well fitted out for a business hotel. The food offerings...

My daughter and I stayed for a night while we toured Mombassa. This is a classic hotel and is well cared for. The hotel, restaurant, and bar are fantastic. Staff is very polite and helpful. Rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. Price seems comparable with other similar locations in Kenya. One reservation is with the tour service that is operated...

We have stayed one night before our safari. The rooms have everything you need and they are clean. Only the interiour in the bathroom was old. In the night it was really loud. The restaurant was good, all meals has been fine. If you do not want to stay longer it is a good choice.

It's a nice place but they charge you extra 1500 if you want to bring a guest to your room for a visit. And of course you will have guests, because the place is in the middle of town. So if you want to overpay, this is the place.

The reception was cordial and ambiance warm and subtle. Since the Cocktail was an evening event the decor was neatly done and favored the corporate colors of our host for the evening. What I enjoyed the most was the open bar service which was exceptional.

The rooms are spacious, although very basic. You will have access to free WIFI, and TV in the room. The hotel is located in the CBD, making it easy or a business traveller. It is due for renovation, and an improvement on the food offering with be great.
