Truly an exceptional way to spend time in the Mara.
Mara Siria Camp was a really unique place to stay during our safari experience. We had a luxury tent with a big bed, outdoor seating, and a large private bathroom. Everything we needed was supplied, from hot water for showers upon request to replenished bottled water for drinking and teeth brushing. The food was fantastic. I am vegetarian and the food prepared for me was delicious. The views of the mara are breathtaking. The camp sits high above the savannah and there are several places where you can sit and admire the views below, including a couple of beautiful decks and the plunge pool. The staff were really lovely and accommodating. I highly recommend Mara Siria if you are visiting the Mara on safari. It really added something extra to an already incredible experience in the Mara. Note: I'm asked below whether we had mosquito netting...We didn't have mosquito netting around the bed...but then the whole tent had netting and we kept the flaps closed when we were in and out so we never saw a mosquito anywhere.
Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We are glad to learn that you had a wonderful time during your stay and that you were happy with our services as well. We provide mosquito nets and are always available on request. However, the camp's altitude is at 1.840m and generally, no mosquitos within the camp and no incidents of malaria have ever been reported. Thank you for choosing Mara Siria Camp.

Wonderful experience, kindest and most welcoming people I have ever met
I have never before experienced anything like this. My friend and I booked "the flying package" with phoenix travels which sent us to this camp for 2 nights. Everything went smoothly; no questions were left unanswered, no wishes were left unfulfilled. On arrival we were greeted by a group of staff, everyone was introduced and everyone remembered our names for all of our stay, which made us feel most welcome. Meals were three times a day with salad, maincourse (choice of meat or veg) and dessert. It was plenty and delicious. We went for game drives every day with an incredible driver, who shared his vast knowledge about the country, the flora and fauna with us and who made sure we were comfortable the whole time and got to see all the animals we came to see (and more). There was no timetable, we could choose freely the time of departure and when it was before breakfast or in the middle of the day a meal was prepared to enjoy on the way. Sleeping in the tent at Mara Siria Camp was very much like staying at a hotel with a comfortable bed, electricity and even wifi available, the difference being the zebra, giraffes and maybe other animals walking past our door. Temperatures dropped to a around 15Degrees celsius after sunset, but there were hot water bottles in our beds when we returned from the dining area. We did not go on a walking tour, which is also offered, but were still accompanied on our ways through the camp, told everything we wanted to know about the Masai, the plants and the animals we encountered. All in all my stay at the camp was a brilliant experience, most of all because of the lovely staff that it was very hard to say goodbye to. If ever I get the chance to go on safari again I will not hesitate to come back to Mara Siria.
Dear Stefanie, we are delighted to hear you had an amazing experience at the camp :-). Asante sana for sharing it. He hope to see you again soon!

Beautiful views, great value for money
Mara Siria camp is a small camp located outside the main park entrance on a hill overlooking the Mara. The views from the hotel are amazing. The tents are comfortable but overall basic, as is the general setup. If you are looking for the high end luxury hotels Kenya is known for, this is not it but it's cozy and a fun place to visit with family. A few things to consider when planning your Mara trip. This camp is outside the Mara so you spend a bit of time each morning to drive down and need to leave the park before sunset. However you also save some money as you only pay the park fee when you feel like the game drive and not on a day relaxing. The location overlooking the Mara is breath taking but with small children you will need to keep a close eye on them. The price for value at this camp is absolutely excellent and a reason so many people make this their regular Mara spot. The food is good, nothing special but varied and the kids liked it. We will come again.
Dear Guest, thank you for taking your time to share such detailed a review! I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us! We are in deed rather focussed on an autzentic experience with individual services than high end luxury. I hope your next stay isjust around the corner. Call us if there is anything we can help you with.

I had a wonderful stay at this camp just outside the park. When booking, I suggest you book tent 5 or 6 which have amazing views over the park and the Mara river below. The staff are brilliant and are always asking how you are and whether they can do anything for you. They greet you warmly as you return from safari. There’s a plunge pool which overlooks the park. I didn’t use it but it has a wonderful view. The food menu is limited but good quality and I enjoyed it all. Jacob was my amazing guide and I nominate him for “Masai Mara guide of the year”. He had everything a good guide should: great knowledge, a good network amongst the other guides and he was always checking what I wanted to see and doing his utmost to make sure I saw all the game I wanted, including a crossing. Everytime we moved on, he checked that I was ready. May he be picking flowers in the Mara for many years to come.

