We stayed at The Royal Mara from October 4th to the October 6th 2010. The Safari was arranged last year through D M Tours & Safaris www.dmtours.com , who are based in Diani Beach. We did this over the internet and I would highly recommend this company if you wish to arrange a Safari for yourself. They accept Visa with... More

We spent 4 nights here as part of our Honeymoon and what an amazing place! Firstly the rooms are beautiful, you can literally lie in bed and watch the animals pass by or see the hippos bathe in the river from your terrace. The location of the Royal Mara is first class as you are literally in the thick of... More

We stayed here one night with small children. Locationwise, it is not well signposted and not easy to reach. However, without 4 wheel drive access to the lodge was difficult in wet conditions. Reception was poor and staff lacked professionalism. Ground at entrance area was wet with standing water and mucky conditions even though it wasn't rainy season. Dining facilty... More

I have never written a review on trip advisor before, but my experience was so fantastic, I felt I had to write this review. We booked the Royal Mara from our resort in Mombasa (Voyager Hotel - on the beach, don't book through the hotel they are much more expensive). We were met literally at the plane door and our... Having been to Africa 15 times and the Mara 7, my wife and I can emphatically state that The Royal Mara Safari Lodge located in Kenya’s Masai Mara Conservancy, is as good as it gets. The setting, the tents, the facilities, the services and especially the staff created a Safari experience that was one of the best we have ever... More

When you search on internet some ideas for a safari you’ll find hundreds of them, but when you start getting into details, you find nothing is better than Royal Mara Safari Lodge! You start with these 2 wonderful people, George Sr. and Jr. that helped me plan my trip from beginning to end, inclusive the flights, taxies etc. All I... More

We spent a few nights at the royal mara at the start of august, we organised everything via email including our mombasa air flights to and from the mara. I would definatly recommend doing this as it went without any problems. However if your travelling from your beach hotel set off in good time as our taxi from our hotel... More

Just arrived back to Australia after a sensational trip which included 7 nights at Royal Mara. The previous reviews have said it all. Staff helpful, friendly and caring. Accomodation first class. Game drives superb, a special mention of thanks to John. If you can, deal direct with George Sphikas Snr for information and advise and above all the offer of... More

I must confess I am biased regarding the Royal Mara. I have enjoyed all THREE of my stays at the Royal Mara. This should speak for itself. Aside from the lodging (which is amazing, surpassed only by the location on the Mara River and the food, I found the staff so wonderful that I became invoved with their soccer team... More
