My wife and I went to Governors off the back of a recommendation from a friend for our honeymoon. All of the staff were amazingly friendly, always smiling with a "jamboree, thank you please" whenever you saw them. Wildlife was fantastic as we managed to get to see the big 5. Sadly no rhino's however. What you won't read is... More

We spent three spectacular days and nights at Governor's. The game drives were extraordinary with an over-abundance of wildlife particularly of buffalo, hippo, crocodile, wildebeest, impala, gazelles, etc. Lions were prolific, encountered almost everywhere we turned (there are 1,000 of them in the park). Without question, the Mara is certainly the place to go if lions are your primary interest.... More

Day 1 As the name suggests we moved to the next location which is an erstwhile governor's camp. It is out in the bush and man and nature really get to mingle here. We got here by crossing the mara river in a tiny boat. Accommodation is tents with just one charging point and electricity, of course, but no fixed... More

Three Nights and Four days of endless pampering in one of the most memorable trips of our times. It is difficult to evaluate who was better – the resort and its facilities OR the team involved with the resort. It is rare that you find in a holiday where the entire team involved, be the drivers who pick us up,... More

What an amazing place and what friendly people! We had been recommended Governors Camp as the best place to stay in Masai Mara for our first Safari experience and it really didn't disappoint. From the minute we arrived we were looked after by friendly staff and amazed by how beautiful the setting was. Tents right by the river with crocs... More

What a place! When we arrived we were greeted with fresh towels and refreshing drinks before being shown to our tent. Already we could hear the hippos and see the crocodiles!! Even driving from the airstrip to the camp we saw so many different animals. After a couple of hours chilling at the tent we went on the first game... More

Camp has a old colonial feel to it. We were 18of of us including ten kids and the staff tried to do their best to make it a wonderful visit. Food is passable not great but once you realise the sheer logistical challenge of what they have to deliver you do tend to appreciate it immediately. Game drives were plentiful... More

It took a little getting used to the tents and the service. We'd come from the Serena in Mara and this was so different. The service was not as attentive to start with but the staff soon got the hang of our group. The property itself is pretty, tents along the river, lots of trees, the honking hippos in the... More

We were a party of 6 on a self drive safari to Governors Camp for the second time having done the same last August (see my previous review). We flew into the Musiara airstrip with Governors Aviation where we picked up our self drive 4x4 vehicle from Sunworld safaris. Both were excellent. We would like to say that for the... More