What a wonderful place. The view. The people around Joel and Christin responsible at this camp are very friendly and accommodating causing a warm, family atmosphere. People often have a casual conversation about their experiences. And of course, the Masai Mara is higly recommended - Mara Siria is a very convenient starting point. We had two incredible days with Defton (I'm not sure if the name is spelled correctly), who was competent, humorous, relaxed, but extremely committed to going the extra mile for great experiences. The food and drink is not star chefs but more than fine and just as appropriate.

We stayed for 2 nights in one of the deluxe tents. The camp was basic but had all necessities needed. The staff was amazing, we where welcomed and checked in by Emanuel. Food was basic but good. Included in the stay are the; Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and coffee/thee. Drinks where charged separately that where reasonably priced. We got The location is just the best, close to the gate and animal sightings everywhere. The gate where the camp is located is one of the more quite ones but on this side of the Mara the animals where the best. No big crouds with lots of vehicles like on the other side near the main gate. We booked though Phoenix Safaris, this camp is owned by them. With our booking we got a driver that drove us all around to all places we went to. Our driver was Richard, OMG, this is the best you could get! He is the best driver and guide and especially animal spotter out there. He was always the first guide around to spot a special animal and then other guides would join and watch the sighting, he was friends with all the other guides and knew the staff at the Mara gates and made our trip the best! During our stay we also booked a Hot Airballoon morning safari with champagne breakfast, this is a once in a lifetime experience and a definite must do! After the breakfast our superguide was ready to take us the rest of the day on a gamedrive, he took the lunch packed from the resort, this way we could make the most of our day and not have to go back to the camp for lunch. Only comment i could give is place a water kettle in the room so guests could make coffee or tea in the deluxe tents.

Having just returned from a wonderful twelve-day visit to Kenya organized by Phoenix Safaris, I can unreservedly recommend this travel company. Iris put together an itinerary that gave us a perfect first impression of this beautiful country, and of the safari lodges where we stayed, their own Mara Siria tented camp at Masai Mara was the highlight: luxurious accommodation, incredibly friendly staff, lovingly prepared meals. When they inquire about dietary concerns on arrival, they mean it. I was pampered with specially prepared, onion-free dinners for our three nights there. And the view from Tent 5 was spectacular. We are sure to return and bring the family.

We had a wonderful stay at Mara Siria. The camp is in a stunning location with terrific views from the escarpment to the plain below, and the tents are very well spread out amongst the trees to give privacy and a sense of the natural environment. Food was excellent. The game in the Mara triangle is superb and the guides at the camp make the game drives unforgettable. Indeed all the staff at Mara Siria are incredibly helpful, friendly, professional and knowledgable - they couldn't do enough to make our stay as memorable as possible. Overall we had an amazing holiday and couldn't recommend Mara Siria highly enough.

A quick note from myself and my girlfriend who were very fortunate to stay at your wonderful and stunning Mara Siria camp over a week ago. and also whether this was luck or planned I don’t know you did give us the one tent that has the best view! Richard our guide was great and we had an amazing day in the park getting to see all of the big five and much more. You have an excellent platoon of staff at the camp who work tirelessly in making sure that all of your guests are well catered for. I wanted to highlight in particular Charlie (whom I believe is there at your camp on secondment from the UK) who clearly being new to the Mara and your camp still wanted to make sure that all of the guests were comfortable from the moment that we arrived into camp. Emmanuel and Christine too were fantastic and did always try and go the extra mile.

Mara Siria Camp is perfect for nature loving people! The tents offer everything you need (especially the luxury ones) and give stunning views. The whole area is embedded in nature, the places to sit outside near the main tent are beautiful. Even you can see and hear the Mara river. Very friendly staff! Everything worked well! And the amazing little pool... breathtaking!

The location of the camp is about 20 minutes outside of the Mara triangle, high above the plain with a breathtaking view. The tents are very comfortable, large with toilet/hot water shower. The distance between the tents allows for privacy. It's really in the nature, we had zebras and even giraffes in "our garden". The staff are very friendly without being too submissive, they help wherever they can. The food was very good, with a choice of vegetarian ond non- veg meals. Our driver and guide was Richard, and we really think we wan 1st price with him. He showed and explained us just about everything, his game drives (6 in 4 days) were the highlight of our stay. Next time we would definitely try to have Richard again as our guide. Don't miss a bushwalk with Emmanuel, a local Masai and naturalist! He can show you the most amazing details on trees, shrubs and other plants.
