Nelson has made the place really nice to stay. The staff is very polite and helpful. They try their best to make you feel comfortable. Good food too. Nelson also arranged for the best guide and vehicle for our safari.

From the safari, over the ceremony and blessing by the elders, visit to the village, learning about your school projects, to the accommodations, and kind care from everyone - I will never forget this experience. Hopefully, I will be able to come back soon and bring my family/friends on one of the trips. I thank Nelson, Maggie, and the entire... More

Nelson runs a lovely camp on the foot of the lush hills near the Maasai Mara National Reserve. You wake up to the sounds of nature, and a beautiful view all the way to Naboisho Conservancy. End your day around the camp fire, enjoying a beer or a cup of Kenyan tea, and listen to Nelson's stories about growing up... More

We stayed for two nights in February. We were met by the staff with hot towels and a drink. They were the friendliest and most accommodating imagineable. The accommodation we slept in was a tent attached to a toilet and shower area. My wife didn't think she would like it but loved it! The shower was really good. Willy the... More

My wife and I went to Maasai Mara for 3 days and stayed at Oldarpoi Mara Camp, a community camp run by Nelson and Maggie Reiyia. These guys are incredible people who devote their lives to help their fellow Maasai by building schools, creating jobs and helping to promote Maasai culture. In addition to going on game drives and seeing... More

We stayed at Oldarpoi Mara Camp for three days this November and had an incredible experience. The owners, Nelson and his wife and the camp crew took us on a safari where we discovered the maasai mara national park with a jeep all to our own, meters away from lions with cubs, elephants, rhino's and leopards. We went on a... More

Friends in Nairobi heard about our last minute decision to drive into the Mara the next day and recommended I call Nelson. He was fantastic - making sure his team had dinner for us even when we arrived late at night! The staff were lovely - pulling out a couple of beers for weary travellers and looking after our driver... More

Oldarpoi Camp is an incredible blend of safari experience - game drives as good as any! - and Maasai hospitality. Unlike most camps, it is owned and operated by a progressive Maasai community, and profits go towards community projects like girls' education, employment training, etc. The couple who own it - Nelson and Maggie - are truly exceptional both as... Oldarpoi Mara Camp is, in my opinion, the best place you could ever stay in the Maasai Mara. Here are some of the best things about my stay: * The staff are warm, welcoming, courteous, and friendly * The level of service is better than a 5 star resort! They will help you with anything you need * The landscape... More
