Hi I have read many excellent reviews which provide a detailed picture of this amazing place.. We were privileged to stay for 10 days! on our honeymoon. I have stayed at luxury lodges and my wife had previously stayed in the Mara. The 'luxury' element may be very slightly less than the very expensive lodges and the food ( which...

It's hard to know where to start, as everything was absolutely perfect! We did an extensive research for hotels in the Maasai Mara. We chose Royal Mara for several reasons: (1) the price includes EVERYTHING and additional activities such as visiting the Maasai village or the rhino sanctuary are inexpensive ($20/person) while other hotels wanted to charge $100 for extra...

We were not expecting tented accommodation having seen the keyword lodge. On arrival processed very efficiently and shown to our tent. Beautiful hand carved furniture, plenty of space and amenities that would put many hotels to shame. I can only endorse the comments of "Carol P" who has written it up splendidly. Our driver guide was Emmanuel who by origin...

We spent 5 days at the Royal Mara Lodge and can't say enough about it! It is first class all the way! We were greeted warmly by James the camp manager at reception and given warm facecloths to freshen up and a cold glass of fresh papaya juice. Our "tents" were very spacious and comfortable, with beautiful hand carved wood...

This was our 2nd time to this camp. We first visited 3 years ago and we had to visit again whilst we were in the Mara. Now - it was as fantastic as the first time. The luxury tents are amazing. The staff are excellent and will do anything for you. They bring you coffee at 6am so get you...

My wife and I stayed there for 3 nights during last August. It was one of THE MOST wonderful vacations ever. The lodge is small which gives a wonderful atmosphere. Tents are located just above the river so you get to wake up with the Hypo's and go to sleep with them. Food was Excellent thanks to the Chef David...

After careful consideration in booking what we thought would be a great experience and accommodation we were still slightly anxious about the decision, we couldn't have been more pleased. The location (overlooking the Maria river), each lodge/tent was superb. Everyone of the staff were so friendly, attentive, helpful and knowledgable, having only 8 accommodations made it so intimate but with...

We had originally intended to visit last November for my wife's 50th Birthday but because of foreign office advice at the time had to cancel. The owner George was very understanding and allowed us a credit to be used on a later visit which we duly did in September for our wedding anniversary. We arranged the trip ourselves staying two nights in...

I could not speak more highly of my experience at this wonderful property. The staff were so friendly and obliging, the food was excellent, the rooms atmospheric, spacious and spotless. The location right on the banks of the Mara river with resident hippos was perfect and our safari driver was outstanding in both his driving ability and his efforts to...

We spent 3 nights at this Lodge and we were just blown away. Service is personalized, you get a driver, a security guard, a waiter and a housekeeper assigned to you for the entire stay. Within hours arriving you feel like you are with family. Our driver Julius was experienced but you could also tell that he shared a passion...
