My husband and I just celebrated our first-year wedding anniversary at the Governor's main camp. The main camp is located in a beautiful savannah next to a river. It offered a fantastic mix of adventures and luxury in this uniquely inspiring nature. Our safari guide Francesco M'toila was wonderful. He took us to see two animal crossings (migration), the Big... We stayed at Governor's Camp for 2 days out of our 4 days stay in Masai Mara. For Little Governor's I have written a detailed review as well. 1) This camp has about 40 tents and property is really huge. Tents are self sufficient and have all the basic needs like electricity, wifi, hot water etc. 2) Camp doesn't have... More

What an absolutely brilliant experience we saw the big five and many more the leopards and rhino being my highlights. Our driver was called Jacob and I strongly recommend that you try and get him. We saw the rhino after the balloon flight as they are only on the other side of the Mara river (little governors). The staff are... More

Fantastic experience. Thought some practical info may be of help. Low voltage in tent, lights dim so no good for evening reading or hairdryer, OK for charging but only ONE plug. No facilities for making drink in tent. Wifi works best in bar. Defo need fleece/jumper morning and evening. Water heated once a day so may be cold in morning.... More

We stayed for 4 nights at Governor's Main Camp, Masai Mara Kenya as part of our honeymoon in June 2016. To say the experience was out of this world would be an understatement. Every single member of staff was outstanding, friendly, warm and welcoming. All very knowledgeable about the animals, food, and culture. Everyone of the waiting staff/housekeeping were genuinely... I took my three daughters to Kenya and Zambia as a treat after a difficult year for us all. The first thing to say about the camp is that the service from all staff there is not only professional but comes with great warmth. It is led from the top as the manager is always to be seen out and... More

Our return to this camp after 8 years proved to be a good choice again. We brought our whole family [10 people total] here to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. The tents, the food, the staff, the game drives were all excellent. We have traveled to many places in the world and this is the one we picked to celebrate... More

We stayed here for a two night safari in conjunction with a stay in Mombasa. The accommodation was to a very high standard as well as the service which was extremely good. Particular thanks here to Joseph who delivered us hot drinks in the early hours of the morning and hot water bottles in the evenings. The safari drives were... More

The Mara river on one side and the Savannah on the other was a treat for the eyes as soon as we entered. And for the 3 nights that we stayed there, the wildlife was just part of the otherwise wholesome experience where Mother Nature was at its bountiful best. Will never forget the starlit December sky. And the animals?... More

What an amazing place. We had hoped to see the wildebeest migration and we certainly weren't disappointed. In all we saw three wildebeest river crossings which included a double crossing with thousands of wildebeest. Waiting crocodiles snapped their prey and a lioness stalked both the wildebeest and wart hogs, one of which provided her with a tasty meal. On return... More
