One of the best places to stay in Masai Mara.. Top notch service from the entire staff!!!!!!!!. Peter our guide(& the trainee Collins) we’re simply outstanding, Peter’s knowledge on the local game is phenomenal. He was spot on getting us to multiple places and on time. Watching the Hyena hunt a Topi was the highlight of the trip(though I’ll have to admit watching it die and eaten alive was very tough) Now the second most important person we want to name is Julius the COOK. He is a fantastic and very and super nice guy cooking us a lot of options(Indian food) what we asked and wanted. Hats off to Julius!!!! Kelvin and Kevin took care of our food and drinks served on time..these guys made sure we weren’t waiting at all and made sure we were well fed and drunk well 🙂!! Moses our butler!!! Wow he is so meticulous in taking care of tent, laundry and early morning beverages!!! Now last but not least.. Linda, Sharon and Stacey took care of our budget and other options.. In a nutshell great place to stay and unwind!!! One small kink in the armory was the power/electric issues. If that was not there I would have given a 7/5!!!…
Stayed here for 3 nights in an amazing luxurious tent. Plenty of water in the room, toiletries etc. Butler service for your every needs. Turn down at night and a chocolate was left on the pillow and a hot water bottle in the bed. A lovely touch. Food was excellent to see and eat. The staff so helpful and accomodating. There is a river which runs through the camp and you can see hippos from every tent and the swimming pool and hear them at night. Mongooses live there and you can hear the lions roar. It is so peaceful and quiet. We had an excellent game drive and saw 4 of the big 5 on the reserve, but there are many animals around the plains and Neptune have their own Sanctuary where animals come and go as they please. I would urge you to go to the rhino sanctuary where you can be so close to the rhinos and ake your photo. There is a spa available where you can have a wonderfully relaxing massage. In fact whether you have one or not you will leave Rianta so happy to see the animals and so chilled and relaxed. The staff make your stay extra special and we were treated so well by all of them. Having been to the Masai Mara previously I was not expectng this level of luxury. It was so beautiful so peaceful and a taste of how the other half live lol. We thoroghly enjoyed our stay and cant wait to go back…
This camp is THE BEST I have ever been to in the Masai Mara (I have been twice before to other camps)! From the facilities, the luxurious tents, the attentive professional staff, the delicious food, the ambience, the view, etc. there was nothing missing to make our trip the most unforgettable. You have to visit to get the whole picture!
We had an absolutely unbelievable time here - the game drives were stellar! The hippos and mongoose woke us up. The food was delicious and staff were incredibly attentive. We had a massive wind storm one night and watching the staff respond so effectively and quickly to the situation was something. Lots to enjoy here. Comfort and wildness in an incredible combination!
Pro: Staff was amazing. Paul, Elphas and Ezra did everything to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Amazing service. The chef should be commended, great food! Tents were spacious and comfortable. Beautiful views of the Mara River from the lodge. Cons: Despite the amazing service at the lodge, I was actually very disappointed with this trip. I live in Nairobi and had booked a family vacation with guests coming from the US. I wanted to book a lodge in Mara North to make sure that we didn’t have to drive far for game drives and because I’d heard such wonderful things about the conservancy. This is my fourth time to the Mara, and I wanted to see a different area. The hotel got great reviews and my agent said it was well - located to game drives. Imagine my surprise then when I learned that despite being in the conservancy, we couldn’t do game drives in the conservancy. The hotel stopped paying the conservancy dues in August - apparently not informing our booking agent and being a bit cheeky in their marketing materials. The website still says ‘located in the exclusive Mara North Conservancy’ - so exclusive, they are excluded! Because they are no longer members of Mara North Conservancy, the only option is for you to drive over an hour to the National Reserve gate. After you enter, it is also a long road to game. Because of this, though I had planned a trip with the idea of minimizing the time in the car for my elderly family members, we actually ended up driving more than I’ve ever done in game drives - unable to break up the day, unable to go back to the lodge for leisurely afternoons, unable to do sundowners - basically spending hours each day getting to the park. It