If you want a once in a lifetime safari experience, then I highly recommend staying at this hotel, situated on the Mara, you are at the heart of the animals, with two complimentary game drives a day, you will see an abundance of animals at this resort. Amazing hot air balloon ride over safari Amazing bbq at night in the Mara, dancing with Masai Great food, amazing service and a slice of paradise
We had the most amazing week here. When I 1st told my wife she's going on safari but staying in a tent she was not impressed! Little did she know what was in store! 5 star service glamping! Nothing was too much to ask, Mutai, Robert, Gerald, Brian, Brendon, and all the rest were absolutely amazing, we wouldn't change any day of this holiday! We would highly recommend staying here!
Fairmont Mara Safari Club, a hidden paradise in the wild is how I would describe this beautiful property in the Mara. It was our very first time at the Fairmont Mara and my family and I had the most magnificent time in this place having stayed for four nights…. pure BLISS. We were warmly received by a great team at the reception led by a jovial young man called Brian. Immediately, we were checked in and escorted to our very lavish and secured tents. By the way all tents overlook the Mara river with Hippos in sight…. Important to mention, we started getting pampered on arrival! On my first night I wasn’t sure I was going to sleep deeply coz most hotel mattreses are so uncomfortable but shock on me, I slept well and woke up very refreshed everyday. From outside the tent looks small but it is quite spacious and well lit…serene environment, I loved it. Food: The food was delectable. My favourite was the Pork Chops specially made by Chef Kalume whom I had the priviledge of meeting… very passionate about what he does and he ensured every single day, was a different experience with the buffet. Something that I also loved while at the dining area, was the fact that a waiter was assigned to a specific table and therefore the experience was so personalized. Peter Terer, was assigned to my family. Such an amazing, friendly and very caring staff. He ensured that at all times we were comfortable and we really felt at home. He knew exactly what drinks we preferred and the kind of eggs we liked. The staff in this property were on top of things at all times. I actually had to ask the Manager Steve, what they do to their staff coz they were all so motivated, always smiling and welcoming which adds to the comfort and awesome experience that we had. This is a place where boredom wouldn’t feature in your vocabulary. So many activities to indulge in including swimming, bike riding, Hot Air Ballon flights, Hippo Point where one can just watch the Hippos and of course the Game Drives (Favourite). Oh, Game drives were everything. Our very knowledgeable, friendly and humble guide Ole Sitima, gave us a magical experience-outta this world. In a day, we went for the drives twice and every single day was a different experience. Ole Sitima, ensured we saw most of the animals including the Big 5 and stopped to allow us to take pictures and ask questions. He is very experienced and quite informed which was a plus coz we learnt so much about the animals, the vegetation and even the locals esp. the Maasai culture and traditions as we learnt some Maasai language and we say Ashe Oleng’ Ole Sitima…a highly recommended guide, we would use you over and over again. When you have a great team of staff, it definitely trickles from the top. The Manager Steve together with the Human Resource Manager Nancy….aaawwww, such lovely, interactive and kind leaders. I always bumped into them ensuring that all the guests were comfortable and happy, me included. What I noticed is that they had an awesome relationship with all the staff. This is a place that I would highly recommend and looking forward to visiting the place again. …
The email communication of where and when to be picked up at the airstrip was smooth and assuring. The pickup itself was memorable - upon arrival we were warmly greeted by two staff members who met us at the plane and showed us onto a safari vehicle and from that point on the safari experience began. We spotted hippos, monkeys, waterbucks, zebra, crested cranes - all within the 15 minute transfer to the camp. The staff at the camp were friendly and welcoming. We received relevant information about our itinerary and were checked-in promptly and shown to our tent. The tent was fantastic. A great size, very comfortable, had all the amenities we needed. The bed was comfortable, the storage space was plentiful for our 3 night stay, and the shower was very good (nice pressure and with hot water). The tent was located right by the River Mara, so you'd hear hippos making their way up and down, and we had a crocodile sunbathe across from us as well. We also had a small troupe of monkeys visit us on our terrace, which made for great photo opportunities from the comfort of our tent. The food was varied each day and for each meal. The buffet was plentiful and tasty with cuisine that really catered well to our taste (Indian, Kenyan, continental), and at breakfast you had the option of eggs to order. The pasta station were manned by very capable cooks as well, I really enjoyed the spaghetti dish they cooked up for me. The camp itself was beautiful. We were encouraged to wander around and we did just that. The grounds were very well designed and maintained, and during the evening very smartly lit - enough to be able to easily make your way around, but not too bright to impact the feel of the place. The Hippo Corner was a place we visited every day, what a unique spot to experience a large pod of hippos resting during the day. Now, the highlight of our experience was of course the game drives. Two daily, one at 6.30am for approximate 2 hours, the other at 3.30pm for around 3 hours, and these were magical. Our guide - Tony - was extremely knowledgeable and knew his craft as a guide. It was insightful, educating, collaborative and he guided us through not just the usual animals you see in documentaries but provided perspectives and context on the whole ecosystem (or circle of life). We have done safari before so knew partly what to expect, and we made sure that our expectations were low, these are wild animals after all - but WOW, we saw so much in our six drives with Tony and made memories that will last a lifetime. We spotted the infamous big 5, but the highlights were those that were not on that list - the cheetahs, a dung beetle in action, the eagles, the hippos grazing on grass in the early morning and late evenings, the pairs of jackals wandering around and on one occasion accompanying a flock of ostriches, the warthog piglets, the giraffe calf who was barely two days old, the banded mongoose, the hyena pups, the list goes on. We are so thankful for this, in many ways it was life changing. This Fairmont experience sets the bar so high for future trips to come. We are already thinking of when to plan to head back. We could not recommend this place more, it is a safari experience absolutely worth saving up for!…
The Masa Safari Club was our last stop in Kenya, and we saved the best to last! From the minute we were picked up at the airport to the minute we left we were treated like VIPs. The staff were outstanding, and our game drivers were an experience of a lifetime. Mike took the time to ask what we wanted to see and we weren’t disappointed. Thank you to all the amazing staff at the club. Mike, Edward, Caleb, Peter, Rose and Hannah thank you for making our experience unforgettable!
