My wife and I joined friends for a four-day safari in the Masai Mara. Our tour operator offered several locations for overnight accommodations. Based on photos and reviews we chose Kandili Camp and we are so glad we did! As much as we enjoyed our amazing safari, our time at Kandili Camp may have actually been the highlight. We stayed in an extremely comfortable tent that was well appointed with a large bed, desk, comfortable seating, toilet, sink, and shower with consistently hot water. Masai women greeted us on arrival with some singing and dancing, we ate excellent food and were pampered by the wonderful and friendly Masai staff (William, the manager, was particularly kind and attentive - I miss that guy!). Dining outside with amazing scenery including Zebra, Cape Buffalo and Wildebeests grazing 50 yards away remains a beautiful memory. We also enjoyed drinks near the nightly campfire, and the staff kept our tents clean and comfortable and even did our laundry as part of their service. Highly recommended!

Well, Kandili camp it's just magic! The place and the people! We chose it for our honeymoon and Sophia (the general manager, based in Nairobi) helped us a lot to organise everything, transfers, internal flights, trips... She has been so nice answering my thousands of questions before the arrival! She even called us when we got to Nairobi to check everything was fine! Once in Kandili, William (the camp's manager) made sure our stay was better than we dreamt of, telling us his amazing Massai stories, explaining us plenty of things about their culture (we've never met before such an interesting person!). We've been very lucky too with our private guide, Jackson, he was just the best! We got to see every single animal in the at night), visiting a local school, finding baby giraffes... He is in the clasification of types of guides... EXTRAORDINARY. Then of course, very important, the food... delicious!!! Really delicious!! The chef Salomon and the rest of the team like Timothy cooked like angels!! They even made a chocolate dessert as we requested!! The tents are just perfect (incredibly not any kind of insect inside but all of animals outside). We could write more and more lovely things about Kandili but let's just sum up saying that we've travelled all arround and we're a very high demaning couple, but this place and these people just made us felt in love with them!

We stayed here 3 nights w family of 4 - actually this was our 3rd choice as other locations in Maasai Mara were full. Honestly we were aprehensive about the eco tent experience, but absolutely surpassed expectations! The place is run by Maasai, which was wonderful! Nothing too much to assure our great stay! Love the hotwater bottle in the bed! Tents are sturdy & tidy, showers hot. Dinners were the BEST during our 3 wk safari. Only lesser point is location - a bit far away from primary game drive area - but that is compensated by nightly travels of bouncing bush babies across the dining area!

We are a family of six people stayed in Kandili tents for 3 nights. It was a great experience to stay in the midst of wild hearing hyena,Zebras , buffalos, birds etc. The first morning itself we saw a herd of Zebras just outside the tent.We had warm welcome by tribal ladies when we arrived. Dinner place was cozy and a tribal welcome dance was arranged. Being vegetarians we were worried about the food but we got not only vegetarian but also some Indian food though simple . Packed food too was delicious. Staff were always cheerful and helpful. A hot water bag kept on the bed after tiring Safari was most enjoyed. Totally it was a great experience in a very native ambience

30 something couple from the US. Visited in late May 2019, during the "rainy" season. We had clear skies pretty much throughout. Kandili camp is a world class stay. The staff are great, personable, and very knowledgeable. It's an eco-camp with a very small footprint, so no concrete swimming pools and big structures. The tents, bathrooms, beds are all translate true from the pictures. Tents are very big for the price. Very warm sleeping experience in a bed as nice as any luxury hotel. Wifi, electricity, hot water showers, sinks, toilets all setup similar to any more permanent standing hotel room. Very clean, well organized, comfy, and boutique. They are unique in that they are located within the Leopard Gorge conservancy, so you can wake up to animals outside your door, go for a walk at sunset right on the property. No "human-noises/presence" (no: engines, music, trash burning smells, chatter, construction), so a very relaxing, removed experience. Great views of the plains and mountain side. About the animals, you'll pretty much see animals left and right on your game drive, so if you haven't visited the area, there's nothing to worry about there. The guides are very knowledgable about how the animals live and where they can be found at different points of the day. We learned a lot. Also, they set us up with a local Maasai village visit which was nice. As far as food, we had excellent western food (wine / steak / eggs) and local food (by request). Meals are intimate and romantic under the Acacia trees with sweeping views. The sundowner is great way to unwind. Lunch picnic on the safari is great. Fully stocked bar (we took full advantage, hehe). Oh yea, and not sure why they don't market it, but free laundry every day! Awesome. Also, we flew into Eldoret and the GM helped us coordinate a private driver to pick us up from the airport from our non-standard location. A++, white glove for that. About the trip in general, we had some worry about overall safety of Kenya, we were very mis-informed. Very safe place for us, very high culture and community. From Nairobi to Western Kenya we never had a moment of concern. We've traveled the whole world and back, this is top 5 and Kandili was part of that. William, Sophie, Jackson and staff thank you!