was, so disappointing. Though you’re paying less than some of the high end camps in MNC, you’re still paying significantly more than a camp located outside of the game viewing, which is essentially what this amounts to. When I raised these issues with management they were understanding, but nothing could be done. When my booking agent raised this with management they wouldn’t refund so we could book at a new lodge. They did offer to give us a complementary sundowner on their property- but then it rained - and they ended up charging us for the drinks we had at the lodge during the rain. In summary - I was sad to not love the place given all the rave reviews. I suppose if you didn’t know better you would think it was normal to drive an hour to get into the park. I assure you it’s not. Don’t pay this price if you want to be in Mara North to drive in the conservancy. If you want to sit on a beautiful deck and get great food, then it’s a great place but it’s not great for safaris anymore - sadly. I hope management reviews their arrangement with the conservancy- the staff is amazing, but I don’t see how the hotel will thrive in the competitive environment.…
Perfect position on a bend of the the Mara River. Our tent #8 had an amazing view of the river, Hippos, crocs and numerous game on the far bank. But what's sets this lodge apart is the high level of service, food and ambience. Your own butler wakes you up with tea and biscuits, all meals including breakfast are a la carte and frankly superb. Quality drinks are included, with good wines a feature, so rare for all inclusive. Kenyan service is always good but here it is excellent, a real credit to the manager who welcomed us personally. Special thanks to Alfred who seems to know what we want before we do! Trade has been difficult, so I can easily forgive the bit of maintenance needed here and there. All in all Fabulous, asante sanna!
So so relaxing. The ambiance is wonderful. Very Covid observant. Ben is a terrific tour guide of the Conservancy. Every meal is three course. Don’t miss the fresh juices. Three meals included per day. Conservancy tours extra. Rooms are spacious. The entire property is super clean. You’ll feel pampered in the jungle. Don’t miss the massage with Rose!! Air strip pick up is included.
We stayed at Neptune Mara Rianta for 3 nights during our recent safari. I think when you cry when you leave a place that it's a good indication of the quality of the experience. It is a little effort to reach the camp from the main road but it is so worth it! The location on a Mara river bend full of hippos is amazing and unsurpassed. The tents are extremely spacious and have a wonderful large shower. The staff are amazing. Ezra, our waiter, took extremely good care of us and made us feel very special. I was very sad to say goodbye to all of them! I sincerely hope to visit again.
The flight from Nairobi Wilson Airport was a quick one hour and suddenly we were in paradise. The land cruiser and our guide Ben were waiting for us at the airstrip- he had a cooler full of drinks if we needed. We did a short safari on our way to the camp and it was obvious he was extremely knowledgeable and had a good eye for spotting game. We were welcomed at the camp with a refreshing juice and introduced to the staff including our personal butler!! All the tents are located with a river view which is full of hippos. They were happily wallowing in the water and making hippo noises. The bird life right at the camp was incredible, so much variety. There is a pool which is refreshing after being in the sun. The tents were gorgeous with amazing views- the shower had an open view of the river too! The showers were hot and the pressure was good. I couldn’t believe they even had WiFi there in the main areas! The food was another story all together- talk about 5 star meals in the bush! There were always four choices of a main meal and it was a 5 course meal for both lunch and dinner- absolutely incredible. The game drives, we did two a day, morning and evening were amazing. Just the sunrises were worth the entire trip. The sound of silence when the car is switched off and your just sitting out there watching a herd of elephants is indescribable- truly an experience of a lifetime. If you get an opportunity to go to Neptune Mara Rianta, you must take it!!…
From the minute we arrived we were welcomed. We were introduced to staff and shown to our tented lodgings. Little did we know how perfect our accommodations would be and how wonderful it is to be awakened and serenaded by hippos in the river a mere 25 yards away. The four course meals were fantastic and the wake up coffee was presented at just the right time to fuel our days. The lunches made for us on our safari’s were top notch Do not miss this Camp. If you get the opportunity to visit consider yourselves fortunate.
