After a short flight from Wilson airport, we landed in the heart of the Maasai mara & we were welcomed with a glass of champagne by our Maasai guide John. A soft drink was also Availed for my daughter. Very thoughtful 😊 The warm welcome simply sets the standard of what to expect at Mahali Mzuri. After an enjoyable drive from the airstrip, we arrived at Mahali Mzuri , an absolutely unpretentious & breathtaking place. We will never forget that right outside the tent patio, we saw a herd of elephants & to this day this magical moment remains a key highlight for us. The architecture of these tents is like no other. A site to behold. They stand out yet blend in with nature. They are clean, spacious and very comfortable. Even on hot afternoons, the temperatures in the tents are controlled. The people are wonderful. Special appreciation to Chef Eddie, Joy & our guide John The kids are also not left out of the activities, there's the little warriors experience where they are given a checklist with all the animals, plants & birds found at the conservancy, their duty is to tick off all they'll spot & at the end of the holiday, they're awarded with a Little warrior certificate. Indeed one of my bucket list items & I'm grateful i got the chance to experience Mahali Mzuri!…
The most wounded full The most wonderful experience I have ever had. Words can’t describe enough the joy and happiness we feel that we were lucky to go through this experience. I would really love to thank every and each one of the Mahali mzuri team who made went over and beyond our expectations. -Ms. Ann who really greeted us the with the warmest smile and explained to us in detail and was making sure to know our expectations simply just to go over it and surprise us, you really made us feel like we reached home from the first moment. -Mr. Kisimei who looked out throughout the stay , he remembered our preference and payed attention to ever small detail to ensure we had the food and drinks, he’s very friendly and very professional. -Head chef Mr. Edison who simply is hands down one of the few chefs around the world who’s able to ace all kind of different cuisine. Thank you for every single delicious bite we ever had in each and every meal you prepared for us from scratch, and the lovely memory that not only my brain will remember, but my stomach too, your dishes are out of this world. -Mr. Jackson Thank you so much for all of your time and effort, thank you for all the knowledge and information you passed to us , thank you for all of the amazing life time memories, your so friendly, respectful and professional you really made us wait for ever single drive to be surprised and blown away , I’m proud to say I have a friend in the MAASI now who we can trust and enjoy the moments with, thank you. To the rest of the team thank you so much and hope to see all soon.…
Travelled there with my husband who was on a business trip. Amazing view onto a valley with resident lion prides sunning themselves on the other side. Great guide in Jackson who is clearly very passionate about his job. Thanks to all the staff and Maryanne for welcoming us so nicely.
We had the best safari trip here in this amazing camp in Masai Mara - amazing location, best service and most notably the best people I’ve ever met ! Newton and Betty : you were the most amazing guides who drove us around and became part of our families! We’ve seen everything we wanted to see and more ! Smiles all the way and can’t wait to return! Johnston: you really are the face of Mahali Mazuri ! Your smile every morning and evening made our day all worthwhile waking up to . How do you really have this smile all day everyday? We really hope to see you when we return to this amazing place again . Big thanks to Joe for supporting Johnston in looking after us throughout our stay . Mariana : thank you for making our stay memorable and comfortable! We loved the bush dinner and the dance on our final night including most romantic setting in our bedrooms . You have shown us how the service of an excellent holiday location can be . We would also like to thank everyone whose helped behind the scenes, chefs, kitchen staff , house keeper Jack and night guards etc ! This would not be as perfect without the support of you all - it’s all team work here and you all have shown it so well . Thanks once again for this most memorable trip - Balalle family and Kotalawela family from UK…
We enjoyed our stay, I felt at home. As a local, Kenyan traveler I didn’t feel like we were treated any less than the “other” travelers compared to other places I have traveled where we are bluntly discriminated upon. The rooms are comfortable, spacious, and even if we had issues with the water getting hot, the management team worked tirelessly to ensure it was fixed. As a vegan the chef Eddie went beyond to make sure I enjoyed the meals. The staff are exceptional, Johnstone, James, Joy, Marianne. Very professional! The only thing is housekeeping was very disconnected, and I feel he should have introduced himself to us and maybe customize our room to meet our needs. The whole experience was superb and I am thankful to the staff who made our experience worthwhile. I don’t repeat destinations but this one is a must repeat with friends and the broader family. Ashe 🙏🏽…
Would love to tell you about all the surprising and magical things we experienced here but I don’t want to spoil an amazing holiday. Suffice to say that I believe the staff here are invested in the success of their camp, and the opportunities it provides for the local community. We wanted for nothing, and every interaction was positive. They’ve thought of everything. John, our guide, was endlessly knowledgeable, and everyone at the hotel anticipated our needs, from our favourite coffees waiting for us in the morning to sundowners in the evening. I don’t feel qualified to rate something as awesome as the animal kingdom but it, too, seemed to be out in force from the moment we flew over the Maasai until the moment we left. Bring a toothbrush and a change of clothes and Mahali Mzuri will take care of the rest. The village visit was really interesting, the tents were awesome, but not as awesome as the view and the opportunity to be so close to so many of natures wonders. Wilson, Bob, David were just a few of the gems we met, the chefs were helpful and produced sumptuous menus every day. The kids had great fun training to be little rangers and learned so much from seeing the animals in their natural habitats. Mariana was so welcoming and helped us with anything we needed. Thank you all for an outstanding holiday - anywhere else has a lot to live up to!…
If you are headed to Maasai Mara, this is THE only place to stay. Before my arrival my cynical self thought "Oh no, it can't be that amazing" but let me tell you it was. Every minute from touchdown at the dirt airstrip, being met by the amazingly knowledgeable Betty (my driver guide while I was there), to arrival at the main entrance to be met by the incredibly welcoming Mariana (camp manager), to my tearful and reluctant departure three days later was fabulously excellent. Six or seven stars at least. Yes, your suite is a "tent" but it's like camping on steroids -- trust the photos on Trip Advisor, they accurately convey the luxury. And you want game viewing? It's right Up Close And Personal here - the guides are allowed to go off road right up to the animals, unlike other places where drivers are confined to the dirt paths (like the Serengeti). And the animals don't mind, they seem accustomed to vehicles (just don't get out!). The food is better than most Michelin rated restaurants and the service will consistently knock your socks off. Yes it is not cheap but if you want to have The Pinnacle Safari Experience, this is THE place to do it. Short hop on a small plane from Nairobi, don't miss it! And yes the photos posted here of the wildlife are 100% accurate - - I saw those same things too!…
Mahali Mzuri is absolutely the nicest place to stay on the Mara! We had a wonderful stay with amazing game drives where we saw an epic cheetah chase, a pride of lions feeding on a water Buffalo, plus a leopard and her Cubs hunting their dinner. The entire staff is so welcoming and special shout-out to Mariana, the camp manager who runs the amazing place along with the dedicated staff members Johnson (food & beverage) Newton (our game driver), Vera (massage therapist), Jane (gift shop) and all others that make visits to the Mara so memorable. As Americans, we were apprehensive of travel due to Covid and we’re blown away by the safety measures Mahali Mzuri took to make us feel so comfortable. We stayed in Tent 4 which has beautiful views and truly felt like home for the few days we were there. If you’re looking to visit, this is definitely the place to book! We can’t wait to be back and recommend it to everyone we know.…
The view, the tents, the nature, the animals, the food, the swimming pool, and of course the people, everything is wonderful at Mahali Mzuri. We had great time in family with our guide Newton, our butler Wilson and also Ann.
