My wife bid on a 4 night stay at this property at an auction and I am so glad she did. The property is amazing, this was our honeymoon and they upgraded us to a room with a view right above the section on the river where the hippos spend their time. We had multiple massages that were all fantastic. The staff was amazing, we met the gentlemen that lives in Nairobi that manages the Fairmont properties in Kenya and he and his guests were a delight to speak to. Because we purchased this through an auction there was some confusion around the billing and he and the manager were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond for us. One of the highlights was meeting David from a local tribe, they let us sign a waiver and go running outside of the gates with David which really made our stay. Our guide for the 4 days was Jeremiah, I can't imagine if we would have gone on safari with anyone else. He was the most knowledgeable, professional, kind, funny person we could have asked for. He was able to find more amazing wildlife and even let us bring some friends we met at the lodge on a night safari. If you are lucky enough to get him as a guide you will be so happy. Thanks to everyone that made our stay so amazing!

We bought this trip through a silent auction when it was offered at a charitable event in December 2019. We were planning to go in 2020 but COVID hit. I researched to see when the best time to see the migration and hopefully the river crossing. We decided to go the second week of August. Upon our arrival to the airstrip, we were met by Joseph, who told us that he was going to be our guide during our stay. Immediately, we were presented with what we went to Kenya for. On our way to the resort, we saw mongoose, warthogs, topi, Thompson gazelle, zebra, cheetahs, elephants, and giraffe. Upon arrival to the camp, we were greeted by staff with a warm towel to freshen up. We had lunch and taken to our tent which sat above the Mara River with several hippos. The tent was nice and clean. The hippos would wake us up every morning with their roars. Seeing monkeys on the grounds was also a plus but we were warned to zip up our tents so they would not enter the tents. We had the opportunity of two game drives per day except for the day we went to the national park which lasted all day. Joseph was an excellent guide and educated on the animals we saw. We were the only two people in the vehicle was like we were on a private safari (except for one drive where we were joined by two other guest). Having a vehicle that was enclosed was also a plus especially on the early morning drives where it was a little chilly and when it rained. The vehicle was always clean, and I asked Joseph if he washed it between drives. Joseph made sure that we saw animals from lions, cheetahs, warthogs, gazelles, impalas, elephants, hyenas, wildebeest, and leopards. One three-hour afternoon drive we saw the Big Five: lions, cape buffalo, elephants, rhinos (and their guards) and a leopard. When at the national park, Joseph decided that we would eat lunch overlooking the Mara River because a herd of wildebeest were grazing near the river. Other vehicles had the same idea and all the sudden all the vehicles took off. The herd of wildebeest swam across the river. We were the only guest during the stay that witness a river crossing. Being an amateur photographer, I was in heaven. Peter and the food staff made sure that we had enough to eat. When we walked by the restaurant after our morning drive, and we were greeted by our waiter (Brian) asking if we were going to have breakfast. Lunch and dinner after our afternoon drive were also provided. There was plenty good food. The lamb was very good. Caleb and the housekeeping staff made sure our tent cabin was clean and made sure our needs were met. The grounds of the resort is well kept up and it seemed like there was someone always cleaning something. Our stay was six nights which was a little long. I was pretty wiped out at the end of our stay but we were not disappointed for our trip of a lifetime.

The tents are on a concrete slab and quite comfortable. Great shower and plenty of hot water. Right on the river. Plenty of hippos just outside. Got a wonderful massage while there. Food was mostly buffet and very good. Service was good on all levels.
