We stayed here during a recent trip and found this to be the best of the places we stayed in country. We were greeted warmly on arrival by the team who was welcoming, low-key, and friendly. The site is of a manageable size. Our tent was large, furnished, and comfortable, with many windows looking out to great views of the surrounding conservancy. The food was good and the tea was plentiful. Drinks were available for those who wanted them. The walking safari in the conservancy was interesting and not strenuous. The facilities were convenient, understated and well-maintained. It is expensive, but it is totally worth the experience. The staff is also a strength of the camp. From the manager all the way down the line every staff member we met was extremely friendly, helpful, welcoming, generous with time, attentive without looming, and a pleasure to talk to at length. I definitely recommend this Camp to friends and family and we would stay there again.…
Will comeback at any time! Staff is super friendly, food is delicious and you can have breakfast or dinner with the best landscape: nature. Tent was very clean and comfortable. Security was superb! William and the team are doing a good job making you feel at home!
It is truly with a tear in our eyes that we said goodbye to the Kandili team after a 5 nights stay. Way beyond an exceptional stay completely in touch with nature (the camp is not fenced and the wildlife is abundant around the camp), what makes Kandili special is its very special and kind people, true and passionate about sharing their love for nature and their Maasai culture. Enjoy Kandili, take your time - I would recommend minimum 4 nights stay, there is nothing to be rushed there !
This was an awesome experience. Everything from the extremely comfortable tent, excellent meals, to the exceptional game drives and the services by the well trained, knowledgeable staff (special shout out to Mosquito!). The camp was immaculate and our lunch and dinners were tailored to our needs and liking. Loved every minute of our time. Thank you Sophia for the prompt arrangement of our trip, arranging the vehicle and last minute covid test before departing.
We (a group of three female friends in our 40s) had a MAGICAL time at Kandili. I live in a foodie city with amazing restaurants, but the food at Kandili was the best I've had in years - anywhere. I have a gluten-free/dairy-free diet and they did a fantastic job accommodating that -- including with GF rolls, GF pasta and GF pancakes. I was in food heaven. Also, this is a perfect destination for anyone who is hesitant about traveling during the pandemic. All of our meals were outside, they took our temperature upon arrival at the camp, and there were handwashing stations set up throughout the camp. I felt 100% safe, health-wise. We even had a health technician come to the camp to do our pre-departure covid-19 nasal swab tests ON SITE the day before we left so that we could have our results before flying back to the US. A note on tipping: there were 12 staff at the camp when we were there. I wish we had known a bit more about tipping processes before we arrived. If we could do it over again, we would give a communal tip to the staff in plain sight of all of them when they lined up to say goodbye to us at departure, to ensure back of the house staff were equally included. You won't regret staying here! Absolutely magical!!…
Incredible stay at Kandili Camp in August 2021. The Staff is absolutely amazing, food is fantastic and the location is unbeatable. Tents are brilliant with all necessary amenities, just like at home. Beautiful stay. If you are planning to visit Masai Mara and want a cosy, wild yet luxurious and exclusive experience, Kandili Camp is by far the best way to go.
Of all our excursions into the wild of tha Maasai Mara, the ones started at Kandili Camp where the most exiting. Mainly because one stays within the habitat and is surrounded by wildlife day and night.
Magical and wild! We had an amazing time at Kandili and everything was perfect! William and his wonderful team made sure we had an unforgettable time. Thank you Suma, Dan, Joel and everyone else for looking after us and to welcome us at your beautiful camp in the Maasai Mara, we will never forget these incredible days!!! xo
The staff and service at the Camp are absolutely FANTASTIC. The tents are basic with little space to keep suitcases and get ready. Shower was a bit unstable and the tent is poorly lit. For the price the tents and bathrooms need to be better. The views from the tent and the lodge are nice but when we went in August the plains were empty of wildlife. Camp and tents were clean and looked well sanitised. Meals were set up under an acacia tree in the daytime and under the stars at night which was great.
We were the fitst guests after the lockdown. Staff were happy to have customers again and we were very please with the care and attention given to us. Talking to the chef resulted in food being prepared that we appreciate most. We felt reaaly pampered. The facilities are well maintained. All in all very good. What could be better (compared to other camps) are the vieuws from the camp. Minor detail.
