My wife and I were spending some time in Nyali, Mombasa. We decided to go for a trip to south coast and a local travel agency told us about this place. They planned the trip for us including game drive in the area of the hotel plus a walk to the beautiful waterfall in the middle of the rainforest. But...

On our second Kenya holiday, we also did an overnight excursion to Shimba Hills, staying for 1night/2days at the Shimba Rainforest Lodge in June 2007. SHIMBA HILLS The reserve is beautifully located approx. 1 hour drive from Diani Beach, South Coast. There are forests, savannah landscape, ponds with lilac water lillys, hills, palms and we really liked the varied landscape...

If you are in visiting the Mombasa or Diani Beach areas of Kenya, don' t miss out on a well kept secret location. Shimba Rainforest Lodge is sited on a watering hole in the Shima Rainforest Reserve in the hills above Diani beach.
