I was lucky enough to visit Cottars Camp for work and I have cannot fault the camp at all. It was such a magical experience and all the guides and staff were amazing. Ken our guide was wonderful and the food from their own vegetable garden was brilliant also. Calvin joined the team for evening meals and the entire trip... More

We stayed here in the end of April into early May this year. This was my first trip to Kenya, and to East Africa. I traveled with my 9-year old daughter, who loves animals, and we were not disappointed. The camp is located outside the Reserve and in an adjacent conservancy; interestingly, this seems to give an immediate advantage compared... More

The best think about Cottar's 1920's Camp is where it is located. Basically the camp is close to the Kenya/Tanzanian border. The annual migration is so close that you are there in no time at all. A must!

Mike and Gina, yes we do have a wonderful location which lets us get to the action in no time. Being on a conservancy means we don't run into any other non-Cottar's vehicles, so the experience is authentic and intimate. We hope to have you back soon, Calvin More

We planned and saved up for our trip to the Maasai Mara about a year in advance - after a ton of research, I chose Cottar's 1920's Camp as the final destination for our honeymoon. My expectations were incredibly high, and yet they were exceeded by the incredible grounds, delicious food, amazing game drives - but above all, by the... More

Dear Naomi, I and my staff are honored by your comments - 'I just cannot speak highly enough of the staff though, they were all so kind and personable and such wonderful story-tellers, and they made our time there the wonderful, special experience that it was. If you are planning to do a safari, go here. You'll never forget it.'... More

We could not say better things about our experience at Cottar's. The staff was incredible and the tents were impeccably appointed. Prior to our trip we did not fully understand the value of Cottar's being on a conservancy - but it means you don't run into any other non-Cottar's vehicles as they have exclusive use of the tenure - so... My friend and I spent the weekend at the camp and we were greeted at the airstrip by our guide Douglas and our Maasai guide Nebil. On our way back to the camp, we took a mini game drive and saw giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, black faced monkeys (cheeky monkeys), Thompson gazelles and warthogs. Once we arrived back at camp we... We stayed for five nights in April 2016 and it was an amazing break. We (couple) travelled with our 7 year old daughter and 9 month old baby. I mention the ages as anyone who has travelled with small children knows how a holiday can end up not really being a holiday. At Cottar's Camp, we had a holiday! There... More

Olive, thanks for the post ! I think this shows that having little uns on safari is not only safe but can be managed around the other guests in camp with perfect results for everyone....I don't get how some lodges have age limits for children...what's life without our kids on safari? if they are too small to remember we can... This is a very belated review as our trip to Cottar's was 3 years ago! I have to say that it was our most memorable trip ever even years later! Our family of 4 stayed in the family tent and we were traveling with another 4 friends in our party. Still to this day we all dream of some day... More

DEFINITELY STAY HERE...DEFINITELY EXPERIENCE THIS PLACE. This very special camp is true to the photos...a luxurious step back in time, very apropos for the once-in-a-lifetime safari I envisioned! Highest quality outfitting and decor, beautifully designed and thoughtfully laid out. The sprawling mess tent has several charming seating vignettes so different groups can have their own space at any one time... More

I picked Cottar’s because I wanted to do a safari, but didn’t want to stay in a lodge.  This camp was nicer and more luxurious than some of the safari lodges I stayed in. very friendly and attentive staff.
