Siana Springs in the local Maasai language means "the plentiful springs". It is truly an area of abundance in flora, fauna and cultural attributes. It epitomizes the best in diversity in all aspects as the species richness and natural history making the Camp an ideal eco-lodge from where you can partake to the world’s greatest wildlife spectacle - the wildebeest migration. There are also other mammalian species, enthralling bird species and the distinctive Maasai Mara ecosystem. The Camp has a rich history dating back to 1920, when the first Game Warden selected its current site for his Camp. The Camp is now located on a Wildlife Conservancy whose ownership was bequeathed to the local community in the late 1970s. Siana Springs Tented Camp is owned and managed by Oltukai Mara Limited.

I've stayed in some of the fanciest safari camps in Kenya, but I keep coming back here because of the amazing staff and serene environment. The tall trees, the jungle sounds, the birds and non-dangerous animals that roam the common area. It's just perfect. I bring a lot of

I absolutely loved stayed here. The food was terrific, the staff are so friendly and efficient, the tents were very lean, tidy and spacious. The campfire every night was great too! Highly recommend staying here!

The location is outside the park and the 40 minute ride to the gate is bruising. But the worst of this place are the guides who talked me into paying for two full days of park entry fees for our group of 10 people. That's an added $800 in expense. I insisted we didn't need two

Dear Sir, Thank you for your recent visit to Siana Springs Tented Camp and the comments you raised on Trip advisor. Actually, the park is not under the Management of Siana Springs but under Narok County Council. The system used is that there are no charges for half day or less. Park entry fees are paid in full and per day. There are no restrictions on payment as long as it is before 06:00 pm of the day. No night Game Drives allowed. Our guides are also sales people and normally you should not have succumbed to their demands if at all you felt that you do not require the entry for two days. You mentioned that you have been in Mara for half a dozen times but you didn’t say no to the guides whom you willingly gave the money and was paid directly to the park authorities and official receipts issued and Sam presented them to you. The money could not be refunded because you actually went to the park the first day in the afternoon and the second day full day. I regret the lose and sympathize with the situation but I feel you should have been more firm to the guides and stick to your wish that you require only one day. Hope to host you soon again. Regards Paul Magiri General Manager

Daer SubramamanyaMaiya & Family, We thank you for choosing Siana Springs Tented Camp as your preffered holiday destination for your Family and Friends. We are located not very far from the Park Gate and it takes about 15 to 20 minutes drive to the Gate. On a normal day, driving to the park, you are able to view lots of wildlife on the private Conservancy adjacent to the Camp. Elephants, Girraffes, Zebras, Buffaloes and lots of antelops and other wildlife are a normal daily sighting. We do have lots of resident antelopes, Colombus and Velvert monkeys etc inside the camp. Our proffessional Chefs serve variouse international dishes including indian vegetarian and continental. Fortunately, we have now established the cause of the smelly water bathrooms was due to dead leaves in the storage tanks and the tanks have since been cleaned and treated with chlorine and its ok now. We do have daily evening entertainment and a bofire each evening. We hope to welcome you back and your friends in the near future. Regards Paul Magiri General Manager

Dear Mr Ajay, We thank you for the review you recently posted during your stay at our Siana Springs Tented Camp. I sympathise with your feelings and frastrations when you failed to get accommodation in Keekorok lodge and Mara Simba through your Travel Agent Thomas Cook India. There has been very heavy rains throughout in Kenya since March this year which extended all the way to early July. Most road net work including High Ways were swept by torrential rains. However, the ground was still very wet before any repairs can be undertaken. We had to wait for the grounds to dry first for permanet repairs to take place. I confirm that repairs for the road have now started in earnest. I regret the unfortunate situation you found yourself and many other guests in general due to the bad road. We are a Lodge not connected to the National Electricity Grid. We therefore operate a generator to supply lighting and power on timely basis. The generator is switched on from 05.00am in the morning up to 10.00am and again from 06.00pm in the evening till 11.00pm. These are the most convinient and economical hours to operate the generator for the mutual benefit of the guests and the general operational duties of the camp. I hope you bear with me on this as its very expensive to run the generator for 24 hours. We do have very clean water in all the tents and on this particular day, there were repairs due to a brokage and incidentally, dirty water went in the pipe. I apologise for this. The situation has since been rectified. All the guest tents have a boiler which supplies hoter water for the shower. We have had so many positive reviews but unfortunately, there is always ups and downs beyond the management efforts to resolve such situations. We are forecsed ensuring that all our guests get proffessional and quality service at all times. Regards, Paul Magiri General Manager

The place is very quiet and peaceful during the night. It is surrounded by an electric fence so no animals can come to the place from outside.

"How do you want your room/food to be? just alert them and it will be done!!!"
"Make sure you get taken to the right tent!!!"
"Let the reception know at what time you'll be arrving. they will send someone to wait for your vehicle right off the main road."
"Make sure you have a flashlight handy. The power is off after 10 PM; it's very dark outside; and it's a good distance from the bed to the bathroom."
"Try to get room close to the restaurant as at night it really gets dark and inconvenient to walk unless you have a torch."
