Voyager Beach Resort has earned commendations for its diverse and well-maintained amenities, including pools, beachfront access, and varied dining experiences, all of which complement the vibrant atmosphere filled with live music and entertainment. The prime beachfront location enchants guests, though some reviewers express concerns about room maintenance and cleanliness.
The service at Voyager is generally celebrated for its professionalism and friendliness, and while the all-inclusive packages are seen as good value, there are occasional grievances regarding value perception.

Detailed Reviews
We had an amazing stay from arrival until departure at this hotel over the weekend.
My thanks to kelvin for a great aqua aerobics class on Saturday morning. I slept deeply at the fun pool shortly after. The staff generally exurb warmth. They all contributed to the enjoyment of our stay but in particular I would would like to thank Winnie and Margaret that served us in the restaurant over the 2 days. They are both lovely, personable women who are great ambassadors for the hotel. The staff at this hotel do a terrific job! I like the fact that guests are asked to sanitise their hands entering the restaurant. The food was the best we’ve had on our travels around Kenya a big thank you to kitchen staff. We were served high quality food for our inclusive status and dietary requirements were taken into account. Thank you June for your helpful and friendly service on the front desk.
Finally, the gardens are stunning! The gardeners do a brilliant job. I could add more about the entertainment nights and the sense of community spirit but it is best to experience it for yourself. My only regret is that we couldn’t have stayed longer but we will definitely be coming back!

We were checked in great and we were also given a glass of natural juice that was so sweet. The room was good but not that spacious but i really enjoyed the stay. The meals and drinks were superd but some food were very spicy. We also enjoyed swimming in the pools and also in the beach.

Positives
1. Seldom disappoints.
2. Travelled for a week’s seminar- the seminar facilities were relatively excellent.
3. Very friendly staff.
4. Excellent scenery, swimming pools, garden.
5. Excellent food and drink variety.
6. Excellent observance of Covid rules. Buffet is done in a way that observes minimal surface contact by guests.
7. Although the beach has rocky patches, these occur naturally and definitely not the hotel’s fault.
8. Private beach area.
9. Excellent relaxing areas.
10. Excellent hygiene.
11. Excellent and definite value for your money.
Negatives
1. Hotel should make better sitting arrangements in the seminar halls. Some attendees complained of lack of a better view of the speaker because of the pillars. Also there was limited water provision.
2. A bit pricey especially during this Covid pandemic period. Not favorable for a budget stay.
3. The hotel should negotiate with the seminar facilitators on cost of accommodation. We were many attendants- not one of us stayed in because of the high cost.

+1
My Family and I stayed at Voyager Beach Resort between the 6th-10th August 2021. It was amazing to say the least. We arrived at the hotel at 9:30 am and we’re welcomed very nicely with some fresh orange juice, we requested an early check in and got one by 11am. We were taken to our room and the rooms were very clean and tidy. Bathrooms were also okay, not the most modern but it did the job! We were on full board and got unlimited drinks and snacks between 12 (noon) to 12 (midnight), the service and staff were super friendly and the supply of drinks and food were never ending. They have 3 pools, one including a relaxing infinity pool for 18+ with the view of the ocean. The other 2 have fun water sports all day and water aerobics which we participated in at 10 am everyday. The food is very fresh and clean, there is a huge variety and different cuisine each evening. Our favorite was the salad bar and desserts which varied everyday. The beach itself wasn’t the cleanest due to seaweed but regardless was beautiful and enjoyable. The hotel offered boat rides, sailing, canoeing etc.. and we went on the glass boat ride. It was one morning and we left at 10am, snorkeled at 2 locations, one of which was a site full of starfishes- truly beautiful and an experience to never forget. On our final day we requested late checkout at our flight was at 8pm. We were allowed to use the pool and facilities that day however the all inclusive drinks and snacks stopped at 10am. We went to Yuls (restaurant) 12 minutes away from Voyager by taxi and had lunch there… there are many other restaurants around the hotel which is very convenient. We used taxis around Mombasa and suggest using the app “Bolt” for affordable rides to locations. Finally, the entertainment was amazing thanks the A-team and we thoroughly enjoyed the acrobatics and dances! Overall our holiday was amazing and we will definitely be visiting Voyager again and we will recommend it to anyone who asks where to stay! It was superb and we will never forgot the memories we made together as a family❤️

Voyager Beach Resort has been like a second home to me for the last 7 years, we moved to Voyager from a competitor and have not regretted nor have we ever thought of returning. We visited amidst the Covid nightmare but we were pleasantly surprised and relieved as the management has gone out of their way to ensure all health and safety protocols in line with the MOH protocols have been followed to the letter. It's a family friendly ( extremely friendly I must say) resort. Children of all ages from toddlers to teenagers to young adults have fun activities that keep them busy for most of the day which is a relief to parents and guardians looking for a relaxing holiday, thanks to Billoh and the animation team. Food is fresh, delicious and a wide spread it doesn't get boring no matter how long you stay, there's always something different, a lot of creativity from Chef Vincent and team. Housekeeping is also on top of their game, I have never had to call for replenishment of room amenities or to have my room done, always on time.
Do not forget to ask for signature cocktails at the look out bar from the ever energized and passionate Gona, don't leave that bar without taking 'Gona special'
I would highly recommend Voyager Beach Resort, the team is led by a very able, very accommodating Ship Captain Sammy greatly supported by the likes of Eunice, Sam, Charles, Bedan ( an excellent attention to detail reservations agent)
You can ask for interconnected rooms when traveling with younger family and oh the superior garden facing and deluxe sea facing are the best 😚
We look forward to our next stay.