Gorgeous property with amazing staff and food! Eldon and Phillip were amazing, Gerald the bartender and Bernard and Peter the waiters were so kind and helpful. Steve the manager was a superb host. Honestly this property was fabulous, well kept, clean and the staff make it everything and beyond. The food was impeccable compliments to the chef! The safari ofcourse was amazing we saw everything from the Big 5 to others. I'm definitely coming back and would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to the mara. Thank you team at Fairmont mara safari club! Asante
I can’t begin to describe how great of an experience this was. Worth every penny!! From the second we landed until our departure we were treated with top notch hospitality. The game drives were epic. Our guide, Moseka and his assistant, Joseph, were so knowledgeable, engaging, and friendly. It was such a blessing to have them guiding us for the duration of our trip. We did see the Big 5 and got lucky by seeing 2 lion feedings during our 10 game rides. The food was really good as well. Augustine, our server, was fantastic. The rooms are high class tents, which provide all of the necessary essentials (shower, toilet, sink, coffee maker) Glamping, for sure 🤣. Just outside our room we saw a bunch of hippos, different types of monkeys, and a crocodile. (Down in the river, so we were safe). The only minor criticism I have is that their front desk employees don’t speak the best English and aren’t as quick and clear as the rest of the staff. There seemed to be some miscommunication with us and some other guests regarding a few things. Overall, it was one of the best and most impactful experiences of my life. Highly, highly recommend!!!…
I stayed here with my family in October 2022. We had a wonderful stay, the rooms and facility are in excellent condition and the staff went above and beyond to truly make our stay special. The manager, Michael, was very attentive and is a real asset to the property. We only had a short time in The Mara and his expertise and willingness to assist ensured that we had the best possible experience on all fronts. The hotel is part of an exclusive reserve that never felt overcrowded and offered us opportunities to see almost every animal, including a kill. The only animal we did not see was a cheetah, which was unusual as they are not even the most rare. Such is luck sometimes, hopefully we will have another opportunity to visit again and would definitely stay at the Fairmont. I highly recommend this property to anyone visiting The Mara.…
Just came back after a stay at the Fairmont Mara! Excellent stay to say the least! The best food in the Mara by far. Very helpful staff! Would recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a 5 Star Stay in the Greater Mara region!
My parents, two sisters, and I felt like royalty. Absolutely stunning and tranquil grounds. The food and service is unmatched. Highest of compliments to Chef Kalume A. Our server Ahmed was gracious and attentive. Love a cocktail like I do? ...take to Gerald’s corner as he serves a fantastic drink paired with a warm smile and enchanting stories of the Lodge and the Maasai Mara as a whole. A huge favorite part of the stay were the numerous game drives/safaris. Should you be as lucky as we were to have Joseph G. as your tour guide, you’ll have a laugh filled, engaged and educational experience. His vast knowledge, mudding skills, and sixth sense for the savannah and wildlife is something one and all should experience. William head of onboarding, Sammy our very patient tent attendant, Moses in the gardening crew, Brandon, and Benson were all amazing!! I’d be remiss if I didn’t offer a heart felt thank you to Abednego for getting us there and back to the city safely. Special thanks to Steve the GM, and the lovely welcoming ladies I liked to call the 4 Aces who helped tie everything together. Truly, each and everyone I had the pleasure of running into made our stay one to certainly remember and cherish for a long time to come. 🏕 🌳🐘🛻🍽🍻💚…