Extremely beautiful property with very friendly staff.
Service is the most striking element here....i believe that's the selling point for the property.
The staff are excellent in what they are assigned for and it was noticeable that everyone goes out of their way to make sure the guests are satisfied...that's an unforgettable experience to me!
The food is really good, lots of variety and served hot.
The rooms are very very clean, white linens changed everyday, toiletries replenished every day.
Covid 19 measures are taken very seriously here, bags fumigated on arrival, automatic hand sanitisers every where, regular temperature checks and a not so common thing in many properties,; a safety kit with 2 masks, sanitisers and wipes in the room.
Thank you George the Front office manager, Eva & Faith at the restaurant, John at the Snack Bar your excellent service was well noticed and appreciated.
We will be back again and again!

The hotel is themed around ship and voyages, each day the ship ( hotel) docked in a different port which was identified by the flag hanging in the reception area. The meals in the restaurant would have a choice of food from the country we were visiting. Our room was on the ground floor of a block that looked out to the Indian Ocean and a few paces away from the Adult Pool, but close enough to the livelier pools. The choice of food for every meal was extensive and although a buffet , it was served by the chefs from behind perspex screens, ensuring that all covid precautions were adhered to, as well as being met with a dash of hand sanitiser before being shown to a table. The bar overlooking the Ocean was a prefect place to start and finish the evening. The hotel did get very busy at the weekends but we always found a tranquil spot to enjoy our relaxing holiday. All the staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful and the adult pool attendant Ahmed always went that extra mile, and as a bonus he was a fellow football coach, coaching young boys in the local area. The beach isn't private so does have local people trying to sell you trips and gifts, slightly annoying but it is their only way to make a living. We will hopefully return some day

What a fabulous time we have had here at the voyager.
It’s a perfect hotel to rest before and after our 4 day safari.
Staff are just wonderful,it’s in a beautiful location right on the beach with an infinity pool to soak up the views
The rooms are traditional and basic. Lovely large comfy bed with everything you need in the room.
The food has been incredible the variety and standard is very high.
We are vegetarian and have ate like kings,
The hotel got quite busy on our second set of four nights and gave it a good atmosphere but we never waited for a thing in the restaurant, the staff are so attentive and are busy making sure your not queueing.
Waiting on staff are super friendly and are always checking we had drinks.
We particularly liked the beach bar high up over looking the sea so beautiful.
I can’t list all the staff who have made our holiday wonderful as all of them have. The voyager should be very proud of there team.
Although the beach was beautiful we kept off it as there are people hassling you to buy there goods it gets abit much at times.
I did find a lovely lady though who I booked and had the most wonderful full body massage for $15 1.5yrs!!!!
Her name was dida.
Thanks for a wonderful stay it’s been fabulous

What a pleasure it was staying at this resort. I was part of a large group who were celebrating a friend’s big Birthday and our stay was truly memorable. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome and the service throughout our stay was 5 star, from the staff servicing our rooms, restaurant staff, the Animation Team (aka The A Team) who provided fantastic entertainment along with keeping us fit with aqua aerobics. Everyone was so friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were looked after. The hotel theme of a ship was novel and the LookOut Bar was a favorite spot of mine overlooking the beach with spectacular views over the lagoon and reef. Another favorite spot for members of our group was the Swahili Lounge where you could escape and chill out and cool down with a gentle sea breeze blowing in from the Indian Ocean if the heat and humidity were too much. I happen to love warm weather and sunshine and when needing to cool down indulged in a dip in the gorgeous pools....all 3 of them! I sincerely hope I get to return to Voyager sometime soon.

Anyone who's been to Voyager knows that they're known for being a fantastic family hotel with their all inclusive package. They have an extensive and tasty buffet which caters to some of us who have kids that are picky eaters and the most vibrant kiddie club.
Therefore, when I called to book a staycation for my family, I made sure to ask about the meals and activities knowing very well the pandemic might have affected operations. Bedan the gentleman I spoke to assured me that service has resumed to normal and I should take the full board. I had even opted for bed and breakfast or HB knowing how my kids can be picky eaters. He categorically stated buffet is back and the All inclusive will resume on 1st September and there's no much difference cost wise between HB and FB.
You can imagine the shock when we check in and there's no buffet only plate service...which is fine if we had been informed. This meant that we had to go out for meals after kids barely eating dinner and breakfast as there were no kiddie options and food took an hour to come to the table.
As though that was not enough, I ended up paying for full board for all nights and yet we ended up going for meals outside because that was what we booked for. Apparently no one could do anything from the hotel manager, duty manager because Bedan who we reserved with was not on duty and was unreachable on phone. That experience left such a bitter taste in our mouths. I've never been to a hotel where no one can solve your issue and you pay for what you haven't consumed. It will take a while to recover from that terrible experience.

Dear Kui, We thank you for the recent stay in our Facility. We were greatly honored to be your hosts and glad that you chose to sail with us. We have since seen your feedback which we truly appreciate. Voyager listens to the voice of the customers and makes efforts to ensure that appropriate corrective actions are taken when there is an opportunity. As you correctly say our Kids Club has been our identity product and we have done very well, this is reflected by the rating in this forum and the kind of feedback shared by other sailors who travel with us. Indeed when we met we discussed the current changes due to protocols and agreed on a way forward. We did believe we have reached a truce. We have since noted your other comments and we assure you that these too are now on our screen. With Kind regards, Sammy Maende, Management

there are camel rides on the beach but are not managed by the hotel
hi sorry I don't know about the mini bars my room didn't have one.
dress code- it's the hot coastal weather so dress comfortably in your summer clothes, you can also dress up a bit during the theme nights. it is just a fun change from being in shorts and a wife beater daily.
the beach is slightly secluded so not many hawkers/idlers, but there is always the one off person trying to sell a boat ride to you (once you say no they leave you alone)
it is safe for a solo traveller - male or female.
Hi, yes they have a court and offer rackets
